As information technology had shown tremendous development in late 20th century, various service opportunities appeared in many industries. Also, new types of service are becoming available such as, reservation, teleconsultation, telemedicine. In health care industry, in which, many hospitals are faced operational difficulties and competing impetuously, a web site has become a effective tool to attract patients and transfer tremendous health information to the patients. This study is based on many previous researches on online service quality, try to figure out e-service quality factors of health information sites, and the factors' effect on users' satisfaction on the web site via providing knowledge and trust on the web site. As a result, usability, site aesthetic, responsiveness and security are the 4 factors to measure e-service quality of health information web site. All factors except site aesthetic have significant effects on providing knowledge, security only effects on trust on the web site.
The objective of manufacturing knowledge sharing platform is to convert the production experience like a worker's know-how into quantitative values, to construct database of the process technologies and to share the technologies systematically via web portal service. In addition, the knowledge sharing platform contains the total production processes of automobile and mobile products such as information of experts, facilities, and cutting-edge R&D outputs. Automobile, telecommunication mobile, and semiconductors account for a large amount of Korea's export industry rate. These industries need production technology which is a result of converting worker's know-how and R&D. Manufacturing knowledge portal aims to enable transforming production experience such as worker's know-how into standardized form for constructing database and sharing technologies systematically. Manufacturing knowledge portal can contribute to small and mid-sized manufacturing companies with further improvements.
Since CM policies established in 1996, contracts of CM services are continuously increasing over the past years. As constant improvement of positive awareness about public/private owners and CM capabilities of domestic construction companies, a number of efforts were being made to acquire competitiveness of domestic and overseas CM market. However, there has been lack of quantitative and comprehensive research to investigate CM firms. The purpose of this research is to statistically analyze total of 2,983 CM service contracts over the past 16 years published in KISCON (Knowledge Information System of Construction Industry) in order to examine CM owner type.
Data mining is widely used for turning huge amounts of data into useful information and knowledge in the information industry in recent years. When analyzing data set with continuous values in order to gain knowledge utilizing data mining, we often undergo a process called discretization, which divides the attribute's value into intervals. Such intervals from new values for the attribute allow to reduce the size of the data set. In addition, discretization based on rough set theory has the advantage of being easily applied. In this paper, we suggest a discretization algorithm based on Rough Set theory and SOM(Self-Organizing Map) as a means of extracting valuable information from large data set, which can be employed even in the case where there lacks of professional knowledge for the field.
The major economic health problem of dairy cattle is mastitis which can affect 10 to 50% of cow-quarters. This health problem is difficult for many dairy farmers and health advisors to understand, diagnose and control. Without special laboratory testing, most mastitis is overlooked. Estimates of annual mastitis cast per cow vary from $50 to $200. For the nearly 9 million cows in the United States, annual loss to the dairy industry amounts to over one billion. A knowledge-based decision aid has been developed to evaluate mastitis data retrieved electronically from two of nine U. S. regional dairy records processing centers. Heuristic rules to diagnose herd mastitis problems were collected and incorporated into the system from various domain experts. This system information. It allows users to select mastitis control schemes with various degrees of aggressiveness and teaches commonly accepted mastitis control practices.
In recent environment of dynamic management, there is growing recognition that information and knowledge management systems are essential for efficient/effective decision making by CEO. To cope with this situation, we suggest the Data-Miming scheme as a key component of integrated information and knowledge management system. The proposed system measures business performance by considering both VA(Value-Added), which represents stakeholder’s point of view and EVA (Economic Value-Added), which represents shareholder’s point of view. To mine the new information & Knowledge discovery, we applied the improved genetic algorithms that consider predictability, understandability (lucidity) and reasonability factors simultaneously, we use a linear combination model for GAs learning structure. Although this model’s predictability will be more decreased than non-linear model, this model can increase the knowledge’s understandability that is meaning of induced values. Moreover, we introduce a random variable scheme based on normal distribution for initial chromosomes in GAs, so we can expect to increase the knowledge’s reasonability that is degree of expert’s acceptability. the random variable scheme based on normal distribution uses statistical correlation/determination coefficient that is calculated with training data. To demonstrate the performance of the system, we conducted a case study using financial data of Korean automobile industry over 16 years from 1981 to 1996, which is taken from database of KISFAS (Korea Investors Services Financial Analysis System).

Safety education at the tertiary level prepares students to enter construction industry with adequate safety knowledge; then accidents can be prevented proactively. However, safety subject has not been paid adequate attention in universities and most institutional safety programs consider safety matters in isolation. Meanwhile, anatomical theory in the medicine field has been successfully adopted and proved potential advantageous in various scientific disciplines. With this regard, this study proposes a visualization based Building Anatomy Model (BAM) for construction safety education, which utilizes the anatomical theory in order to improve student's safety knowledge and practical skill. This BAM consists of two modules: 1) Knowledge Acquisition Module (KAM) aims to deliver safety knowledge to students through building anatomy models; 2) Practical Experience Module (PEM) where students safely perform construction activities by using the system to improve safety skill. The system trial is validated with virtual scenarios derived from real accidents cases. This study emphasizes the visualization based building anatomy model would be a powerful pedagogical method to provide effectively safety knowledge and practical skill for students, as a result, safety competence of students would be enhanced.
Despite a growing literature focusing on technological development as a key driving force behind the economic performance of a firm or a nation's industy, we still fall short of a comprehensive understanding of how each of the elements required of technological developent and innovation fits togther and leads to economic progress and industry change. This paper seeks to fill this gap by bringing together some of key insights from the theory and research on the coevolutionary process of technology, organizations, and industry, and on the role of institutions in this process. By combining a diverse array of research streams, we provide a broad suvey of foundational work on the following two questions: (1) how the creation and diffusion of innovation occurs and gives rise to structural reconfigurations of the industry, (2) how organisations and technology coevolve, and (3) what is the role of institutions in this coevolutionary process? Based on this literature survey, we also offer a synthesis that can serve as a ground that allows a more nuanced understanding of the sources, dynamics and impacts of technological development and innovation, and interrelationships among technology, organizations and industry change.
Today, offshore design field is concerned with system integration such as CIM(Computer Integrated Manufacturing), PDMS(Product Data Management System) and EDMS(Engineering Data Management System) in order to cope with the change of engineering specification as owner's requirements during construction stage of the project. This paper deals with the case study that describes about the efficient interface between material control system and 3D CAD system to support the design process in offshore industry using design rules involved the designer's knowledge. In this paper, we constructed an information system, called knowledge-based CAD interface systems, which is composed material code management system and 3D specification generator which automatically creates 3D catalogue anti specification by linking the material code, called short code, and the specification components of the 3D CAD system. As a result of the construction, it is possible to maintain consistency of the design process, and through reduction of the design processing time and improvement of the design process, competitiveness is improved.
