A Study on the Slacks Blocks for the Menopausal Women (폐경기 여성을 위한 슬랙스 패턴에 관한 연구)

  • From the menopause, women's aging progress is accelerated. Changes of lower body somatotype are accentuated in abnormal of body index and proportion. The purpose of this study is making more functional, more beautiful and more comfortable slacks for the postmenopausal women who actively participate in social activities. The results of this study are as follows: As the characteristics of this study pattern, hip circumference was replaced with maximum lower body circumference, the crotch length was defined as H/4, front crotch extension was H/16 and back crotch extension was defined as H/8. The center backline was set up with half of crotch level line. As characteristics of style, waist line is lowered 2cm at the center front, 1cm at the center back with a little bent waistband. Knee line was set up heightened 6cm from crotch level to the ancle, and widened the width of the knee and ancle, and made in semi bell bottom. 6 women who put on slacks designed from their body size evaluated that their experimental slacks were superior than ready to wear.

A Study on the Development of Jeans Pattern and Grading Method (청바지 패턴 및 그레이딩에 관한 연구)

  • This study focusses pattern draft and grading of jeans for women in their 20s, who consume jeans the most. Pattern was drafted based on existing patterns collected from companies. It is different from the existing educational patterns. It suggests new sizing system for twenties referring to sizes used companies and grading rule and method. he results were as follows; 1. Companies manufacture 2-8 sizes and they referred to the Korean Industrial Standards, KS K 0051, for their sizing system. 2. Drawing method for Pattern of the study had following measurements for each part: in the case of waist circumference, front part was W/4+1.5cm, back part was W14+2cm, front hip circumference was H/4-1.5cm, crotch line was the crotch length (practical measurement), hip circumference was (upper crotch line length)/5+0.5cm, front crotch part was 2.7cm, back crotch part was W/5+2.7cm, knee height was (the length of leg)/2+6cm and the circumference of knee and the tip of pants were 40cm. Through the wearing test on the subject of twenties, researched pattern received higher ratings, especially in appearance than the existing pattern. 3. 5 sizes system was made referred to the sizing system of companies and National Anthropometric Survey of Korean in 1997 Grading rule for 12 grading points of front part and 13 grading points of back part was suggested. Results of wearing test on the graded patterns showed high ratings similar to standard size.

The Effects of Closed Kinetic Chain Exercises on Thigh Circumference and Lysholm Scale of the Knee Joints of Patients with ACL Reconstruction (전방십자인대 재건술 후 닫힌사슬운동이 슬관절 대퇴둘레, Lysholm 척도에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose: This study compared the thigh circumference and Lysholm scale of a stable and unstable exercise group of patients who had undergone an anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACL reconstruction). Methods: The subjects were patients more than 4 weeks after their ACL reconstruction and could stand on one leg. The patients were divided into a control group with 9 patients performing closed kinetic chain exercises on a stable floor and an experimental group with 10 patients performing closed kinetic chain exercises en an unstable floor. The degree of muscle atrophy was compared by measuring the circumference of the injured thigh before the exercise program, and 3 weeks and 6 weeks after the exercise program. The Lysholm scale was used to assess the function of the knee joint. Results: There was no significant increase in thigh circumference according to the exercise periods in the two groups. However, there was a statistically significant increase before exercises and 6 weeks after the exercises (p<0.05). There were statistically significant differences in the Lysholm scores between the two groups (p<0.05). Conclusion: There were no statistically significant increase in the two groups, but there was a significant difference between before the exercise program and 6 weeks after the exercise program (p<0.05).

Anti-arthritic Properties of ShinEumHur-Herbal Acupuncture Assessed by Knee Circumference, Squeak Threshold and Weight Distribution Ratio in Rats (흰쥐의 adjuvant-induced knee arthritis에 대한 신음허 약침의 치료효과)

  • In order to examine the anti-arthritic properties of ShinEumHur(SEH)-herbal acupuncture, an adjuvant-induced arthritic rat was generated by the intra-articular injection of dried cells of Mycobacterium tuberculosis emulsified in squalene into the right knee joint. Fifty microliter of SEH extract was injected into Zusanli(ST36) acupoint on the ipsilateral hind paw every other day for 2 weeks. The body weight, knee circumference, squeak threshold, and weight distribution ratio were analyzed as the assessment methods addressing arthritic symptoms such as arthritic pain, edema, and tenderness. The weight distribution ratio was measured by a digital-type analgesia instrument using the dual channel scale that separately measures the weight the arthritic rat distributes to each hind paw, and thus quantifies both of swelling and pain severities at once. The therapeutic effects of SEH-herbal acupuncture, assessed by squeaking threshold and weight distribution ratio, were observed on 8th day after the arthritis induction as compared to saline group and control group. On 10th day, SEH-herbal acupuncture therapy significantly started to alleviate the growing pattern of knee circumference of an arthritic rat in the range of 0.2㎝. However, the loss of body weight was not significantly recovered. Taken together, the SEH-herbal acupuncture exhibited the significant therapeutic efficiency to treat adjuvant-induced monoarthritis in rat.

A Study on the Original Form of Slacks of Elderly Women in Their Late 60s (60대 후반 노년 여성의 슬랙스 원형 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to compare and analyze two original forms of slacks for thesis to extract outward appearance of design original form applying design measures of the above through diverse research methods. The results of this study are as follow: In original form F, the original form of slacks sloper suitable to elderly women 65~9 years old was W/4+3.5+0.5cm in the front/back circumference of waist, H/4cm in the front/back circumference of hip, (H/4+1+3.8)/2cm in the position of centerline, 19cm in actual measurement value of hip length, 25cm in actual measurement value of crotch depth, (knee crotch circumference~bottom line)/2+10cm and 90 (side waist dot~ lateral malleolus length)cm in actual measurement. front dart position was 1/3 and 2/3 of front waist centerline and back dart position was 1/3 and 2/3 of back waist circumference. It was suggested that front dart quantity (length) was 3.5(11)cm, back dart quantity 3.4 (10.2)cm, side waist up quantity 0.7cm, back down quantity 1.5cm, front crotch width (H/4+1)/4-1cm, back crotch width (H/4+1)/4+4, front knee width 21.8cm, back knee width 24.4cm, front pant leg 20.8cm, and back pant leg 23.4cm.

Factor Analysis for the Foot and Calf Growth of Primary-School Children (초등학생(初等學生)의 발과 하퇴부(下腿部) 성장(成長)에 관(關) 요인분석(要因分析))

  • For the purpose of investigating the factor of foot and calf growth of primary-school children who are fastgrowing during this period, a group of the 1st graders of primary-school had been the subject of this measurement in 1995 and thereafter they became the subject again in 1997 when they were the 3rd graders. Measurement was carried out in 30 items including height and weight and marthin-type measurer and Footprint were used for this measurement. As the result, in the part of calf, the measuring items of maximum calf circumference and knee circumference, and in the part of foot, the items of instep circumference, heel circumference, instep circumference, measured angle of big toe showed the highest growth. The average growth of length for 2 years appeared about 2cm and the parts of instep circumference, heel circumference had rapidly grown rather than in the part of foot circumference. Height growth of the part of toe was about 0.1 and in the factor analysis of foot measurement of 8-year and 10-year and children, the following findings appeared in both cases that height was related with the items of calf height and foot length and weight was related with calf circumference and breadth, foot circumference items.

Comparison of pants for adults women by 3D simulation - Focus of the DC Suite Program - (3차원 시뮬레이션을 활용한 성인여성용 팬츠 원형 비교 연구 - DC Suite Program을 중심으로 -)

  • A study using compare and analyze about differences among three basic pants patterns(shape and size of pattern, fitting and amount of air gap and so on) through 3D simulation. This study use 3D simulation program, DC Suite version 3.0. The results are as a follows: The results of comparison about total pants pattern shape, the ESMOD have two tucks of front and one dart of back and the Secoli and On&on have each dart of front and back. The results of estimation about total appearance, the On&on is the best of all pattern about total silhouette of front and back side and the ESMOD is the worst of all. In a case of the ESMOD, the thigh part has so many spaces between body and pants so it is rated low. When we examine about space between body and pants, amount of air gap of ESMOD is 0.6 at waist circumference and next is On&on(0.07). In case of hip circumference, the Secoli is 0.08 and the ESMOD is 0.14. The ESMOD's amount of air gap is 0.32 at thigh circumference and 0.62 at knee circumference. The Secoli's amount air gap is 0.26 at thigh circumference and 0.59 at knee circumference.

A study of leggings patterns using a 3D virtual simulation program - Focused on the women in 30's - (3D 버츄얼 시뮬레이션을 이용한 레깅스 패턴 연구 - 30대 여성을 중심으로 -)

  • The study is to develop and present a leggings pattern that is suitable for the human body by using a standard body type avatar for a female in her 30s. As a research method, the average body type was selected from adult women in their 30s, and the appearance was evaluated using the CLO software program. The data analysis of this study compared the dimensions and shape of each part by legging. The leggings pattern suggested based on the above research results was determine to be a total length of 80.6cm and hip length of 24cm, and the knee length was set by dividing the legging in half from the waist to the hem and then adding 5cm. These figures were evaluated higher than Company D in terms of the adequacy of the upper part of the front and rear plates of Company A as well as the adequacy of the knee lines. Company A's figures were applied and corrected. For the front plate, the waist circumference was divided by 4, and 3.5cm was removed, and the hip circumference was set by dividing the hip circumference by 4, and 3.8cm was removed. In the appearance evaluation results Company D was highly evaluated in the suitability evaluation of the waist and hips, and the waist and hips were set using the pattern of Company D. The length of the front panel was modified by dividing the hip circumference by 4 and adding 1.8cm to the length, and the length of the back panel was modified by dividing the hip circumference by 3 and adding 8cm after dividing the hip circumference by 0.8cm.

A Comparison of Imported Medical Compression Stockings by Manufacturing Country (수입 의료용 압박스타킹의 제조국가별 비교)

  • This study provides product survey data for the development of medical compression stockings. An investigation analyzed imported medical compression stockings of 40 brands from 6 countries sold in the Korean market, such as Jobst$^{(R)}$, Therafirm$^{(R)}$, Rxtar$^{(R)}$, Varicoin$^{(R)}$, and Sheer&Soft (USA), Sigvaris Venosan$^{(R)}$ 4000 (Switzerland), Best$^{(R)}$ and Segreta$^{(R)}$ (Italy), Venex$^{(R)}$, Star cotton, Doktus$^{(R)}$, Maxis$^{(R)}$, Maxis$^{(R)}$ Cotton, Lastofa$^{(R)}$, and Memory Aloe Vera (Germany), and Gunze (Japan), Venos and Yolanda (Taiwan). The main fibers of compression stockings were nylon and spandex; in addition, the fiber content was different by country and brand. The number of compression classes of imported products was USA (5), Italy (5), Germany (4), Switzerland (3), Japan (3), and Taiwan (3). For basic body measurements, USA and Swiss brands used ankle circumference, calf circumference, thigh circumference, calf length, and thigh length. Italian brands used height and weight, and Japanese brands used height and hip circumference. German brands used subdivided circumferences such as ankle circumference, calf circumference, knee circumference, middle thigh circumference, and thigh circumference.

The Development of Jeans Pattern for Stretch Denim Fabrics (신축성 데님 청바지의 패턴 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to present a making method of jeans pattern with high fitness after deriving the appropriate shrinkage rate by material and washing process. According to the result of the exterior evaluation of test jeans, all 6 jeans were rated high with scores close to 3.5. Following the evaluation of satisfaction of usage by physical movement, the highest ranking was in the order of walking with normal steps, back bending $90^{\circ}$, chair sitting, climbing stairs and squatting. The shrinkage rate by physical area showed the highest score in the order of pants length, waist circumference, thigh circumference, knee circumference, hem circumference, hips circumference. In addition, the shrinkage rate was higher in warp direction than weft direction after washing finishing. As for the result of addition and reduction of pattern measurements by parts of jeans, waist circumference was $3.1{\sim}5.1cm$, hips circumference was $-1.2{\sim}4.2cm$, thigh circumference was $-0.9{\sim}3.1cm$ and pants length was $3.4{\sim}6.1cm$. That is, this results showed a wide range of addition and reduction according to material and washing finishing.
