The purpose of this paper is to investigate the three aspects of the construction and common use of old document DB in the foreign countries: i) the processing of old documents, ii) the problem and improvement of DB systems of old documents. and iii) the common use of old document DB. Results from this research are as follows: The National Library of Korea(NLK) copied old documents in the foreign countries from 1982 to 2006 and published the brief catalog. The Reogang Publishing company issued four volumes catalogs of old document in Japan. The National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage(NRICH) investigated old books and published some catalogs of several organizations in Japan. America. France. and all. The National Institute of Korean History(NIKH) investigated old archives and published some catalogs of several organizations in Japan. The characteristics of the Korean Old and Rare Collection Information System(KORCIS) of the NLK, the Old Books Cultural Heritage in Overseas System of the NRICH. and the Korea History DB System and MF Catalog/ Image System of NIKH were described in the DB systems of old documents, the problems of DB systems were checked over and some alternatives were suggested. In the common use of old document DB, KORMARC format and description rules(draft) for archives should be revised to adopt a new standard such as KS editions. and all the institutes involved should thoroughly follow the standards. when creating bibliographic records and digitizing texts. It is necessary to educate and train the specialists of old documents. A government organization should be established to supervise all the procedures of developing technology for sharing digitized resources. using contents. and cooperating with the related internationl organizations and institutes.
This study was carried out to examine the effect of manufacturing factors on physical properties of hardboard (S.I.S) made from the juvenile wood of sycamore (Platanus orientalis L.) The results obtained may be summarized as follows: 1. The difference among the yields of pulp treated with preheat time (defibrate condition) was significant in those of treatments. There was no difference in the yield of pulp treated with defibrate time. The yields of pulp on the tree age classes were shown the difference by 2<4<6<8 years. 2. The specific gravities of hardboard that were treated with hot pressing conditions showed us significantly in those of treatments. There was no difference on the specific gravities among hardboards, treated with resin and wax contents. But in all cases of the specific gravities satisfied the standard which specified the KS F 3203 (Hardboard) 3. The moisture contents of hardboard satisfied the standard which calls for 13-percent below. There were difference in moisture contents between hardboard, treated with preheating time, resin and wax contents and hot pressing conditions. And the moisture contents of hardboard on the tree age classes showed the difference by 2<4<6<8 years. 4. The water absorption and thickness swelling of hardboard treated with defibrations, resin and wax contents, and hot pressing conditions were significant in those of treatments. And the water absorption and thickness swelling of hardboard on the tree age classes showed us the significant difference by 8<6<4<2 years. 5. The difference among the flexural strength in using tested three conditions showed us the difference by defibration$200kg/cm^2$) of hardboard, it is likely to be recommened that the juvenile wood of sycamore is valuable for the raw materials of hardboards.

IEC publications have applied in many countries all over the world such as Europe or Japan and these also have been published as in dustrial standards (KS) and notifications of Korea Food and Drug Administration (KFDA) in Korea. As the general standard of IEC 60601 series for medical electric (ME) equipment was revised as $3^{rd}$ edition in 2005, additional and particular standards have been revised or established newly. Under these circumstances, it is importance for manufacturing and assembling companies or authorized testing companies to understand the trend for revisions of IEC publications. Therefore in this study, the latest version of 3 IEC standards related to medical X-ray equipment : IEC 60601-2-44 for X-ray equipment for computed tomography (CT), IEC 60601-2-45 for mammographic X-ray equipment and IEC 60601-2-54 for X-ray equipment for radiography or radioscopy were covered and analyzed for trends and features accompanied by revision based on IEC 60601-1 $3^{rd}$ Ed. As KFDA notifications in force have referred to the particular standards based on 2nd edition of IEC 60601-1, those revised version of 3 particular standards were compared to KFDA notifications in force. The features of the latest standards applying IEC 60601-1 $3^{rd}$ Ed were shown as following: 1) Requirements for mechanical hazards, especially (motorized) moving parts were emphasized. 2) Indication and recording of patient dose were required. 3) Risk management process was introduced and enabled to monitor potential risks systematically. 4) DR system (digital radiography system) as well as analogue system (film-screen system) was included in the scope. Presently, KFDA will revise the notifications applying the particular standards based on IEC 60601-1 $3^{rd}$ Ed in a few years. Therefore the features of particular standards applying IEC 60601-1 $3^{rd}$ Ed was expected to help manufacturers, assemblers or testing companies of medical electric equipment understand IEC publications or KFDA notifications slated to be published.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety of a wire connector fabricated for the effective installation of a lighting fixture including its contact resistance, insulation resistance, withstanding voltage characteristics, etc., and to provide the basis for the analysis and judgment of PL(Product Liability) dispute by presenting a damage pattern due to a general flame and overcurrent. This study applied the Korean Standard (KS) for the incombustibility test of the connector using a general flame and performed an overcurrent characteristics test of the connector using PCITS (Primary Current Injection Test System). The contact resistance of the housing connector was measured using a high resistance meter and the insulation resistance was measured using a multimeter. In addition, a supply voltage of AC 1,500V for testing the withstanding voltage characteristics was applied to both ends of the connector. Measurement was performed on 5 specimens and the measured values were used as a basis for judgment. Since the connector is fabricated in the form of a housing, it can be connected and separated easily and has a structure that allows no foreign material to enter. In addition, since it has a structure that allows wires to be connected only when their polarity is identical, any misconnection that may occur during installation can be prevented. When the incombustibility test was performed by applying a general flame to the connector, it showed outstanding incombustibility characteristics and the blade and blade holder connected to the housing remained firmly secured even after the insulation sheath (PVC) was completely destroyed by fire. In addition, the mechanism of the damaged connecting wire showed a comparatively uniform carbonization pattern and it was found that some residual melted insulation material was attached to both ends. In the accelerated life test (ALT) to which approximately 500% of the rated current was applied, the connector damage proceeded in the order of white smoke generation, wire separation, spark occurrence and carbonization. That is, it could be seen that the connector damaged by overcurrent lost its own metallic color with traces of discoloration and carbonization. The contact resistance of the connector at a normal state was 2.164mV/A on average. The contact resistance measured after the high temperature test was 3.258mV/A. In addition, the insulation resistance after the temperature test was completed was greater than $10G\Omega$ and the withstanding voltage test result showed that no insulation breakdown occurred to all specimens showing stable withstanding voltage and insulation resistance characteristics.

The corrosion of reinforcements embedded in concrete causes some durability problems in reinforced and prestressed concrete structures. The epoxy coated reinforcements are one of the effective and reliable methods to prevent corrosion of reinforcements. However, it has been known that the epoxy coating reduces the bond capacity of reinforcement to concrete. This paper investigates the bond behaviors of epoxy coated reinforcements experimentally using direct pull-out test. Bond behaviors of epoxy coated bars for various reinforcement diameters of 10, 19 and 29mm and thicknesses of cover concrete of 1, 2, 3, and $4.5c/d_b$ (ratio of cover to bar diameter) are examined. Total 66 specimens were manufactured and tested according to the RILEM standard method. As the diameters of the epoxy coated reinforcements increase, the difference of bond strength between epoxy coated reinforcements and uncoated bars also increases. Epoxy coated bars showed more than 85% bond performance compared to those of uncoated bars. A new formular for estimating basic development length of epoxy coated reinforcement based on equilibrium equation is proposed using this experimental result.

This research surveys actual conditions in order to examine the lighting environments of the elderly's residential 50 households. The results is as following. First, The elderly indicated that they felt the living room and the kitchen are usual degree, dark only in bedrooms and rest rooms of brightness. And about satisfactory degree of residential illumination is being above of usual Satisfaction. Second, Problems of lighting environments of elderly's houses were brightness and management, when lighting environmental reconstruct, considered brightness and equipment superannuation, and they want the focus on brightness in the reconstruction. Third. Operating method of lighting was used almost overall lighting in bedroom and bathroom, overall lighting and part lighting are used together in kitchens. The living room has a lot of cases which uses only a general illumination, but the cases which overall lighting and part lighting are used together has occupied 40[%]. Fourth, An average Illuminance of the bedroom is 104.17[lx], an average unifonnity ratio is 60.22[%]. The livingroom's average is 116.15[lx], 51.48[%]. The sink's average is 236.40[lx], the table average is 160.73[lx] in the kitchen. The washstand's average is 109.81[lx], the chamber's average pot is 74.33[lx] in the bathroom. These results are generally darker than the standard.

Providing marine signal lanterns with advantages of little weight as well as large aperture, a Fresnel lens has been adopted to transfer the beam from the lanterns up to 10 nautical miles (18.53 km). A Fresnel lens with the diameter of 250 mm and 300 mm was designed by a lens design program and optimized by adjusting the groove parameters of the lens. The angular luminous intensity distribution (ALID) of this lens was calculated by using an illumination analysis program considering the ALID of a light bulb. At the best alignment of the bulb, the maximum luminous intensities (MLI) of the lantern were 1000 cd (in the case of 250 mm diameter) and 1300 cd (in the case of 300 mm diameter). These are more than the critical value of 720 cd that is the Korean Standard of MLI for the marine lantern. The ALID was investigated as a function of misalignment from the lens focus to determine the tolerance of the alignment ranges.

Recently there has been increasing interest in the filter to reduce the proportion of low-energy photons in the polychromatic X-ray, affect the quality of the image quality by X-ray hardening effect is a situation that has been overlooked. In this study, by evaluating the change in FSR based on the filter and it was quantitatively discuss scatter dose affecting the medical image quality. The results of the experiment, as the thickness of the filter is increased, up to 13.9%p, that tends to FSR increases appearance were evaluated. Based on these results, in compliance with the thickness of the filter that has been recommended in KS standard, even while reducing the radiation dose of the patient, in addition to the noise to about 1%p within the FSR only medical image the contribution to it is conceivable. Therefore, even while reducing radiation dose of the patient, in order to improve the quality of the medical image, the use of appropriate filter is considered important.

This study has focused on the possibility for recycling of tailings from the sangdong tungsten mine as powder (TA) of self-compacting concrete (SCC). The experimental tests for entrapped water ratio were carried out in accordance with the specified method by Okamura. The rheological measurements of cement paste were conducted by using a commercially digital Brookfield viscometer (Model LVDV-II+) equipped with cylindrical spindles, also tests for slump-flow, time required to reach 500 mm of slump flow (sec), time required to flow through V-funnel (sec) and filling height of U-box test (mm) were carried out in accordance with the specified by the Japanese Society of Civil Engineering (JSCE). The results of this study, entrapped water ratio was decreased with increasing replacement of TA. Thickness of pseudo water film was increased, and mean plastic viscosity was decreased with increasing replacement of TA. And slump-flow of SCC was decreased with increasing replacement of TA. But time required to reach 500 mm of slump flow (sec), time required to flow through V-funnel (sec) and filling height of U-box test (mm) were satisfied a prescribed range. The mechanical properties including compressive strength, splitting tensile strength and elastic modulus were checked with the requirements specified by Korean Industrial Standard (KS). The compressive strength of SCC was decreased with increasing replacement of TA, splitting tensile strength and elastic modulus were similar to those of normal concrete.

The focus of this study is to evaluate the field applicability of the newly developed inorganic thixotropic-grout in various ways. In order to do this, the volume stability and the permeability of the inorganic thixotropic-grout have been measured and compared to the existing silica type grouts. In addition, the filling capability of the grout into the tail void has been evaluated through both an experiment with a miniature tail-void filling equipment and a test filling at the shield TBM construction site. The volume loss of the inorganic thixotropic-grout after a 14 day-curing under the atmosphere condition was appeared to be minimal. The excellent waterproofing ability of the inorganic thixotropic-grout was confirmed through a permeability test. The toxicity of the inorganic thixotropic-grout has been evaluated through a toxicity test of aquatic fishes (KS M 0111) and the pH value of the liquid eluviated from inorganic thixotropic-grout was measured as an average of 8.0 and a fatality rate of goldfish after 96 hours was 10% or so. The existence of harmful heavy metals in the liquid eluviated from the inorganic thixotropic-grout has been also examined through an atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS) test. Any of harmful heavy metals were not detected and the detected level of $Cr^{6+}$ and Cd was far below the standard. Based on both an experiment with a miniature tail-void filling equipment and a test filling at the shield TBM construction site, the filling ability of inorganic thixotropic-grout into the tail void was proved to be excellent.
