본 연구에서는 청미래 덩굴 뿌리 추출물의 미백효과를 확인하기 위해서 tyrosinase 저해활성 및 미백관련 인자인 MITF, TRP-1, TRP-2, tyrosinase의 단백질 및 유전자 발현억제 효과를 western blot, reverse transcription-PCR 및 real time-PCR을 측정하였다. 그 결과 우수한 tyrosinase 저해활성을 확인하였고, 미백관련 인자 MITF, TRP-1, TRP-2, tyrosinase 단백질 및 유전자 발현측정에서도 4가지 인자 모두 발현이 억제됨으로써 미백 효능이 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 따라서 청미래 덩굴 뿌리 추출물이 미백 효능을 가짐으로써 화장품 소재로 응용이 가능할 것으로 판단된다.

The purpose of this study was to examine the uniform image of Korean herbal cosmetic brands amongst Korean and Chinese consumers. This study would enable us to explore a BI strategy to enhance international competitiveness of Korean herbal cosmetics brands. The results were as follows. The key words of BI pursued by Sulwhasoo were dignified, novel, graceful, soft, gaily, natural, Korean, modern, and international. Korean people felt that the uniform was graceful and soft, which accorded with Sulwhasoo BI, but also it was trite and dingy, indicating a negative and opposing image. On the other hand, Chinese people felt that the uniform was dignified, novel, graceful, natural, modern, and international, indicating that it matched with Sulwhasoo BI. In The History of Whoo, the key words of BI pursued by the brand were precious, soft, gorgeous, gaily, and natural. The Koreans felt that the uniform was intelligent, and decent, but conversely, it was also austere and dingy, indicating a negative image. The Chinese felt that the uniform was common, hard, austere, dingy, and unnatural, indicating an opposing image to BI. Finally, a uniform design was developed to improve on its problems, establish The History of Whoo's brand identity, and its brand image. First of all, 'The Quintessence : noble passion' was set up as a developmental concept. The textiles, clothing, and accessories were designed using the symbolic elements from The History of Whoo as a motif. Uniforms were developed for spring, fall, and summer.

Objectives : This study was performed to investigate physiology, pathology and clinical applications for cosmetology in Traditional Chinese Medicine. We hope most clinicians practicing cosmetic acupuncture to understand theoretical background well and to treat cosmetic diseases more diversely by this paper. Methods : We collected useful informations from 35 papers in Chinese at website www.cnki.net about TCM treatments including acupuncture, moxibustion and herbal medicine. And we could see important factors connected with physiology, pathology and clinical applications within this field. Conclusions : Liver, lung, stomach, mental disorders and yin-deficiency constitution were connected each other in cosmetic physiology. Blood stasis and congestion were thought highly in cosmetic pathology. In clinical applications, wet cupping therapy on the acupoints located in the back line of Governor Vessel(GV), ear-acupuncture, acupuncture using local facial acupoints, pharmacopuncture, moxibustion were used diversely for each case with cosmetic disorders. Especially, local acupoints and remote acupoints were selected at the same time for wrinkle care. And studies on plastic surgery sequelae, dark skin, acne and melasma were more published than those on wrinkle care.

최근 미세먼지, 내분비장애, 환경 호르몬등에 의해 피부 염증 질환 환자들이 증가함에 따라 화장품 소재 개발 연구는 스테로이드, 항히스타민제 등의 피부염 치료 합성화합물 보다 이를 대체할 수 있는 천연물 기반의 보다 안전한 소재 발굴에 관심이 더 증가되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 여러 가지 천연 약재 스크리닝을 거쳐 피부 효능 효과가 검증된 두충, 익지인, 백강잠의 한방추출물(Mix)을 선정하고, 이들의 새로운 피부효능을 규명하여 천연 화장품 소재를 개발하고자 하였다. 우선 한방추출물(Mix)의 항산화 효능을 검증하기 위해 DPPH assay를 수행한 결과 $400{\mu}g/mL$ 농도 조건에서 약 98.8% DPPH radical 소거 활성을 확인하였다. 한방추출물(Mix)의 미백효능을 확인하기 위해 B16F10 세포주를 활용하여 한방추출물에 의한 멜라닌 합성량을 측정하였다. $400{\mu}g/mL$ 농도 조건에서 ${\alpha}-MSH$ 처리군 대비 27.1% 수준까지 멜라닌 합성량이 감소하여 미백효능 활성에 대해 유의성 있는 결과를 확인하였다. 또한 한방추출물(Mix)의 항염증 효능을 확인하기 위해 LPS 자극으로 활성화된 RAW264.7 대식세포에서 NO(nitric oxide) 합성 및 iNOS, COX-2의 유전자 발현을 관찰한 결과 모두 유의적으로 감소되는 것을 확인하였다. 염증성 사이토카인으로 알려진 $IL-1{\alpha}$, $IL-1{\beta}$, IL-6, $TNF-{\alpha}$의 mRNA 발현을 분석한 결과에서도 한방추출물에 의해 효과적으로 억제되는 것을 확인하였다. 마지막으로 피부장벽 기능 강화를 확인하기 위해 인간 각질형성세포인 HaCaT을 이용해 tight junction 구성 단백질인 claudin 1 유전자의 발현 변화를 관찰한 결과 한방추출물에 의해 mRNA 발현이 농도 의존적으로 증가되는 것을 확인하였다. 따라서 본 연구를 통해 우리는 두충, 익지인, 백강잠을 함유한 한방추출물(Mix)이 항산화, 항염, 미백, 그리고 피부장벽 강화 등에 유효한 소재임을 확인하였고, 향후 피부 임상시험 등이 이뤄진다면 피부염 환자에 효과적인 천연 화장품 소재로 개발될 수 있을 것이다.

아시아에서 한방약초로 널리 알려진 당귀 추출물의 미백활성을 알아보기 위하여 tyrosinase 저해활성을 측정한 결과 1,000 ${\mu}g/ml$의 농도에서 70% 이상의 활성을 나타내었다. 또한 당귀 추출물에 대한 멜라노마 세포(B16F10)의 세포생존율을 확인한 결과 500 ${\mu}g/ml$의 농도에서 99% 이상의 세포생존율을 확인할 수 있었다. 미백 관련 인자인 MITF, TRP-1, TRP-2 및 tyrosinase의 mRNA 발현량을 측정한 결과 50 ${\mu}g/ml$의 농도에서 각각 85.7%, 123.9%, 68.8%, 208%로 당귀 추출물을 처리하지 않은 군보다 감소하였음을 확인할 수 있었다. 이러한 연구 결과에 따라 당귀 추출물이 melanin 합성과 관련이 있는 유전자 발현의 억제효과가 있음을 확인할 수 있었으며, 미백 화장품 소재로서의 가능성을 확인하였다.

선학초 열수 추출물과 에탄올 추출물의 분획물을 항산화 및 주름개선의 소재로 이용하기 위하여 생리활성을 검증하였다. 항산화효과를 확인하기 위하여 전자공여능을 측정한 결과 선학초 열수추출물(AW)과 에탄올추출물(AE) 모두 ethyl acetate층 1,000 ppm에서 각각 96.2, 92.3%의 효과를 나타내었고, SOD 유사활성능을 측정한 결과 AW의 ethyl acetate층에서 61.8%의 활성을 AE의 $n$-butyl alcohol 층에서 58.0%의 높은 활성을 각각 나타내었다. 또한 xanthine oxidase저해활성을 측정한 결과 AW와 AE에서 모두 ethyl acetate층 1,000 ppm일 때, 각각 84.9, 92.5%의 가장 높은 저해율을 나타내었다. 주름개선 효능 확인을 위해 elastase 저해활성을 측정한 결과 이 또한 AW와 AE 모두에서 ethyl acetate층이 각각 55.2, 70.1%의 효능을 나타내었으며, collagenase 저해활성을 측정한 결과 AW의 ethyl acetate층이 90.6%로 가장 높은 저해율을, AE는 88.6%로 $n$-butyl alcohol 층이 가장 높은 저해율을 나타내었다. 이상의 결과로 미루어 보아 선학초의 열수 추출물과 에탄올 추출물의 분획물이 in vitro상에서 항산화 및 주름개선의 활성이 있음을 확인할 수 있었다.

Objectives: As treating acne is difficult and demands of cosmetic are increasing, the development of new Korea traditional herbal formulation and functional cosmetics of acne is required. The aim of this study is the discovery and composition for the development of new Korea traditional herbal formulation and functional cosmetics of acne. Methods: Searched patent informations related to herbal cosmetics published in 1996~2014, we extracted the patent information and analysis component about effecting of anti-inflammatory and anti-acne. Results: Out of 759 patent informations we searched, 72 those about effecting anti-inflammatory and anti-acne were selected. Also, 159 components of 72 patent informations were reclassified by frequency and characteristic. Conclusions: We expect the effect and safety of new traditional herbal formulation which is composed of high frequency herb in patent informations related to herbal cosmetics.

In this study, we investigated the effect of ethanol extracts from Gentianae scabrae bunge (GSB) on the activities of antioxidant, whitening and anti-inflammation. Viability of cells was measured by neutral red (NR) assay, and inhibitory effects of GSB on melanin synthesis was determined the melanin production in B16F10 cells. The expression level of matrix metalloproteinase-1 (MMP-1) in media was analyzed by ELISA kit, and nitric oxide (NO) production in RAW264.7 cells was monitored by measuring the nitrite content in culture medium. GSB showed highly efficacy in 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging activity, and significantly reduced melanin synthesis in B16F10 cells. MMP-1 production in UVB-stimulated human dermal fibroblast (HDF) cells was inhibited by GSB treatments. NO production was suppressed by the treatment of GSB in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 cells. From this results, it was indicated that GSB could be utilized as anti-aging and whitening cosmetic ingredients.
