A Study on Improvement of Electronic Library Services Using User Review Data in Mobile App Market

  • This study aims to analyze users' assessment of electronic libraries in the mobile app market and promote service improvement based on this. To this end, the basic background and purpose of the research, research method, and research scope were first set, and the relevant literature and empirical prior studies were analyzed. Next, users' evaluations of electronic libraries were collected and analyzed from Google Play Store. Based on the results analyzed, measures to improve the quality of electronic libraries were discussed. Based on the results of the study, the following improvement measures are proposed. Need for systemic improvement and stabilization. Provision of applications suitable for multi-device environments. Resumption of services after systematic inspection after updating. Simplification of sign up, log in, and authentication procedures. User support through real-time chat. Introduction of a detailed assessment of reviews. Provision of guidance and user manual for electronic libraries. Improvements to expand user convenience, and Securing differentiation from other similar services.

A Study on Knowledge Media System using the Concept of Special Document (전문 문서 개념을 사용한 지식 미디어 시스템에 관한 연구)

  • The knowledge of the specialized fields has been changed rapidly in the both side of quantity and quality. A hyper media as a knowledge based system is so fixed in the linked media in mutual that we couldn't tell it information provision with the view of users. In this paper, we propose the way of offering intellectual and flexible information which is the same with demand in the side of user, selecting, searching and composing the hypertext at the point of user's view through the design of knowledge media system. Three concepts are used in order to challenge the knowledge media system : special document, agent system and ontology. The special document is a ensure that its activities are coordinated with those of the others within the community, providing a uniform control mechanism. Finally, ontology is a language for exchanging knowledgement, which is a message exchanged among agents to ensure the proper interaction among them. The combination of these three concepts is used to design the prototype of knowledge media system.

Knowledge, Perception, Practice and Barriers of Breast Cancer Health Promotion Activities among Community Pharmacists in Two Districts of Selangor State, Malaysia

  • Breast cancer is the most common cancer and the leading cause of cancer death among women in Malaysia. Despite the campaigns undertaken to raise the awareness of the public regarding breast cancer, breast cancer screening rates are still low in the country. The community pharmacist, as one of the most accessible healthcare practitioners, could play a role in the provision of breast cancer health promotion services to the community. However, there are no documented data regarding the community pharmacists' involvement in breast cancer related health promotion activities. Hence, this study was conducted to examine self-reported knowledge, practice and perception of community pharmacists on provision of breast cancer health promotion services and to investigate the barriers that limit their involvement. This cross-sectional survey conducted between May to September 2010, included a sample of 35 community pharmacists working in the districts of Hulu Langat and Sepang in state of Selangor. A 22-item validated questionnaire that included both closed and Lickert scale questions was used to interview those pharmacists who gave their informed consent to participate in the study. The data was analysed using SPSS. Only 11.3% of the community pharmacists answered all the questions on the knowledge section correctly. The mean overall knowledge of the community pharmacists on risk factors of breast cancer and screening recommendations is 56%. None of the respondents was currently involved in breast cancer health promotion activities. Lack of time (80%), lack of breast cancer educational materials (77.1%) and lack of training (62.9%) were the top three mentioned barriers. Despite these barriers, 94.3% (33) of the community pharmacists agreed that they should be involved in breast cancer health promotion activities. Hence, there is need to equip community pharmacists with necessary training and knowledge to enable them to contribute their share towards prevention and screening of breast cancer.

Factors Influencing Knowledge Sharing Activities and Community Activation Efforts in Social Q&A Community : Focused on ZHI HU (소셜 Q&A 커뮤니티에서 지식공유 활동 및 커뮤니티 활성화 노력에 대한 영향요인 : 즈후(知乎)를 중심으로)

  • In recent years, social media that has emerged with the development of network technology has changed the channels of information dissemination. The social Q&A community is a platform for knowledge-sharing activities in a question-and-answer manner based on Web 2.0. In knowledge-sharing activities, valuable new knowledge continues to be produced and will surely bring great benefits to individuals or businesses. In the social Q&A community, the user's subjective factors play a crucial role in influencing the user's continued use and participation in knowledge-sharing activities. In order for users to actively participate in knowledge-sharing activities in the community, it needs to grasp their subjective ideas. This study explores the issue of sharing knowledge by users of the social Q&A community "Zhihu", or how to drive community revitalization efforts from these. The three factors self-efficacy, self-development motivation, and social comparison tendencies were derived, and identify their relationship with knowledge-sharing activities and community-boosting efforts through empirical analysis. In addition, the influence of knowledge acquisition on knowledge provision was investigated through sense of reciprocity. Implications of the study findings and the future research directions were also discussed.

Clinical Knowledge and Actual Performance of Pressure Ulcer Care by Hospital Nurses (중소병원간호사의 욕창간호지식과 간호수행에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between clinical knowledge and provision of pressure ulcer care and to identify factors associated with performance of care. Methods: Participants were 202 nurses working in one of 6 small to medium hospitals. Self-report questionnaire were used and data were collected from December 11 to 18, 2009. Results: Mean score for knowledge about pressure ulcer care was 0.81. In subcategories, knowledge of risk factors inducing pressure ulcers was 0.93, knowledge of assessment of pressure ulcers was 0.90, and knowledge of treatment methods for pressure ulcers was 0.61. Mean score for performance of care activities for patients with pressure ulcers was 3.63/5. There was a significant positive correlation between knowledge and performance (r=.319, p<.001). According to multiple regression analysis, general perception (${\beta}=.306$, p<.001), knowledge (${\beta}=.247$, p<.001), and hospital size (${\beta}=.156$, p= .015) had an impact on the extent of nurses' performance of pressure ulcer care. Conclusion: Study results indicate that further education on pressure ulcer care is necessary to enhance nurses' knowledge about pressure ulcers and to increase rate of performance of pressure ulcer care.

  • In this research, we analyzed empirically whether the valuation and compensation factor being moderating variable played the role of adjuster between KMS adoption factor(organizational factor, knowledge Informational factor, user factor) and business performance. The results of this research are as follows. First, The valuation and compensation factor affects the usage of KMS in case of organization's flexibility, trust, suitability of knowledge, degree of functional provision and perceived benefit. But it does not affect the usage of KMS in case of easiness of usage and user expertise. Second, The valuation and compensation factor affects the user's satisfaction of KMS in case of organization's flexibility, trust, degree of functional provision and user expertise. But it does not affect the user's satisfaction of KMS in case of suitability of knowledge, easiness of usage and perceived benefit.

The relationship between dementia-related knowledge and attitude in people in their 20s and 60s

  • This study is a cross-sectional survey study aimed at collecting basic data for the development of a program to cultivate a positive attitude toward dementia among people caring for dementia patients. For this study, data were collected from March 1 to March 7, 2022 as a structured questionnaire, and 232 study participants were in their 20s to 60s. The collected data were derived from chi-square test, t-test, and simple regression analysis using the spss 18.0 program. As a result of the analysis, women had higher treatment knowledge for dementia than men, men had higher attitudes toward dementia than women (p<0.01), and people living with dementia patients had higher attitudes than those who gave birth (p<0.01). Attitudes toward dementia were more positive in the family than those with dementia patients (p<0.01). Dementia-related knowledge consists of disease knowledge, treatment knowledge, and nursing knowledge, of which only positive dementia attitude affects dementia treatment knowledge (t=5.29, p<0.01). Based on these results, it is suggested that the provision of accurate knowledge about dementia treatment should be planned first as a nursing program for dementia patients.

A Study on Comparing the Perception between Librarians and Users about Libraries' Value

  • This study comprehensively draws a conclusion using factors of economic, social, and educational value and performed a survey on librarians and users to compare and analyze the difference in perception between the two groups. The result are as follows: First, Libraries had the social value not only on research and personal learning but also on establishment and vitalization of communities, provision of opportunities to share ideas between local residents and create something new, and provision of recreation to improve the residents' capability. Second, both groups evaluated the libraries' educational role and function relatively highly. In particular, the librarians scored very high for the items that the libraries' educational role was expanding, the libraries were a part of the educational system, and the libraries' value on reading and literacy was great, and the users thought that libraries had an value because they were a part of education and the educational system. Third, economic value part also obtained relatively lower scores than other values; the mean of the librarian group was 3.46 and the user group was 3.43. Among the economic values, the librarian group scored the highest for the area of economic value for local communities, and the greatest scores were given to manpower development by the users.

  • Considering the need for quality health information and resultant health care services in any society, this study was carried out to look into the status of library and information resources and services provided by medical libraries in Enugu State, Nigeria. The main objective of the study was to find out the information resources and services available for medical library users towards quality health care provision. Five (5) medical libraries of major teaching hospitals were used for the study with 980 registered users as the study population from where 245 users were sampled. Observation checklist was used to collect data on resources while questionnaire was used to collect data from the respondents on the services provided. The Medical Library Association Standard guided the analysis of data from observation while frequency counts and mean scores were used to analyze data from the questionnaire. Major findings showed that even though some of the required resources and services are available and provided the medical libraries, most of the required resources and services are not adequately provided by these libraries.

A Study of Care Workers Knowledge on Pressure Ulcer

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the degree of knowledge of care workers working at long term care hospitals and nursing homes on pressure ulcer. A total of 81 care workers including 34 at long term care hospitals and 47 at nursing homes were surveyed. 24 questions were used to evaluate their degree of knowledge on pressure ulcer. Their knowledge on pressure ulcer scored 12.84 out of the total score of 24 points(SD=3.40), which was equal to 53.50 (SD=24.23) out of 100 points. Their knowledge on the prevention of pressure ulcer was highest among the subareas of evaluation. Their knowledge on pressure ulcer statistically significantly differed according to education on pressure ulcer(P<.05). A pressure ulcer is a skin disorder that may be prevented and cured. At this point when long term care facilities are rapidly increasing, care workers highlevel knowledge on and good management of pressure ulcer is very important. Practically educating them on pressure ulcer including the provision of recent, updated relevant knowledge will be necessary.
