This paper identifies GNSS education and training program under Geomatic field of study. GNSS education programs is evaluated $vis-{\grave{a}}-vis$ new-products. Data on Geomatic knowledge generation in the era of the GNSS derivatives over the 1975 - 2003 period are examined. The emerging trends and patterns; in particular for selected Asian nations will be dissected in detail. The knowledge indicator used in this study is the patent ownership against the background of emergence of new core technologies and innovations in the field of GNSS. Looking at the dismal performance of Geomatic professionals in terms of innovative activities in most part of Asian and Malaysia in particular, is it there is something that holding up these professionals from doing so? With our universities and numerous polytechnics offering Geomatic program, more is expected from them. Is it a problem of lack or inadequacy of skills? Or is it these professionals are too busy and being narrowly focused on doing something else?

This paper describes a fuzzy-based system for analyzing the stress intensity factors (SIFs) of three-dimensional (3D) cracks. A geometry model, i.e. a solid containing one or several 3D cracks is defined. Several distributions of local node density are chosen, and then automatically superposed on one another over the geometry model by using the fuzzy knowledge processing. Nodes are generated by the bucketing method, and ten-coded quadratic tetrahedral solid elements are generated by the Delaunay triangulation techniques. The singular elements such that the mid-point nodes near crack front are shifted at the quarter-points, and these are automatically placed along the 3D crack front. The complete finite element(FE) model is generated, and a stress analysis is performed. The SIFs are calculated using the displacement extrapolation method. To demonstrate practical performances of the present system, semi-elliptical surface cracks in a inhomogeneous plate subjected to uniform tension are solved.

As higher reliability on generator facilities is required to early detect incipient faults, a diagnostic system for predictive maintenance of the facility is highly recommended. In this paper, an expert system is developed suing the CLIPS - expert system tool - utilizing the knowledge on the insulation diagnosis and the vibration diagnosis on the rotating machines. This expert system, with user - friendly interface for operator, is easy to revise and add diagnostic rules and knowledge.
Legacy applications are valuable assets that should be integrated into next generation business systems. To gain this advantage, progressive companies can reverse engineer the legacy business operations. This paper presents a form-driven object-oriented reverse engineering(FORE) methodology by the use of business forms to recover semantics of legacy applications. They retain the user-oriented contents of business and thus are easily understandable. Our form driven object-oriented reverse engineering methodology consists of five phases: form and usage analysis, form object slicing, object structure modeling, scenario design, and model integration. Knowledge about form structure and user interaction with legacy applications is used to capture the design semantics. An object model, which consists of an object structure model and scenario results from such form knowledge. The resulting object model is more likely to help reverse engineers understand and reuse legacy systems.
Recently, individuals are interested in a variety of products and services based on artificial intelligence. Among those products and services, an intelligent personal assistants are attracting many attention from IT companies as a next generation platform. Thus, the main purpose of this study is to investigate effects of intelligent personal assistant's benefits on user's value formation and adoption behavior based on Value-based Adoption Model. In addition, the moderating effect of personal innovativeness is examined through empirical analysis. Based on the analysis with the data from actual users, the results show that usefulness, enjoyment, technicality and cost advantage have significant influences on perceived value and correspondingly have an effect on intention to adopt. Personal innovativeness is related to the relationship between perceived value and intention to adopt. These findings may provide important insights to the relevant field regarding the use and spread of intelligent personal assistants.
This tutorial introduces procedures and methods for performing structural equation modeling using R. For this, we present the whole process of analyzing the structural equations model from the confirmatory factor analysis to the path diagram generation using the lavaan package, which is relatively well evaluated among the R packages supporting the structural equation modeling, together with the R program codes. Considering that research applying structural equation modeling techniques is the mainstream in a variety of social sciences, including business administration, and that there is growing interest in open source R, this tutorial focuses on researchers who are looking for alternatives to traditional commercial statistical packages and is expected that it will be a useful guidebook for them.

With research data generation on the rise, Institutional Repositories (IR) are one of the tools to manage it. However, the variety of data practices across institutions, domains, communities, etc., often requires dedicated studies in order to identify the research data management (RDM) require- ments and mapping them to IR features to support them. In this study, we investigated the data practices for a few national universities in North Macedonia, including 110 participants from different departments. The methodology we adopted to this end enabled us to derive some of the key RDM requirements for a variety of data-related activities. Finally, we mapped these requirements to 6 features that our participants asked for in an IR solution: (1) create (meta)data and documentation, (2) distribute, share, and promote data, (3) provide access control, (4) store, (5) backup, and (6) archive. This list of IR features could prove useful for any university that has not yet established an IR solution.

ChatGPT has had a significant impact on society, business, and academia by influencing individuals and organizations through knowledge generation and supporting users in locating conversational inquiries and answers. It can transform how people seek answers by combining human-like conversational skills with AI. By eradicating the cumbersome process of selecting from multiple options, users can conduct preliminary research or create optimized solutions. The purpose of this research is to investigate how consumers use ChatGPT and digital transformation, specifically in terms of knowledge development, searching and recommending, and optimizing accessible possibilities. Using many linked theories, we address the potential implications and insights that can be gained from ChatGPT's early stages and its integration with other applications such as robotics, service automation, and the metaverse. Finally, the application of ChatGPT has practical, theoretical, and phenomenological impacts, in addition to improving users' experiences.
Corrosion science faces new challenges in various nuclear environments. Three main areas may be identified where increases of knowledge and understanding have been done and are still needed to face the technical needs: (i) the extension of the service time of nuclear power plants from 40 years, as initially planned, to 60 years and probably more as expected now, (ii) the prediction of long term behaviour of metallic materials in nuclear waste disposal where the corrosion processes have to be predicted over large periods of time, some thousands years and more, (iii) the choice of materials for use at very high temperatures as expected in Generation IV power plants in environments like gas (helium), supercritical water, liquid metals or salts. Service time extension, deep geological waste repositories and high temperature reactors sustain researches and developments to model corrosion phenomena at various scales, from atoms to components.

Author outlines briefly developments of policies relating to telecommunication infrastructure and databases since latter half of 1970′s. There exist three phases. The first phase was from later 1970′s to 1985, which was an initial stage of electronic information service in Japan. In the second phase, 1985~1990, basic policy change made possible the privatization of telecommunication services and proliferation of database products and vendors, The third phase began in early 1990′s with downsizing in computer usage, wide-spreading information networks and rapid dissemination of personal computers. Then author describes offers on policy formation for "novel information infrastructure" and current situation concerning the "Internet" in Japan. Finally, tasks and problems for implementing new generation program for information infrastructure and database usage are pointed out, These are knowledge resource, cost, copyrights and cultural problems including language.
