Accurate and reliable Information improves decision making, reduces costs, and saves time. The ophthalmic Libraries supply quality ophthalmic information to the ophthalmologists to serve the patients in a better way and stimulate the growth of ophthalmic field. This paper aims to study the usage of library collection, services and assistance among the Ophthalmologists - Eye Doctors in India. A survey method is used to obtain the ophthalmologists' usage of library collection, services and assistance. Through convenient sampling method, a structured questionnaire is circulated to the ophthalmologists in India and 633 ophthalmologists are responded. Among the 633 ophthalmologist, 82.15% of the ophthalmologists use the library collection - book. 73.46% of the ophthalmologists use the online data / journals. 89.73% of the ophthalmologists seek assistance to locate books/articles/documents. There exists a significant difference between the ophthalmologists use of Library Service and gender (p value 0.001**). There exists a significant difference between the ophthalmologists use of Library Assistance / help and designation category (p value 0.000**). There exists a significant difference between the ophthalmologists use of Library Assistance / help and working experience (p value 0.017**). There exists a significant difference between Library Services (p value 0.009**), Library Assistance / help (p value 0.000**) and institution type. The study results will help the ophthalmic libraries to serve the user better.

Nowadays, the growth rate of organisational politics in the library system is a cause of concern for library and information professionals. This has negatively impacted service delivery, most especially in public uni- versity libraries. This study examined the effect of organisational politics on job impetus among library personnel in selected public universities in South-west Nigeria. Three federal and three state universities were purposively selected such that one university was selected in each of the six states in South-west Nigeria. Total enumeration was used for all 187 library personnel in the six universities investigated. Using a descriptive survey of correlational type, a structured questionnaire was used to elicit information from respondents through survey monkey. Of 187 copies administered, 143, representing 76.5%, were retrieved and used for analysis. The results revealed a high level of organisational politics with low impetus. A strong inverse relationship was established between organisational politics and job impetus among library personnel in selected public universities in South-west Nigeria. Based on these, recommendations were made that Library personnel be encouraged to focus on their job specifications and limit organisational politics adhering to rules and regulations in the library and code of conduct for library staff.

This study reports the first step in the Classification-based Search and Knowledge Discovery (CSKD) project, which aims to combine information organization and retrieval approaches for building digital library applications. In this study, we explored the generation and application of a faceted vocabulary as a potential mechanism to enhance knowledge discovery. The faceted vocabulary construction process revealed some heuristics that can be refined in follow-up studies to further automate the creation of faceted classification structure, while our concept search application demonstrated the utility and potential of integrating classification-based approach with retrieval-based approach. Integration of text- and classification-based methods as outlined in this paper combines the strengths of two vastly different approaches to information discovery by constructing and utilizing a flexible information organization scheme from an existing classification structure.

지식 분류는 그 대상 목적 시대, 지역, 학자에 따라 각기 다른 지식 체계의 유형을 제시하고 있다. 그러나 지식분류의 내용을 살펴보면, 지식의 표현 방식이 다르고 지식표현의 배열이 우선 순위로 차이가 있을 뿐이지, 그 시대나 지역에서 내용의 류구분은 별다른 차이가 없음을 알 수 있다. 지식분류나 문헌분류는 그 시대의 사회적 구조를 반영하는 형태를 취하며 그 시대의 사회철학에 의하여 결정된다고 볼 수 있다. 과거의 지식 체계의 기본 골격은 고대에 형성된 후 계속해서 변화해 왔다. 이 변화의 과정에서 학문의 발전은 다른 학문 분야를 형성시켜 전체 학문 체계의 변천에 중요한 역할을 하였다. 앞으로도 이러한 발전은 계속해서 일어나 많은 새로운 분야의 지식이 나타날 것이며 지식분류의 한자리를 차지하게 될 것이다.

최근 국내에서도 취약계층별 공공도서관 서비스에 대한 연구가 많이 수행되었다. 그러나 인적 및 물적 자원이 제한된 공공도서관 입장에서는 과부하로 인하여 제시된 모든 대안을 수용하기 어려울 뿐만 아니라 여러 대안이 논리적으로 모순되고 현실적으로 상충될 가능성을 내포하고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 실정법이 규정하고 있는 5대 취약계층(장애인, 다문화가족, 노인, 농어촌주민, 기초생활수급자)을 대상으로 지식정보서비스를 강화하기 위한 통합형 지향성과 전략적 방안을 제시하였다.

본 논문은 지식경영이라는 새로운 패러다임의 소개와 이를 채택하는 기업의 조직을 총체적으로 지원하는 지식관리시스템의 이해를 주목적으로 하고 있다. 따라서 지식경영에 관련된 연구들을 분석함으로서 지식경영의 기초 개념을 파악하고 지식경영의 핵심인 지식관리시스템구축에서 요구되는 구축단계, 구축방법, 포함되어야 할 정보원과 서비스에 대한 기초 요소들을 제시하고자 한다. 본 연구는 지식관리 프로그램을 설계하고자 할 때 기초 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

In this study, the library ESG evaluation indicators specialized for libraries were developed, and based on which, a survey was conducted targeting the actual libraries to evaluate the ESG level of libraries. As a result of the study, first, among the ESG evaluation indicators, the indicators of the social field and the governance field are demonstrating high in which field of the library's ESG evaluation indicators will appear the highest. The social area's high score of 3.70 seems to be because the protection of users' rights, occupational safety, and contribution to society and the local community are very closely related to the original role of the library. Second, it may be seen that there is a difference between the questions in the corporate governance part, while the averages are the same. In the case of library's cooperation, it turned out that it was 3.94 in the necessity evaluation of the evaluation indicators, but it was lowered to 3.61 in the actual library situation evaluation. Meanwhile, in connection with the activities of the director of library and the board of directors, it may be seen that the index evaluation increased from 3.32 to 3.58 in the actual evaluation.

A person's job performance is the result of their efforts, influenced by their skills, personality, and perceptions of their role. Job performance is the execution of statutory obligations or functions based on the area of expertise of library personnel that are directed toward achieving the library's goals. The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of staff motivation and self-efficacy on the job performance of library personnel in Kwara State, Nigeria. The descriptive survey approach of correlational type was used in this investigation. To cover all the library personnel at the participating public libraries in Kwara State, Nigeria, total enumeration or census survey methodologies were used. Eight objectives are used to steer this investigation. The findings demonstrated a significant correlation between staff motivation and job performance, while self-efficacy and job performance have a significant negative relationship. The authors recommend that library personnel who receive training, particularly training focused on providing them with development chances, may perceive that the organization values them as individuals, which increases their sense of self-worth and, as a result, helps them create stronger job performance.

국가도서관은 한 국가의 지식문화유산인 국가장서를 집중적으로 개발·보존하고 제공해야할 책무가 있다. 특히 국립중앙도서관의 사명을 완수하기 위한 4대 목표 가운데 '국가지식자원 접근·보존 기반 고도화'를 이루기 위해서는 외연적 범위를 국내자료뿐 아니라 외국자료로도 확대하여 국가지식자원을 강화할 필요가 있다. 즉, 국내에서 생산되는 최신자료와 소급자료를 최대한 수집·제공·보존하는 기능은 물론이며 외국에서 생산·유통·보존되고 있는 고품질 학술자료 및 한국과 관련된 자료를 가능한 한 많이 수집하여 국가지식정보센터로서의 기능을 수행해야 한다. 본 연구는 선진국 국가도서관의 외국자료 수집 및 서비스 현황을 조사·분석하여 시사점을 도출하였다. 이를 바탕으로 현재 국립중앙도서관의 외국장서 수집수준을 비교·평가한 다음 고품질 학술자료 및 한국 관련 외국자료를 최대한 확보하기 위한 전략을 제시하는데 본 연구의 목적이 있다.

대다수 국가에서 공공도서관은 지역사회를 위한 지식정보 및 복합문화의 허브이자 만남과 소통을 위한 제3의 장소다. 근래의 공공도서관은 디지털 전환과 4차 산업혁명 시대에 부응하기 위해 디지털 기술을 이용한 핵심역량 제고와 서비스 확장에 주력하고 있다. 그런데 COVID-19 팬데믹이 발생한 이후 공공도서관에서 폐관, 재개관, 부분 폐관이 반복되자 비접촉, 디지털, 온라인 대체서비스를 제공하는데 모든 자원을 투입하고 있으며 향후에도 계속될 것으로 예상된다. 이에 따라 미래 공공도서관은 디지털 확장성, 복합문화공간화, 지식정보서비스 장소로서의 중요성이 상충되는 트릴레마에 직면할 수밖에 없다. 본 연구는 포스트 코로나 시대의 공공도서관 트릴레마를 담론화하고 극복 방안을 제시하였다. 미래 공공도서관의 지향성은 다중성과 다목적, 장소와 공간, 지식정보와 복합문화, 대면접촉서비스와 비대면 원격서비스를 아우르는 화이부동이다. 공공도서관의 본체는 손가락(디지털과 비접촉)이 아니라 달(지식정보센터)이다.
