This paper investigates the relation between operating performance and initial underpricing of companies that go public. A significant decline in operating performance subsequent to the initial public offering(IPO) is found. Additionally there is a significant positive relation between post-IPO operating performance and the level of initial underpricing.

오늘날 기업들은 우수한 인재를 어떻게 유지할 것인가에 많은 노력을 기울이고 있으며, 특히 이직과 관련하여 가장 높은 상관관계를 가지는 이직의도를 파악하는데 초점을 맞추고 있다. 건축 설계사무소의 경우 타 산업현장과 달리 작업에 대한 강도가 크며, 새로운 인재를 육성하는데 시간이 많이 소요될 뿐만 아니라 유연한 노동시장 때문에 쉽게 이적할 수 있다는 특징을 보인다. 통계청에서 제공하는 산업분류별 이직률을 살펴보면 건축 설계사무소가 포함된 전문, 과학 및 기술 서비스업은 전체 산업의 이직률 평균에 비해 상대적으로 높은 것을 알 수 있다. 그러나 지금까지의 이직의도는 타 산업 분야의 종사자를 중심으로 연구가 진행되었으며, 건축 설계사무소 실무자의 이직의도와 관련된 연구는 매우 부족한 실정이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 건축 설계사무소 실무자의 이직의도에 영향을 미치는 결정요인을 도출하고 이를 토대로 각 요인별 중요도 분석을 통해 실무자의 이직의도를 객관적으로 파악하고 대규모와 중소규모 건축 설계사무소의 차이점을 비교분석하는 것을 목적으로 하였다.

Introduction of BIM(Building Information Modeling) was led by public institutions, and all buildings over a certain size were obligated to apply BIM. However, through various attempt to apply BIM to actual practice, people had doubt whether it is a usable technology in reality appeared. Therefore, this study investigated cases about implementation strategies of foreign countries, and conducted survey on BIM performances and preparation in architectural design firms. On the basis of this, it suggests the long-term development strategy of BIM and the basic direction of road map to adopt BIM effectively to domestic architectural design market. After considering the cases abroad and the results of survey, it is identified that incentive policies supporting finance and education should be carried out together with partially obligation method led by government in order to introduce BIM into architectural design market effectively by reflecting current situation of architectural design firms.

The valuation of patents is very important, since technology competitiveness is crucial for firms to maintain global competitiveness. But, the patent valuation is difficult and challenging because of the uncertainty affecting their returns. Hence, we propose a patent valuation method by incorporating game theory into the real option model, which can not only potentially recognizes the effect of uncertainty on patent value, but also consider investment decision in a competitive market, as a game between firms. With the model, we can consider dynamic strategy involving an option of patent leveraging strategies enabling the firm to switch among compete, cooperate, or wait modes under different demand or competitive advantage condition.

Recently, product life-cycles are shortening faster than ever before, and companies with a suggestion system are in better position to overcome this shortening life-cycle and thus promote customer satisfaction. Suggestion systems, however, are not actively utilized on the production floors in many firms. This study showed that small-sized and medium-sized firms where a suggestion system is properly functioning by a strong will of top management are not many in Gangwon-do area. In considerable number of companies, a suggestion system is informally and spontaneously applied by the workers on the production floors not by company-wide systems. A suggestion system is required as a means of creating future value-added and it is a matter of course that the role of top management, together with middle-class managements' influence is quite important in the course of the successful application of it. A suggestion system, to be successful, calls not only individual efforts but also positive corporate cultures.

In recent years, electronic commerce has provided another access for consumers to purchase products. Shopping on line provides much information and less searching cost for customers, but some researches have pointed out that there are difficulties for companies to do business on web. For lack of trust, many people not prefer purchasing through virtual channels. Based on the literature review, this study aims at empirically testing the impact of website design on individual trust in internet firms. From statistic analysis, we will conclude that security, interaction, and navigation functionality will affect on-line trust. The result of this study may provide some managerial implications, especially for firms which want to enter on-line businesses.

In recent years, there have been attempts to explain firms' capital structure based upon the agency theory which considers agency problems arising due to ownership structure. Agency theory starts from the coctractual relationship (explicit or implicit) between principals and agents. Since uncertainty exists in real world and information is distributed asymmetrically, there are conflicts between principals and agents. The objectives of this study are to analyze, based upon agency theory, factors which are expected to affect firms' capital structure and to test empirically the relevance of agency cost hypothesis about the determination of capital structure, For these purposes, this paper carried out multiple regression in order to examine whether the factors of agency costs affect significantly the determination of capital structure. The results of empirical analysis are summarrized as follows; First, insider-equity ration has been negatively correlated with capital structure. Second, growth opportunity variabless has been insignificant coefficients with capital structure.

As domestic recession has had an adverse impact on many Korean companies in Korea, financial soundness has become a critical issues. It is essential to identify financial risk factors to prevent workout as well as to improve the financial condition of domestic construction companies. Therefore, this study derived important management indicators and the financial ratios that belong to each indicator through a comparative analysis between healthy companies and workout companies with financial statement. As a consequence, key financial ratios are derived into 3 of 25 ratios; Equity Ratio in stability indicator, Total Asset Turnover Ratio in activity indicator, and Labor Equipment Ratio in productivity indicator. So, Korean construction firms are required close monitoring these critical financial ratios indicating variation between construction companies which have opposing statuses in finance in order to keep sound financial condition and increase productivity.

The use of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UASs) in the construction and agriculture industries continues to gain in popularity and use. Firms within these industries have begun to utilize UASs to perform many of the traditional processes and procedures, which can result in a reduction in total work force and costs needed for a task. However, as with any technology, there is a learning curve and UASs do change the way certain activities are completed. Due to this, there exist firms and individuals that have not or are not willing to invest in UASs yet. The objective of this study is to explore the applications of UASs in construction and agricultural industries to discuss the benefits, challenges, and reasons of investing in UASs. This paper conducted an in-depth literature review of current topics on UASs in construction and agriculture. Additionally, six expert interviews were conducted with individuals from construction and agricultural industries in the southeastern United States. Ultimately, this study successfully found several benefits and challenges to using UASs and discussed the reasons that some firms invest in UASs while other still do not.

CM시장이 성장하면서 CM기업의 수도 증가하고 기업 간의 경쟁이 심화됨에 따라 경쟁력 향상을 위한 노력이 필요하게 되었다. 특히 유능한 CM단장을 보유하는 것은 CM기업의 경쟁력 향상을 위한 중요한 현안으로 인식되고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 CM조직의 리더이자 발주자 만족과 프로젝트 성공을 위해 중추적인 역할을 담당하는 CM단장에게 요구되는 핵심역량을 발굴하는 것이다. CM단장에게 요구되는 역량은 다양하지만 문제해결능력, 신뢰도, 협상능력 등이 가장 중요한 핵심역량으로 나타나고 있다. CM단장 핵심역량에 대한 이해는 우수한 CM단장 육성과 CM단장의 자기계발을 위해 중요하며 궁극적으로는 CM기업의 경쟁력 향상을 위한 중요한 전제조건이다.
