Objectives: This case study was designed to evalute the effect of Korean medical treatment on genital ulcer. Methods: This patient was treated with herbal medicine of Palmul-tang (八物湯), Yongdamsagan-tang (龍膽瀉肝湯), acupuncture and herbal applications. This efficacy of treatment was evaluated with inspection and patient's report. Results: After treatments, the patient's symptoms such as genital ulcer, erythema and swelling were improved. Conclusions: This case report shows that the Korean medical treatment is effective in the treatment of genital ulceration.

Purpose: Hominis placenta have used widely for women's disease like climacteric syndrome, dysmenorrhea, infertility, but we don't have enough evidence with it. This study is to investigate efficacy and safety of Hominis Placenta on women by investigating papers. Methods: We searched for papers which had Hominis placenta, placental extract associated with women's disease in the Pubmed and Korean journals. Results: 20 papers were found. 15 papers were associated with menopausal disorder. Hominis placenta could have the efficacy on osteoporosis and climacteric syndrome induced by menopause. And each 2 papers were relevant to postpartum symptoms and menses. 1 papers was relevant to pregnancy. Most of studies have shown that Hominis placenta is useful for female disorders. Conclusions: Hominis placenta could be a good treatment for female disorder like climacteric syndrome, dysmenorrhea, infertility. But evidence is not enough with Hominis placenta, so more research will be needed.

Objectives: The aim of this study is to review clinical studies of Hominis Placenta Pharmacopuncutre on Obstetrics & Gynecology diseases. Methods: Key words "Jahageo Yakchim", "Hominis Placenta Pharmacopuncture", "Human Placenta Pharmacopuncture", "Hominis Placenta Pharmacoacupuncutre" were searched on 6 database systems (DBpia, KISS, KTKP, NDSL, Pubmed, CENTRAL) on August 31th 2018. Results: 1 case reports and 4 controlled studies were collected in accordance with the selection and exclusion criteria. The study design, study results and method of intervention were analyzed. Conclusions: This review shows the necessity of large-scale well designed clinical studies of Hominis Placenta Pharmacopuncture on Obstetrics & Gynecology diseases to evaluate the efficacy and safety.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to analyze the research trends using manual therapy in obstetrics and gynecological diseases. Methods: We searched for studies that performed manual therapy on diseases related to obstetrics and gynecology. All relevant papers were selected and extracted to be analyzed. Results: 12 Randomized controlled trials, 8 cases, 3 pilot studies, 3 non-comparative studies, and 1 before-after comparative study were collected. The study subjects, results, techniques of manual therapy used were analyzed. There were studies related to pregnancy-related symptoms, postpartum pain, dysmenorrhea, chronic pelvic pain, abnormal uterine bleeding, sexual dysfunction, and childbirth. Conclusions: It has been found that various manual therapies can be used for obstetrics and gynecological diseases.

Objectives: To identify effects and safety of Korean traditional herbal medicine and auricular acupuncture for hyperemesis gravidarum patients. Methods: Korean traditional herbal medicine and auricular acupuncture were applied to 4 hyperemesis gravidarum patients, and we investigated changes of symptoms, continuance of pregnancy, and whether they delivered or not. Results: Hyperemesis gravidarum symptom was improved in 3 patients, and 1 patient showed complete recovery. Among them, 2 patients had children by natural childbirth, 1 patient had a repeat cesarean due to previous cesarean section, and 1 patient has been maintaining pregnancy well for 25weeks. Conclusions: It is confirmed that symptoms of hyperemesis gravidarum patients were improved by Korean traditional herbal medicine and auricular acupuncture, and these medical interventions are safe.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to find the effect of Far Infrared Radiation (FIR) about improvement of chief complaints and health state. Methods: For this study we evaluated thermographic images, heart rate variability (HRV), visual analogue scale (VAS) score of 34 patients with various diseases. Tests were done two times, before and after treatments and we compared the test results. We used the temperature difference between CV12 and CV4, both sides of PC8, LR3 for recognizing improvement of blood circulation. We analyzed the change of complexity, stability of autonomic nervous system (ANS) by HRV test. The patients were asked to fill out questionnaire about the severity of symptoms by VAS score. Analyses were undertaken using SPSS ver.12.0.1 and p-value of < 0.05 was considered significant. Results: Statistical analysis shows that Far Infrared Radiation (FIR) had significant efficiency in increasing surface temperature and reducing VAS pain scores. In heart rate variability (HRV) test, LF/HF ratio showed tends to improve. Conclusions: The application of an FIR to whole body appears to alleviate various complaints of patients.

Objectives : Chronic pelvic pain (CPP) is a common gynecologic symptoms. Various diseases, specially irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), ovarian cysts, and endometriosis, can occur CPP, but the medicines and the operations which used on these diseases have many side effects and even if patients get treatments, pain usually remain due to the pathology is not accord with the pain or the cause is not clear. There are some cases about effective of the Korean medicine therapies, but cases are still deficiency and case series has not been reported. We have a case series of CPP treated by Korean medicine treatment, so we report a case series on CPP. Methods : 6 patients, who suffered from CPP, were enrolled in this study. They received Korean medicine therapies such as herbal medicine, moxibustion, and acupuncture. Results : CPP was reduced by Korean medicine therapies. Conclusions : The present study suggests that Korean medicine therapies have a effect on CPP.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine acupuncture and moxibustion treatment suggested on the papers of urinary incontinence(UI) in medicine journals and to establish the future direction. Methods: The papers which were associated with acupuncture and HG published between 1992 and 2012 in Medline and Scopus were searched. Results: 14 studies met the condition. They were 3 randomized controlled trials(RCTs) and 5 clinical studies. 8 studies revealed that acupuncture and moxibustion have efficacies in UI. Conclusions: From the paper research, acupuncture and moxibustion treatment seem to be effective on UI. However, due to the lack sufficient research of UI, it would be necessary to fulfill further study about the period of acupuncture and moxibustion treatment on UI and the selection of acupoint through well-designed study and establish standard of evidence of them.
