  • Agent, as a independent module, exchanges knowledge & information which are classified to their characteristics according to shared protocol. i.e. Agent Communication Language(AC1,). Fuzzy inference system represents the experiential knowledge as li~~guisticco ntrol rule and enables us to execute the knowledge using fuzzy inference. This study tries connecting fuzzy inference system with agent-based system and inspects applicability to hull form design through inferring principle dimension and hull form coefficients.

  • From a lot of survey, it is obvious that most students in universities lose their desire for learning just after entering their universities. In order to solve this problem, we developed a novel educational tool for the students, named "The thinking method based on matrix diagram". If they try hard with the help of this tool, they will be able to learn how to design and manage their splendid university lives in addition to get the basic knowledge and to improve their basic abilities. It is also found that they can earn the shared knowledge mutually after learning a common method, which supports to make them to improve their communication abilities drastically.

  • Purpose: This study was done to develop and implement the Nursing KMS (knowledge management system) in order to improve knowledge sharing and creation among clinical nurses in outpatient departments. Methods: This study was a methodological research using the 'System Development Life Cycle': consisting of planning, analyzing, design, implementation, and evaluation. Quality Function Deployment (QFD) was applied to establish nurse requirements and to identify important design requirements. Participants were 32 nurses and for evaluation data were collected pre and post intervention at K Hospital in Seoul, a tertiary hospital with over 1,000 beds. Results: The Nursing KMS was built using a Linux-based operating system, Oracle DBMS, and Java 1.6 web programming tools. The system was implemented as a sub-system of the hospital information system. There was statistically significant differences in the sharing of knowledge but creating of knowledge was no statistically meaningful difference observed. In terms of satisfaction with the system, system efficiency ranked first followed by system convenience, information suitability and information usefulness. Conclusion: The results indicate that the use of Nursing KMS increases nurses' knowledge sharing and can contribute to increased quality of nursing knowledge and provide more opportunities for nurses to gain expertise from knowledge shared among nurses.

  • E-cash has its merits comparing with other payment modes. However, there are two problems, which are how to achieve practical/complete tracing and how to achieve it in compact E-cash. First, the bank and the TTP (i.e., trusted third party) have different duties and powers in the reality. Therefore, double-spending tracing is bank's task, while unconditional tracing is TTP's task. In addition, it is desirable to provide lost-coin tracing before they are spent by anyone else. Second, compact E-cash is an efficient scheme, but tracing the coins from double-spender without TTP results in poor efficiency. To solve the problems, we present a compact E-cash scheme. For this purpose, we design an embedded structure of knowledge proof based on a new pseudorandom function and improve the computation complexity from O(k) to O(1). Double-spending tracing needs leaking dishonest users' secret knowledge, but preserving the anonymity of honest users needs zero-knowledge property, and our special knowledge proof achieves it with complete proofs. Moreover, the design is also useful for other applications, where both keeping zero-knowledge and leaking information are necessary.

  • Results of experiments conducted in university-based design studio suggests that Building information Modeling invites the adoption of a dramatically different design process, traditional design process and BIM-aided design process. Experiment method is used the actual experiment by students. In contrast to traditional design process rooted in successive refinement of abstractions and dependence on tacit knowledge, the studio BIM-aided design process depends on a complete and comprehensive date base and alterative solutions by complete analysis for helping choice of finial result. BIM viewed as provocateur of design education provides great potential for the critical analysis of how architectural design is taught. The results reflect new ways of teaching and addressing BIM methods and process in the design studio project.

  • Purpose - The pool of entrepreneurs with progressive qualities such as creativity and innovation was considered concurrently with such factors as work and capital that stimulate economic development and growth. This study aims to present a model to support the development of a strategic approach for achieving an overall academic entrepreneurship system in Iran. Research design, data, and methodology - The research design of this study is based on applied research because of its objectives, using principles and techniques formulated for basic research to solve operational and real organizational issues. This design also drives the method used, describing and interpreting the findings. Secondary data (library research) was used for this study's data collection. Because of this research's essential characteristics, no hypothesis is launched, and no research setting, questionnaire design, population or population sampling, validity or reliability tests, or statistical analysis are needed. Results and Conclusions - The model is created using a strategic approach acting in an octal setting comprising social, cultural, legal, economic, political, technological, competitive, and natural environments to present a conceptual framework for future studies.

  • An expert system was developed as a framework of integrating diverse and multifactored ergonomic knowledge to investigate its effectiveness in ergonomic workplace design and evolution. Although numerous computer-assisted approaches have been made to overcome the lack of integrated design principles, those models being used require very specific information of various design activities that may not be available in the design stage. On the other hand, an expert system would be an effective design aid that is capable of guiding the designer to solve a problem. However, most expert systems lack detailed evaluation capabilities due to a qualitative nature of inference mechanisms. Furthermore, those approaches were independently developed, focusing mostly on a single aspect such as biomechanics, physiology, etc. In this paper, a design framework was developed which takes advantage of expert system metholologies, a relational data base and existing ergonomic models. The pattern-directed, rule-based expert system allows the designer to gradually formulate and subsequently evaluate workplace design. A comprehensive and modularized knowledge base was built incorporating biomechanics, physiology and psychophysics, which is, in turn, capable of accessing not only qualitative knowledge but complex analytic evaluation models and massive information in the data base through an interface. A conflict resolution strategy using multiple criteria decision-making schemes was also employed to reconcile multiple design alternatives.

  • It's difficult for manufacturers to derive a new design from the demands of consumers as quickly as possible and a designer carries out design operation using insufficient resources in initial design. To carry out initial design process efficiently for an excavator front group, it is necessary for a designer to manage lots of parameter with an existing knowledge or with in-house know-how and develop function module that calculates working range and excavator force. By doing so, it will bring up the optimized values of parameters based on the DOE in the early design stage. In this paper, a new approach to improve the process with optimized parameters is proposed to reduce a product development time of the excavator front design.

  • Many R&D organizations have interests on knowledge management system(KMS) to organize and utilize their knowledge resources. Currently, for research collaboration and knowledge management R&D organizations use either a specialized knowledge management system or a set of general application systems such as basic messaging system and document management system. The objectives of this paper are to identify important functionalities of knowledge management systems based on team characteristics and knowledge process of research teams in research organizations and to provide implications to design and implement knowledge management system for R&D teams. Survey results show that research teams perceive communication, collaboration and connection functionalities are important when their team sizes are large or they are distributed. During knowledge capture process, they need personalization of knowledge to reduce information overload.
