  • This study is based on the Korean-Chinese parallel corpus, utilizing the Korean connective morpheme '-myenseo' and contrasting with the Chinese expression. Korean learners often struggle with the use of Korean Connective Morpheme especially when there is a lexical gap between their mother language. '-myenseo' is of the most use Korean Connective Morpheme, it usually contrast to the Chinese coordinating conjunction. But according to the corpus, the contrastive Chinese expression to '-myenseo' is more than coordinating conjunction. So through this study, can help the Chinese Korean language learners learn easier while studying '-myenseo', because the variety Chinese expression are found from the parallel corpus that related to '-myenseo'. In this study, firstly discussed the semantic features and syntactic characteristics of '-myenseo'. The significant semantic features of '-myenseo' are 'simultaneous' and 'conflict'. So in this chapter the study use examples of usage to analyse the specific usage of '-myenseo'. And then this study analyse syntactic characteristics of '-myenseo' through the subject constraint, predicate constraints, temporal constraints, mood constraints, negatives constraints. then summarize them into a table. And the most important part of this study is Chapter 4. In this chapter, it contrasted the Korean connective morpheme '-myenseo' to the Chinese expression by analysing the Korean-Chinese parallel corpus. As a result of the analysis, the frequency of the Chinese expression that contrasted to '-myenseo' is summarized into

. It can see from the table that the most common Chinese expression comparative to '-myenseo' is non-marker patterns. That means the connection of sentence in Korean can use connective morpheme what is a clarifying linguistic marker, but in Chinese it often connect the sentence by their intrinsic logical relationships. So the conclusion of this chapter is that '-myenseo' can be comparative to Chinese conjunction, expression, non-marker patterns and liberal translation patterns, which are more than Chinese conjunction that discovered before. In the last Chapter, as the conclusion part of this study, it summarized and suggest the limitations and the future research direction.

    • This study was performed to the expressions of pregnancy-associated plasma protein-A (PAPP-A) and 20alpha-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase ($20{\alpha}$-HSD) in bovine corpus luteum during early pregnancy. To determine the function of PAPP-A gene during early pregnancy, we collected corpus luteum samples on 30, 60 and 90 days of pregnancy in bovine. The mRNA expression of PAPP-A, $20{\alpha}$-HSD, progesterone-receptor (PR) and insulin-like growth factor binding protein4 (IGFBP4) gene was conducted by Real-time PCR. In parallel with mRNA levels, The protein expressions of PAPP-A and $20{\alpha}$-HSD were detected by immunological analysis. The mRNA expressions $20{\alpha}$-HSD and PAPP-A significantly increased on day 90 in the corpus luteum during pregnancy. The mRNA expression of PR and JGFBP4 in the corpus luteum progressively was enhanced at 30 to 60 day, but decreased on 90 day of pregnancy in the corpus luteum. The expression patterns of these genes, PAPP-A and $20{\alpha}$-HSD were similar pattern in these tissues. In conclusion, PAPP-A and $20{\alpha}$-HSD activity in corpus luteum could be played a role for early pregnancy manifestation.

    • With the rapid evolution of the Internet and mobile environments, text including spelling errors such as newly-coined words and abbreviated words are widely used. These spelling errors make it difficult to develop NLP (natural language processing) applications because they decrease the readability of texts. To resolve this problem, we propose a spelling error correction model using a spelling error correction dictionary and a newspaper corpus. The proposed model has the advantage that the cost of data construction are not high because it uses a newspaper corpus, which we can easily obtain, as a training corpus. In addition, the proposed model has an advantage that additional external modules such as a morphological analyzer and a word-spacing error correction system are not required because it uses a simple string matching method based on a correction dictionary. In the experiments with a newspaper corpus and a short message corpus collected from real mobile phones, the proposed model has been shown good performances (a miss-correction rate of 7.3%, a F1-measure of 97.3%, and a false positive rate of 1.1%) in the various evaluation measures.

    • The expression 'kes' is one of the most widely used ones in the language whose uses are highly dependent upon the context. These highly-context dependent uses make it hard to determine its grammatical properties. As a way of examining the properties in a rather controlled context, this paper collects a series of speeches made by government officials and examines the grammatical properties of the expression in the corpus. In particular, the paper, based on the 539 instances of 'kes' uses extracted from the corpus, focuses on the 7 types of 'kes' constructions most widely used in the collected speech corpus.

    • This experiment has been done in order to study the correlation between the ultrastructure changes and the atresia phenomenon of the follicles in porcine ovary. The ovaries were assorted according to the presence or absence of corpus luteum. Thereafter, the follicles were classified into normal, pyknotic, necrotic and cystic groups by atretic characteristics on the histological observation, and then their ultrastructures were examined with an electron microscope. The results were as followings. 1. In normal group, granulosa cells represented the ultrastructural characteristics of protein-synthesizing cells. Since the initiation of atresia, the line structure of granulosa cells showed many of the characteristic features of steroid-secreting cells, followed by gradual pyknosis. 2. In necrotic group of the ovary without corpus luteum, the theca interns became hypertrophic and displayed the ultrastructural features of active steroidsecreting cells. But this phenomenon was not seen in the follicles of the ovary with corpus luteum. 3. Degenerative changes of cumulus cells were similar to those of granulosa cells, and the degenerating oocytes showed the degeneration of cellular organelles, cytoplasmic vacuolization and disappearance of microvilli on the surface. The degeneration of granulosa cells tended to procede that of oocytecumulus complex in the follicles of the ovary having no corpus luteum, but this tendency was reversed in the case of presence of corpus luteum. In conclusion, it may be unable to identi(y the initiation of follicular atresia

    • Most of intradural epidermoid cyst arise as slowly growing extraaxial lesions but purely intracerebral epidermoid cysts are rare. A 39-year-old female presented with a headache during several months. Brain computed tomography [CT] scan showed a mass lesion in the both frontal lobe with heterogenous density approximately $5{\times}5cm$ in size. Magnetic resonance imaging [MRI] revealed a mass of heterogenous signal intensity on T1, T2-weighted image and faint enhancement with gadolinium [Gd]. Through the both interhemispheric approach, mass was removed subtotally except the calcified portion tightly attached to the corpus callosum. The patient discharged without neurological deficit. The authors report a case of epidermoid cyst in the corpus callosum and discuss the pathogenesis of the intraparenchymal epidermoid cyst.

    • The most common form of autosomal recessive hereditary spastic paraplegia (HSP) is caused by mutations in SPG11/KIAA1840 gene, which encodes for spatacsin. The clinical presentation of SPG11 is characterized by cognitive impairment, peripheral neuropathy and a thin corpus callosum in brain magnetic resonance imaging. We identified a novel homozygous nonsense mutation (c.6082C>T [p.Q2028]) in exon 32 of SPG11 in Korean siblings. Our findings suggest that this novel homozygous mutation in SPG11 is associated with HSP and with dysgenesis of the corpus callosum.

    • People frequently feel the need of a general searching tool that frees from language barrier when they find information through the internet. Therefore, it is necessary to have a multilingual parallel corpus to search with a word that includes a search keyword and has a corresponding word in another language, Multilingual parallel corpus can be built and reused effectively through the several processes which are judgment of the web documents, sentence alignment and word alignment. To build a multilingual parallel corpus, multi-lingual dictionary should be constructed in each language and HTML should be simplified. And by understanding the meaning and the statistics of document structure, judgment on translated web documents will be made and the searched web pages will be aligned in sentence unit.

    • Recent advances in deep learning for speech and visual recognition have accelerated the development of multimodal speech recognition, yielding many innovative results. We introduce a Korean audiovisual speech recognition corpus. This dataset comprises approximately 150 h of manually transcribed and annotated audiovisual data supplemented with additional 2000 h of untranscribed videos collected from YouTube under the Creative Commons License. The dataset is intended to be freely accessible for unrestricted research purposes. Along with the corpus, we propose an open-source framework for automatic speech recognition (ASR) and audiovisual speech recognition (AVSR). We validate the effectiveness of the corpus with evaluations using state-of-the-art ASR and AVSR techniques, capitalizing on both pretrained models and fine-tuning processes. After fine-tuning, ASR and AVSR achieve character error rates of 11.1% and 18.9%, respectively. This error difference highlights the need for improvement in AVSR techniques. We expect that our corpus will be an instrumental resource to support improvements in AVSR.

    • To investigate the effect of Corni Fructus(CF) water extracts on the relaxation of the corpus cavernosum, organ bath studies, histochemical and immunohistochemical methods were used and obtained the following results. In the organ bath study, the maximal contraction of the corpus cavernosum tissue by PE showed a significant relaxation effect at $3.0mg/m{\ell}$ of CF water extract. When ${\text\tiny{L}}$-NNA was pretreated corpuscular relaxation effect of CF water extract was significantly inhibited compared without ${\text\tiny{L}}$-NNA pretreatment. In $Ca^{2+}$-free solution, the increase of contraction due to $Ca^{2+}$ influx significantly inhibited in the pretreatment compared with no pretreatment of CF water extract. Histochemical and immunohistochemical studies showed that the ratio of smooth muscle to collagen fiber was increased in the CF group compared to the PE group in the corpus cavernosum, and the eNOS positive reaction increased and the PDE5 positive reaction decreased. These results suggest that CF extract has increased NO production through activation of eNOS and inhibited the action of PDE5 to block the extracellular $Ca^{2+}$ influx, thereby relaxing the smooth muscle of the corpus cavernosum.
