Purpose: This study aims to conduct an integrated literature review of infection control studies conducted by nursing care workers in long-term care facilities in Korea. Methods: Through the domestic search engines RISS and KISS, seven articles were selected by searching for theses and academic journals published in Korea from 2008 to January 2020. Results: In total, six research studies and one intervention study out of seven studies were analyzed. Measurement tools for examining the knowledge and performance of infection-related care workers consisted of skin infection, aspiration pneumonia, urinary tract infection, and hand hygiene. Factors affecting nursing care workers' infection management performance were infection management knowledge, education level, health status, and importance awareness. Conclusion: This study showed it is necessary to develop a tool that can accurately measure nursing care workers' infection management knowledge and performance. In addition, it is necessary to develop an intervention program for nursing care workers' infection control.

The purpose of this study is to design semantic web and policy direction for national knowledge and information management. The paper describes all the components needed to accomplish the objective: 1) creating unchangeable and unique identifiers for metadata elements, resources, and ontology classes and properties; 2) recommending active use of XML namespaces; 3) establishing metadata and application profile standards for national integrated searching; 4)developing a metadata registry to promote semantic interoperability among metadata; 5) discussing the need of creating ontologies using W3C OWL and ISO Topic Maps; 6) providing intelligent search services based on metadata; and 7) presenting future directions and tasks of national knowledge and information management.

Structures of stories, paragraphs, and sentences and inferences applied to indexing and searching were studied to construct the full-text and sentence retrieval system for storytelling. The system designed the database of stories, paragraphs, and sentences and the knowledge-base of inference rules to aid to write the story. The Knowledge-base comprised the files of story frames, paragraph scripts, and sentence logics made by mark-up languages like SWRL etc. able to operate in semantic web. It is necessary to establish more precise indexing language represented the sentences and to create a mark-up languages able to construct more accurate inference rules.

Though Korea has received attention through an exceptional economic growth and the big K-POP fever all over the world, its happiness level is not so high. Therefore, this research aims to find not only the Korean' s condition of the happiness and unhappiness, but also the way to enhance their happiness. We collected various web data(89,127 cases from 2013/01 to 2014/12) through searching our own 26 keywords based on Alderfer's ERG Theory. Also, we tried to analyze the subjects related to happiness and unhappiness by using LDA topic modeling. As the result, the condition of happiness and unhappiness were the top topics extracted from each field. We conducted the second detailed analysis based on the data of condition of the happiness and unhappiness which are the top topics of the previous analysis. From the second analysis result, we proposed several ways to enhance happiness from the perspective of government, corporate, family, education, social welfare.This paper is meaningful because it catches the condition of happiness and unhappiness based on a real web data as well as transform the data into the knowledge. Also, this paper provides the practical methods from the view from all walks of life that may enhance happiness and relieve unhappiness.

This study suggests the establishment and applications of the News core thesaurus for efficient indexing and searching of news information. News core thesaurus was constructed as macrothesauri which can cover all of news subjects and then has microthesauri like politics, economy, society, culture, etc. as its subsets. In this research, News core thesaurus embodied 2,012 descriptors and 74 non-descriptors by SKOS(Simple Knowledge Organization System). It suggests measures that treat only special subjects in detail in weekly newspaper or biweekly newspaper with little information and special subjects, which is not daily newspaper, and use each microthesauri by merging or integrating in huge news archives or portal sites.

In this study, we have developed an online learning community site using Humhub social network software and promote social constructive learning through the questions and answers in subject specific learning groups. By accumulating learning contents which consist of questions and answers about specific topics, learners can acquire knowledge by searching relevant topics and questions and can create and reconstruct knowledge as well as consuming knowledge by participating in self-regulated learning community. We have developed a mathematical editor feature which enables users to enter mathematical expression such as equations and greek characters. Online learning community sites can be used for inquiry based information education.

Purpose: This study aimed to determine how undergraduate nursing students' knowledge and health beliefs affected their COVID-19-related infection-prevention behaviors. Methods: This study used a descriptive survey. A total of 188 undergraduate nursing students from two universities in South Korea participated in this study. The data were collected from June 2020 to August 2020. Factors influencing infection-prevention behaviors were identified using multiple regression analysis. Results: The participants' mean knowledge level regarding COVID-19 was 84.05 ± 11.78 out of 100. The average health belief score was 2.80 ± 0.32 points out of 5. COVID-19-related preventive health behaviors were correlated with experiences of searching for COVID-19 information (r = .22, p < .01), perceived severity (r = .24, p < .01), perceived benefits (r = .29, p < .01), cues to action (r = .30, p < .01), knowledge (r = .27, p < .01), and perceived barriers (r = - .19, p < .05). Factors that significantly affected COVID-19-related preventive health behaviors were the participants' years of study, experiences regarding COVID-19 prevention education, perceived severity, perceived barriers, and cues to action. Conclusion: COVID-19-related preventive health behaviors are promoted by increasing awareness about the disease and promoting COVID-19 education in nursing curriculums.

The purpose of this study is to investigate reasearch trend of acupuncture treatment on shoulder impingement syndrome. This study investigated the recent studies about acupuncture treatment for shoulder impingement syndrome via searching Korean and foreign electronic databases(Research Information Services, National Digital Science Library, Oriental Medicine Advanced Searching Integated Services, PubMed, China National Knowledge Infrastructure). The search term was searched by combining 'shoulder impingement sydrome', 'subacrominal pain', 'acupuncture', 'needle therapy', and was limited to the articles published from 2005 to 2017. 14 studies were found to be analyzed according to the type of study, the number of cases, the type of treatment, the instruments for assessment and published year. 14 studies were published since 2005, 6 case reports, 8 randomized controlled trials. In the treatment of shoulder impingement syndrome, treatments such as acupuncture, acupotomy, pharmacopuncture, laser acupuncture, combined treatment of exercise and rehabilitation were performed. Visual analogue scale(VAS), range of motion(ROM) and various questionnaires were used as primary assessments. In each study, acupuncture treatment was reported to have a significant effect in the pain, range of motion and disability of shoulder impingement syndrome. In order to ensure objective evidence on acupuncture treatment, large scale case reports and randomized controlled trials should be continued.

The study is content-based video retrieval system based on the news video domain as researching for the video data processing method for searching the multimedia information. For the implementation of effective system, We retrieval meaning information and special information using the knowing knowledge about formation and structure of the video data. These are possible to retrieval searching by articles fast and accurately by indexing contents the users want to search. The news domain used in experiment of our system is the KBS news on the air nowadays and precision and recall is used to evaluate the experiment and performance.

Objectives : Our study aims to help users take the medicinal materials in a desirable manner by providing toxic and contraindicating information, based on the ontology of medicinal materials in traditional Korean medicine (TKM). Methods : The toxic and contraindicating data are extracted for 160 medicinal materials from 67 books published in Korea and China. The extracted data are linked to the medicinal material in the ontology, respectively. Results : We in this paper construct an ontology for toxic and contraindicating data of medicinal materials in traditional Korean medicine (TKM), extending our conventional ontology. Based on the ontology, we devised a web-based searching tool that enables users to share the toxic and contraindicating information of medicinal materials. Conclusions : The contents in our ontology are facts based on the books, while the addition of clinical knowledge may elaborate the ontology. Moreover, the addition of easy explanations for terminologies in our ontology is required to help users which are not familiar to TKM.
