An Internet-based Survey on the Characteristics of Energy Consumption of Apartment (인터넷을 이용한 공동주택의 에너지소비특성 실태조사)

  • The purpose of this study is, by the method of the internet-based survey, to understand the relations between the residential condition and the characteristics of energy consumption. The followings are the results of this study. $\circled1$ Among 601 responses, evaluable 329s means that the user fully understanding what this survey is for. $\circled2$ Gas-or oil-burners occupy 80% of heater. $\circled3$ Contrary to expectations, we can not find out the relations between the cooling area and the cooling capacity of Air-conditioners. $\circled4$ There is no relation between the direction of apartment and the cooling capacity, neither. $\circled5$ During the summer, average and maximum monthly electric fare for cooling is ₩198/$\textrm{m}^2$ and ₩461/$\textrm{m}^2$, respectively. $\circled6$ And during the winter, average and maximum monthly electric fare for heating is ₩335/$\textrm{m}^2$ and ₩484/$\textrm{m}^2$, respectively.

  • Recently remodelling has been popular with the consensus on the environment protection, resources saving, and regards on the cultural value of buildings. and the remodelling is considered as a useful tool for commercial and apartment buildings. But, in Korea, the remodelling has been introduced recently and there is few reserches on the evaluation methods for value analysis in the remodelling. This research deals with economical selection method among various alternatives for living environment upgrading of old buildings. Also, this reserch studied on the selection method for the architect among various remodelling plans considering cost, building life cycle, and user needs when the remodelling is selected as the most economical method.

  • In recent years, residential apartment building parking lots are built in underground spaces, and with conjunction to improve the environment of the urban area, artificial greeen roof systems are installed on the upper slabs. However, early plant growth are resulting in root penetration into concrete cracks and in turn into the waterproofing membranes, leading to degradation and damaging of the waterproofing system and structural durability. This issue highlights a problem of conventional maintenance system of concrete structures, and proposals for amendments follow. In this study, a waterproofing and root barrier construction design for the upper slabs of residential building underground parking lots is proposed, and motioned to be added into future construction specifications.

  • It was 15 years since the remodeling system was introduced in 2001 and the remodeling system was implemented due to the amendment of the housing law. From now on, the remodeling will be settled in the direction of important apartment houses, and planning will be the core plan of remodeling. Up to now, the remodeling system has changed according to the market situation, and the planning plan has also changed based on the laws and regulations. In this background, this study summarizes the changes of the regulations related to the remodeling plan and examines the characteristics of the plan according to the changes of the regulations. The remodeling plan can be divided into three periods according to the changes of the regulations, and the contents of the regulations and the characteristics of the plan have been clarified.

  • The condensation performance evaluation is required for improved living environment of apartment housings. In the current condensation performance evaluation process, high demand of manual works and repetitive process cause unexpected risks due to uncertainty and inefficiency by applying 2D CAD drawings in simulation tool. Furthermore, the evaluation requires taking in action responding to the expanding use of BIM. In this study, the analysis of current evaluation process and required functions for the process improvement based on BIM modeling were deducted from interviews with experts. It is expected that the results of this study can be employed to develop of process automation module for condensation simulation evaluation.

Thermal Environment and Heating Regulation System of the Co-Generation Apartment (열병합발전 아파트의 난방조절방식과 온열환경)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the heating regulation systems and the thermal environment of the Co-Generation apartment house in winter. Personal self-administration and interview method were used in the survey of this study. The respondents were 352 housewives who resided in Mokdong apartement using Co-Generation heating systems. Data was analyzed using SPSS PC+ computer package. The results of this study were summarised as follow; The typical patterns of heating regulation systems were intermittent and partial heating in the living room and bedroom exclusive of kitchen area. The present condition of the thermal environment were relatively warm in winter and Heatng regulation systems were influenced by type of location. Determinants of the thermal sensation and thermal comfort were the type of location of apartment as a architectural factor, clo as a personal factor.

  • In this study, the ventilation performance of mechanical ventilation system in apartment House was analyzed through model test according to characteristics of air-vent. Then adequate interval of air-vent was suggested using computer simulation which will create comfort environment through improvement of ventilation performance in apartment house. The result of experiment with separation plate to prevent mixture of contaminated exhaust air with fresh supply air, the ventilation efficiency improved about 10%. The result of simulation with horizontal location of exterior air-vent, contaminated exhaust air is mixed regardless of interval variation. Consequently, mixture of the exhaust air can be prevented through locating the supply air vent on the top side and exhaust air vent on the lower side.

  • Energy consumption analysis of multi-family apartment is an important area of research for the design of energy-saving housing. In this study, we selected a universal type of Flat-type apartments and analyzed the heating energy consumption of variables such as U-value, G-value, infiltration rate, heating setpoint and boiler efficiency with EnergyPlus and eQUEST. With these results, we identify the characteristics of EnergyPlus and eQUEST and provided base data for the design of energy-saving housing. The results indicate that infiltration rate is the most important factors to consider. And eQUEST heating energy consumption is approximately 10% higher compared to the EnergyPlus under same condition.

  • The purpose of this study is to stand assembly the meaning and function of entry space with analysing their social and cultural characteristic. The entry space is the linkable place between inner space and out space, and that is the transition place to be experienced two opposing characteristic. Till now the entry space has not taken effect as symbol needed to the resident and observer, and that has been a tendency to shrink as the minimal sign of entrance. So thus, it is in need of studying the entry space's specific and characterizing structurally as expanded function. For the purpose, this study define newly the meaning, function and composition of entry space in an apartment building, and try to find how to reinforce a resident identity. This study propose justification that the entry space isn't boxing space minimally but enforcing symbol presented clearness of composition and vital character.

A Study on the Reduction Characteristics of Floor Impact Sound Insulation Due to the Ceiling Frame Structures in Apartment Houses (공동주택의 천장틀구조 변화에 따른 바닥충격음 차음특성 연구)

  • Generally the ceiling frame of apartment house is made of wood. But the wood frame has several problems due to the natural properties such as distortion by shrink, low fire resistance and material loss in the construction field. And it has some defections in sound insulation performance. Therefore it is necessary to develop a new method that can be used as a ceiling frame. This study aims to analyze and to compare the sound insulation characteristics against the floor impact sound between wood ceiling frame and M-bar frame which is made of steel. The results of this study are like these. M-bar frame is more effective than wood ceiling frame in sound insulation. And sound absorbing or sound insulation materials which can be Put on gypsum board are helpful to improve floor impact sound insulation performance.
