Methods We collected 74 articles on BV acupuncture clinical study for articular diseases of single joint by searching Korean web databases 'Journal of Korean Medicine Rehabilitation', 'Oriental Medicine Advanced Searching Integrated System', 'Korean Traditional Knowledge Portal' from 1999 to 2020 August. Results We summarized the most frequent clinical treatment methods of BV acupuncture for articular diseases of single type joint. Research focused on specific diseases in application of BV acupuncture about some articular type diseases of single joint. It is assumed that the details of treatment for each joint are not related to the type of joint. In clinical study of BV acupuncture, reproducibility was mostly insufficient. Conclusions BV acupuncture clinical study for articular diseases of single joint should be proceed for a number of subjects, to treat various types of disease, by using more safe and detailed treatments.

  • Pure Bombus ignitus venom samples were submitted to two-dimensional gel electrophoresis. A total of 64 excised spots were analyzed by mass spectrometry. Three main proteins resulted in the identification have not been described in other bee venoms before. Dose-dependence against human carcinoma (Hep3B, BT-20, A549 and AGS) were observed from 1ng/ml to 100ng/ml. Expecially, the treatment of 100ng/ml B. ignitus venoms showed the highest cytotoxicity with 55% against hepatocellular carcinoma (Hep3B). The B. ignitus venoms showed strong antimicrobial activities against Enterococcus faecium and Shigella sonnei, and practically antimicrobial activity against the other microorganisms tested. The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) of E. faecium and S. sonnei, were 0.256ug/ml, respectively.

  • Wei symptom(?證) is symptom that reveals muscle relaxation without contraction and muscle relaxation occurs in the lower or upper limb, in severe case, leads to death. This is the clinical report about the Wei symptom(?證)-patient doubt as Transverse Myelitis and Conversion Disorder. The patient was treated by acupuncture, moxibustion, herb medication(十全大補湯), electriccal stimulation theraphy, Bee Venom acupuncture, and had significant improvement in Wei symptom(?證). these results suggest the surface temperature differ remarkably from before being treated. The temperature is measured by using Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging(DITI). The results suggest that oriental medicare is an effective treatment for Wei symptom. We expected that therapeutic value of treatment of both leg Paralysis in the oriental medicine will be higher if more clinical studies and researches are accomplished.

  • Anterior cruciate ligament tear is a common disease of knee injury. We report 1 case of anterior cruciate ligament complete tear diagnosed by MRI(magnetic resonance imaging) imaging and 1 case after reconstruction. Outcomes were measured by visual analogue scale(VAS) and Lysholm knee scoring scale. We applied acupuncture treatment, bee venom injection, bongchuna and prescribed herbal medication. Patients who treated by oriental medical treatments had a significant effect on the pain decrease and range of motion and knee function. Oriental medical treatments are very useful on pain reduction and prevention of muscle contraction, leading to satisfied rehabilitation, as wee as diminishing recurrence after operation.

  • In order to investigate the effects of api-toxin therapy on depression of immune response, mice were exposed to cold stress $(-20^{\circ}C)$) in 30 minutes twice a day and api-toxin(Bee Venom from Korea and U.S.A) therapy was treated to the Kihae $(CV_6)$ locus of human body every two days with 4 sessions of treatment for 8 days. The mice were sensitized i.v. with $5{\times}10^8$ sheep red blood cells (SRBC) on the 4th day and challenged i.d. with $2{\times}10^9$ SRBC 4 days later. Immune Response for delayed type hypersensitivity (DTH), lympocyte transformation(LTT), hemolysin titer(HL), plaque forming cells (PFC) were measured.
