This study was to analyze the social identity described in the dress of the American novelist Pearl S. Buck's (1892-1973) major works. A novelist pursues varying and refined expressions in an effort to convey to readers the character' identities of his or her own creation. In particular, Pearl S, Buck was a great writer who was awarded the Novel Literature Prize, and since her work The Good Earth recorded a world-wide bestseller, she might well be called a popular novelist. She depicted well her characters' identities from divers viewpoints with her unique delicacy and realistic expressions. For this study, the following seven works which are considered to feature the dresses for character's identity well were selected out of her 85 works: The Good Earth (1931), Sons(1932), The Mother (1934), A Housed Divided (1935), The Hidden Flower (1952), Love and the Morning Calm (1953) and Letter from Peking (1957). For an analytical tool, the content analysis method was used. In order to systematically review the social identity described in the dress individuals' identity were classified into the following categories based on the identity theories: Social identity were divided into ① age identity ② sex, gender identity ③ economic identity ④ occupational identity ⑤ political identity ⑥ religious identity ⑦ kinship identity ⑧ regional identity. The characters' age identity, sex, gender identity, economic identity, occupational identity, political identity, religious identity, kinship identity, regional identity were depicted by their dresses and physical features. All in all, it is hoped that this study would provided important cues to the understanding of the other party's identity through his or her dresses in mutual relationship: It is believed that this study would be useful because they are arranged through the analysis of the dresses featured in the great writer's works using a consistent framework of analysis.

최근 실종자, 변사자, 미아 등의 유전자 분석 자료는 지속적으로 증가하고 있으나, 현재 친자확인을 위한 통계학적 계산은 대부분 수기에 의하거나 엑셀을 통해서 이루어지고 있다. 따라서 유전자 분석 자료 중 상염색체 Short Tandem Repeat (STR)을 체계적으로 관리하고 효과적으로 분석할 수 있는 소프트웨어의 개발이 필요하다. 친자관계 및 혈연관계를 다양한 옵션 하에서 용이하게 분석하는 웹 기반 유전자자료 분석시스템이 광범위한 테스트 없이 약 20개월의 연구를 통해서 개발되었다. 친자관계 분석을 위해서 부계지수 계산 알고리즘을 사용하였고, 혈연관계 분석을 위해서 Identity by descent (IBD) 공식을 사용하였다. 이 시스템은 실제 데이터를 기반으로 혈연관계지수와 친자확률이 검증됨으로써 신뢰성이 확보됨은 물론, 대량 재난 재해 시 발생될 유전자 분석 자료의 관리 및 분석에 효과적으로 이용될 수 있을 것이다. 이 외에도 본 시스템은 데이터베이스와 알고리즘의 통합 환경, 사용자 중심 인터페이스, 프로세스 자동화 등 고급기능을 포함한다.

Tatan is a symbol of kinship and belonging in Scotland and a badge of identity recognized all over the world. Alongside the powerful historical and national resonance to Tartan for Scots it has been borrowed repeatedly by fashion. The pattern compositionof Tartan check is formed as a typical cross stripes that vertical line and hrizontal line meets rectangulary. And its color is much various and rich than other check pattern. So its magnificient spec-tacle that various all kinds of colors is dyed in cloth is second to name. Today we are as likely to meet tartan in a couturier dress as in a kilt or plaid. Tartan is distinctive in colour style and de-sign. It conveys personality ceremony and drama. All these aspects of its character have contributed to tartan being one of the best-known and best-loved fabrics in the world. In other parts of Europe traditional checked patterns declined and disappeared but in Scotland tartan survived strongly jist as the bagpipes also European flourished Due to geographical and cultural circumstances Scots were able to develop and enhance tartan and its remarkable individuality ensured its sur-vival in spite of adverse political and economic pressures. Tartan has been adopted as the national dress of all Scots. Lowland and High-land providing a powerful form of national cultural and personal identity. Whether tra-ditional or a recent creation whether tra-ditional or a recent creation whether a symbol of nationality or a substitute for nationhood tartan is no mean achievement.

The purpose of this study is to determine the characteristics of Filipino marriage immigrants' acculturation stages in regards to their Korean family life culture and to identify the source of the support for each stage, hence to provide information for educational programs that would promote successful acculturation for each stage. The following findings have been obtained through in-depth interviews with 18 female Filipino immigrants to Korea. In a range of obstacles from the Honeymoon Stage to the Confusion stage, the first are the language and the aspects of the food/cooking/ingredients/diet that are different from their own culture. Especially, pregnancy/childbirth is a major change in one's life and the biggest challenge in the acculturation process. As food and cooking are the first change that the immigrants have to face and get accustomed to in the early stage of their Korean life, the food culture is rather easier for the immigrants to get accustomed to than other parts of Korean life. From the Honeymoon Stage to the Harmony Stage, the immigrants make efforts to help their family in the home, while they look to their future in their children during the Autonomy Stage. Regardless of how long they have been in Korea, from the Honeymoon Stage to the Autonomy Stage, the immigrants have a hard time with the patriarchal environment in Korea due to the bilateral nature of kinship in the Philippines. Secondly, the immigrants receive the most support from their husband, family, and the tutors in Korean culture, while their mothers-in-law are the main source of the support for the Korean diet. At the Confusion Stage, the immigrants start visiting the regional multicultural family support centers and get help from the friends they meet there while depending on the TV for cooking tips. From the Harmony Stage, they may seek a job through the community network with their own effort and their children's help. In the Autonomy Stage, they are concerned about their children rather than their own parents, and they find their own identity as a Korean and realize that their effort is important.

본 연구는 필리핀 출신 결혼이주여성의 사회자본 특성을 근린지구 수준에서 설명하고자 한다. 연구의 주 대상은 한국의 대도시와 중소도시, 촌락 등에 거주하는 필리핀 출신 결혼이주여성들이며 그들이 주로 참여하는 근린공동 체- 학교, 성당공동체-에서 생산되는 사회자본에 대한 인식을 측정하여 개인적 특성과 공동체의 특성(결속력, 동질성 등)에 따른 사회자본의 특성에 대해 파악하였다. 연구 결과 학교공동체와 성당공동체에서 이주자의 개인적 특성 가운데 이주사회에서의 거주기간과 사회자본 간 관련성에서 차이를 보이고 있는데, 성당공동체는 거주기간과 사회자본 '관계'요소 간 정(+)적인 유의미한 결과가 도출되어 이주 후 기간이 증가할수록 성당공동체에서의 관계가 향상되는 것으로 나타났으며 학교공동체에서는 거주기간과 사회자본 '신뢰'요소가 부(-)적인 관계를 보이고 있어 거주기간이 길수록 신뢰가 오히려 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 동질 성과 결속력, 사회자본의 양에서도 성당공동체가 우위를 점하고 있으며 특히 사회자본 '관계'는 공동체의 동질성과 더 밀접하며 '규범'은 공동체의 결속력과 밀접하다는 결과를 보이고 있다. 두 공동체에서 모두 의사결정과 가치추구 공유 및 규칙 준수 등의 '규범' 요소가 구성원 간의 '관계'요소와 유사하며, 만족도와 정서적 도움 및 제도에 대한 구성원들의 '신뢰'가 개인문제를 토론하고 참여하는 '정치'와 근접한다는 공통된 경향이 나타나고 있다. 연구과정에서 주목되는 것은, 초국가적 행태가 발생하는 회로로서의 성당공동체의 상징성으로, 성당공동체는 필리핀 결혼이주여성들의 고유한 집단적 문화와 개인적 욕구가 사회자본의 생산과 맞물리는 영역으로 확인되었다. 이는 필리핀 결혼이주여성들의 공동체와 사회자본의 특성에서 이주자로서의 개인적 특성과 함께 필리핀 결혼이주여성이 집단적으로 보유하는 family reunion 등의 사회 문화적 특질이 주는 영향 또한 간과할 수 없음을 잘 보여주고 있다. 이러한 부분은 민족적 정체성을 바탕으로 한 공동체성과 사회자본이 우리 사회와의 상호문화성을 공유하고 실천할 수 있는 주요 통로가 될 수도 있다는 점에서 의미 있으며 나아가 '민족 단위의 공동체와 그 사회자본 연구'는 향후 더 다양한 공동체를 대상으로 다층의 공간 스케일로 확장, 연구되어야 할 필요가 있다.
