ISAR(Inverse Synthetic Aperture Radar) images represent the 2-D(two-dimensional) spatial distribution of RCS (Radar Cross Section) of an object, and they can be applied to the problem of target identification. A traditional approach to ISAR imaging is to use a 2-D IFFT(Inverse Fast Fourier Transform). However, the 2-D IFFT results in low resolution ISAR images especially when the measured frequency bandwidth and angular region are limited. In order to improve the resolution capability of the Fourier transform, various high-resolution spectral estimation approaches have been applied to obtain ISAR images, such as AR(Auto Regressive), MUSIC(Multiple Signal Classification) or Modified MUSIC algorithms. In this study, these high-resolution spectral estimators as well as 2-D IFFT approach are combined with a recently developed ISAR image classification algorithm, and their performances are carefully analyzed and compared in the framework of radar target recognition.
This study aimed to review Korean-written and English-written studies on music intervention for older adults in terms of research variables and type of music application. Electronic databases and music-related journals were searched and a total of 40 studies, 19 Korean-written and 21 English-written studies, were included for analysis. The results showed that music intervention studies for older adults began to be conducted in Korea in the late 1990s and have continuously increased thus far, which is similar to studies overseas. Emotional area, especially depression, was targeted the most frequently in both studies in Korea and overseas. While singing of traditional folk song or popular music were applied the most in Korean studies, listening to classical music or relaxing music was primarily observed in studies overseas. While both studies in Korea and overseas used original music frequently, Korean-written studies used live music and showed tendency to select music based on preferences of participants more than studies overseas. These results indicate that growing population of older adults and increased needs for successful aging have been sufficiently reflected in studies on music-based intervention. Cultural and societal factors might affect the differences between studies in Korea and studies overseas. Future studies on music intervention considering cultural and societal needs of this population from multidimensional approach were also suggested.
The characteristics of the vibrato of danso, one of the wind instruments in Korean traditional music, have not been studied much. In this study, the characteristics of the vibrato of danso were analyzed using monotones and musical performances. In particular, intonation, vibrato rate, and vibrato extent were measured as a function of time, and their average values for each vibrato tone were also calculated. The results for vibrato rate showed that the vibrato tended to start slowly and then increase very quickly and significantly and the average values for each tone were observed to have a very wide range, which shows that the characteristics of the vibrato of danso are different from those in Western music. In addition, monotones and musical performances showed some different results in vibrato rate and vibrato extent. There have not been many studies that have quantified the intonation, vibrato rate, and vibrato extent in Korean traditional musical instruments, and this is especially true in the case of danso. The results in this study can be used as basic data on danso vibrato. For example, they can be used as reference materials in education, danso virtual instruments, and danso applications.
Traditional music education for infants is the most important step of forming human knowledge. Since their rapid development of intelligence and emotion has an educational value not only it improves the human knowledge but also it makes infants understand the unique emotion of Korean people. Under the several circumstances, however, we have no enough contents for traditional music education. Thus, by researching and analyzing the existing educational contents and complementing them properly for multimedia environment as a form of animation, we perform a series of experiments to infants who are attending to the kindergarten with interactive animations which are familiar with infants. Infants become interested in the contents and after the lesson of the short bamboo flute content, they show the clear improvements for the playing on a musical instrument. This proves that the Korean music educational content realized with animation can be an alternative plan to improve the educational effect by causing enjoyment and interest of infants.
The music videos of BTS go beyond the limit of media promoting music and shows their meaning in various ways and complete the visual message of music through fashion style. BTS' fashion style in the music videos shows a change in symbolic representation of the genre of each album and song, of which gender images are changing aligned with the music messages of BTS. The purpose of this study was to derive gender images of fashion style in BTS music videos and to interpret their meaning based on Judith Butler's theory that performativity creates discourse through iterative process. It is conducted as a research method, an analytical study was conducted in parallel with literature studies and empirical case analysis. The scope of the study was limited to 301 costumes that appeared in 21 official music videos from debut single album '2Cool 4 Skool' released in 2013 to the mini album 'Map of the Soul: Persona' released in 2019. As a result of the analysis, the controversial fashion style, challenging fashion style, boyish fashion style, hybrid fashion style, the playful fashion style were revealed. The conclusion of studying the gender image of BTS, interpreted by this analysis using Judith Butler's theory, is as follows. The gender image of BTS is the traditional image that identifies with the dominant gender discourse, the resistive gender image that intentionally distances mainstream culture, the eclectic image parodying the gender of the opposing term, and the deconstructive image that transcends the dominant gender discourse.

As the electronic processing of music gradually is developed, there has been growing interest in automatical input of music. As a result, various researches which input music in the computer has been studied. However, previous studies have drawbacks that only the experts can do it. In other words, if beginners would like to use traditional production program of music scores than prior knowledge is required. To resolve this, we propose system painting music scores automatically using a bandwidth of soundsource, after extracting the voice sounds created by amateurs. The System provides amateurs with convenience so that they can compose. As well as, the System provides the ability to play music that produced by the computer. By using the system, amateurs can compose using voice and simple system handling. And, they can make a music that plays desired instruments.
This study seeks to analyze vertical integration structure of Korean popular music market focused on corporation concentration and production system by applying production of culture perspective of Peterson, Subject of analysis is Melon weekly music chart(2000-2013), which is No.1 digital music distributor. The result showed vertical integration structure of Korean popular music industry was different from America. Vertical integration of American major was based on open system to be responsible for promotion and distribution by M&A of independent label but entrusted them-with total production to cope-with uncertainty of music market. On the other hand, Korean system was in charge of pure distribution only as digital service provider and it showed modified vertical structure because traditional value chain was destroyed by changing digital music environment. Especially found seriousness of oligopoly by distribution company of conglomerate affiliation. and this is harm against building healthy industry ecosystem in creative economy era and it needs improvement through study of advanced case, open system.

The roots of modern popular music have evolved from blues and jazz music. But now, due to various multimedia developments and the expansion of the online industry, these traditional music is gradually being shunned by the public. When measuring a nation's cultural scale, it does not value only a few genres of popular music. In many advanced countries, music, which has basic artistic value, is trying to support and grow more base expansion in government and businesses, and to meet the needs of consumers. At this time, local jazz and jazz clubs are gradually losing ground, out of dance, rock and ballad music. Everyone should recognize that it is not just a genre of music that is alienated from the trend of the times, but an important part of cultural art that we should develop and nurture systematically. And it should be handled by more media and recognized by the public. Although it is a small market, this paper analyzes the development of jazz music in Korea and various factors that jazz clubs can establish as part of the music industry through analysis of Korean jazz clubs. The artistry and popularity of jazz music, the development of music education programs, the revitalization of government-led performances and the operation of concert halls differentiated from those of broadcasting media will eventually lead to the development of jazz clubs due to the rise of many jazz music lovers. It is also hoped that through the direction of development, we will be able to succeed as a major part of pop culture.
This article discussed the components of traditional art competitions held from 1930 to 1941. Of their various components, observations were made of hosts and sponsors, participants, and evaluations with a focus on the backgrounds and objectives of hosts and sponsors, participant aspects, and evaluation forms. Hosts and sponsors included newspaper companies, social organizations, music companies, stores, individuals, and eups. They hosted and sponsored traditional art competitions with their own respective reasons and justifications and there were multiple commercial and promotional objectives at the base. Participant aspects can be divided into gisaengs and male artists. While the participation of gisaengs was a natural phenomenon, aspects of the traditional art performance world of the 1930s and the quantitative increase of gisaengs had great effects and male artists participated because of the hidden purpose of the competitions, which was the discovery of traditional artists. Evaluation forms were divided into audience evaluations and expert evaluations. Audience evaluations began from 'pan' culture of the past and audience members involved themselves by casting votes and expert evaluations, in which master singers, master dancers, instrumentalists, and lyricists participated, came to the fore through expert courses of traditional art competitions.

This thesis urges the change of the education system of popular music for globalization of K-POP in a longer point of view Korean popular music has developed not only musically but also sound quality itself. Moreover it became popular in a global scale in the name of K-POP. However, it is still limited to idol music, and numerous issues related to the lack of musical talent are emerging Even though the routine of birth and death of several idol groups and singers are still repeated. Recently, the skills of artists enhanced due to audition TV shows but still it's not enough. Under this situation, it is not appropriate to rely on audition TV shows and Entertainment Management companies for picking up talented artists. Therefore, like Classic or Traditional music, schools concentrated for popular music must be founded. If this become enabled, young students going to entertainment companies or to unqualified but expensive private institutes will disappear. Moreover, it can prevent students from lacking behind in their academic activity. In addition, a reformation should be done education colleges for raising popular music educators
