Purpose: The purpose of this study was to find out the correlation among Shift Rotation, dysmenorrhea and digestion function. Methods: We conducted a questionnaire survey of 161 nurses about their menstruation and digestion function from several hospitals from Oct to Nov in 2009. Using chi-square test and pearson correlation, statistical analysis was made by SPSS 12.0. We significance level p-value was determined as 0.05. Results: 1. There was no significant correlation between Shift Rotation and the severity of dysmenorrhea. 2. There was statistically mild correlation between Shift Rotation and digestion power. 3. There was statistically mild correlation between dyspepsia and the severity of menstruation. Conclusion: From above results, we could conclude that Shift Rotation, dyspepsia had mild relation to menstruation.

Purpose: To report the effect of oriental medicine on a infertile patient with endometriosis diagnosed as a IVF case due to pelvic adhesion. Methods: The patient who had infertility problem with pelvic adhesion from endometriosis in spite of 2 times of IVF trials was treated with the oriental medicine such as herbal medication, herbal acupuncture and moxibustion therapy, and so forth. Results: After the oriental medical treatments, the patient could give a natural birth to a healthy baby. Conclusion: This case report shows that the oriental medical treatment is effective for treating infertility of endometriosis with pelvic adhesion.

Objectives: This study is to report the effect of oriental medicine on a cervical incompetence patient. Methods: The effectiveness of surgical cerclage in the cervical incompetence have had prolonged controversy. Herbal medicine was given to a cervical incompetence patient whom was suggested surgical cerclage. The patient was a 40-year-old female and treated with Dojeukgangki-tang gagambang. Results: After oriental herbal treatment, the clinical symptom of a cervical incompetence was improved and maintained, the patient was delivered in 38 weeks through cesarian section. Conclusions: Oriental herbal medicine and treatment have possibility to be a useful alternative to the surgical cerclage on cervical incompetence on the basis of more persistent study.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to report the clinical effectiveness of oriental medicine on genital eczema. Methods: The Yongdamsagan-tang was used for relieving pruritus, skin flare and the other symptoms. The efficacy of treatment was evaluated with inspection and patient's report. Results: After treatments, the symptoms of genital and hand eczema were improved and the patient has not reoccurred. Conclusions: This case report shows that the herbal medication relieves the pruritus, skin flare and the other symptoms caused by genital eczema.

Purpose: In postpartum period, women are very weak and liable to various diseases. So postpartum care is very important. But excessive heating and sweating cause postpartum diseases. Methods: The patient in this case, 37 years-old female was in Kyunghee University East-West neo medical center for 8days(27th/Oct/2006 - 3rd/Nov/2006). Her chief complains when she was admitted in the hospital were sweating, chilling, and mild dizziness. These symptoms were caused by excessive heating and sweating. We thought that her condition was deficiency of Qi. After giving her the therapies with herb medicine, acupuncture and moxibustion, her symptoms got almost disappeared and her condition got better. Results: After the oriental medical treatment, the clinical symptom of postpartum disease was improved. Conclusion: This case study shows that excessive heating and sweating cause postpartum diseases and the oriental medical therapy is effective in treating postpartum disease. And the guideline of postpartum care is needed.

Objectives: This study was reported to confirm the effect of Sobokchugeo-tang (SC) on complications of post-hysterecomy. Methods: Four women who were operated a hysterectomy within a month were enrolled in this study. They complained of abdominal pain, lumbago, both leg numbness, dizziness, etc. And received oriental treatments to decrease pain and improve the symptoms. Sobokchugeo-tang 3 times a day was prescribed, their complcation were decreased compared with first visit. Results: A hysterecomy can lead to comlications. They complained of various symptoms. After the treatment, abdominal pain, both leg numbness were rapidly decreased and lumbago, dizziness were improved too. Conclusions: These clinical cases indicated that sobokchugeo-tang was effective in the treatment of women who undertaken a hysterecomy.

Purpose: Bell's palsy is a peripheral facial palsy of unknown etiology. During pregnancy, there is an increased incidence of Bell's palsy. Due to the nature of pregnancy, it is unlikely to treat Bell's palsy during pregnancy. The purpose of this study is to report on 3 patients with Bell's palsy during pregnancy, who improved by oriental medical treatment. Methods: The patients who had Bell's palsy during pregnancy were treated with oriental medical treatment such as herbal medication and acupuncture therapy. House-Brackmann facial nerve grading system was used to estimate the efficacy of these treatments. Results: After the oriental medical treatment, the clinical symptoms of Bell's palsy during pregnancy were improved. Conclusion: This case study shows that the oriental medical therapy is effective in treating Bell's palsy during pregnancy. Further systematic studies and specific guidelines of Bell's palsy during pregnancy would be of much value.

Purpose: This study intends to report the effects of Koong Gui Tang on Cold Hypersensitivity caused by acute and chronic Blood Deficiency. Methods: The patients having Cold Hypersensitivity were treated with oriental medicine including herbal medication therapy. Thereafter their health status was analyzed with their own empirical assessments and VAS. Results: After the series of medical treatment, Cold Hypersensitivity caused by acute and chronic Blood Deficiency has shown considerable improvement. Conclusion: This case study shows that Koong Gui Tang therapies are medically effective on Cold Hypersensitivity caused by acute and chronic Blood Deficiency.

Purpose: To report the effect of oriental medicine on 2 patients with secondary amenorrhea diagnosed as hypothalamic-pituitary failure. Methods: The patients who had secondary amenorrhea were treated with the oriental medical treatments such as herbal medication, herbal acupuncture and moxibustion therapy, and so forth. Results: After the oriental medical treatments, the patients could have their periods again, their menstrual condition was improved. Conclusion: This case report shows that the oriental medical therapy is effective for treating secondary amenorrhea diagnosed as hypothalamic-pituitary failure.

Purpose: This paper is aim to report the effects of Gamchosasim-tang(GCT) on the genital ulcer suggested Behcet's disease. Methods: The patient in this case was 45-year-old. The chief complains were genital ulcers, mouth ulcers, fatigue, skin lesions (hand site), eye discomfort. She was treated by GCT. The progress of symptoms were evaluated by visual analogue sclae. Results: After the treatments, genital ulcer pain and mouth ulcer pain disappeared, fatigue, skin lesions, eye discomfort decreased. Conclusion: This clinical case indicate that GCT is effective in treatment of the genital ulcers. And GCT is considered that good effect is to Behcet's disease.
