Objective: The aim of this study is to evaluate the accuracy and reliability of Spine-Pelvis Monitor(SPM) that was developed to measure 3-dimensional motion of spine and pelvis using tilt sensor and gyro sensor. Background: The main cause of low back pain is very much associated with the task using the low back and pelvis, but no measurement technique can quantify the both spine and pelvis. Method: For testing the SPM, 125 angles from three anatomical planes were measured three times in order to evaluate the accuracy and reliability. The accuracy of SPM in measuring dynamic motion was evaluated using digital motion analysis system. The motion pattern captured by two measuring methods was compared with each other. In result, the percentage error and Cronbach coefficient alpha were calculated to evaluate the accuracy and reliability. Results: The percentage error was 0.35% in flexion-extension on sagittal plane, 0.43% in lateral bending on coronal plane, and 0.40% in twisting on transverse plane. The Cronbach coefficient alpha was 1.00, 0.99 and 0.99 in sagittal, coronal and transvers plane, respectively. Conclusion: The SPM showed less than 1% error for static measurement, and showed reasonably similar pattern with the digital motion system. Application: The results of this study showed that the SPM can be the measuring method of spine pelvis motion that enhances the kinematic analysis of low back dynamics.

As the necessity of land information has increased according to development of computer and Information-communication, people have been interested in the satellite measurement system that can update Cadastral and Geographical information rapidly and exactly. Most Cadastral base points which had limitation of measurement technology in the 1910s were less accurate and were destroyed through the Korean War. They also many problems in the process of reinstallation. So, they require the quick and correct method of measurement in re-equipment of a base point and a parcel based survey and so on. This study intends to present the GPS survey direction by understanding and analysing all sorts of problems rising in case of applying the GPS to cadastral area in order to increase the efficiency of the GPS measurement, and also develop the GPS kinematic survey program to apply to the efficiency of a kinematic survey. As a result of research, I could confirm the accuracy of Cadastral base points in Kwangju area by using Korea GPS array and a base point, and could get the result similar to existent cadastral survey result with the coordinate conversion program of Cadastral technology research institute. We however have to pay our attention to the transformation of the plane coordinates because the difference between tens of cm and the existing result can outbreak according to the Gauss conformal double projection method. And, I could figure out the practicality of the developed GPS kinematic survey program, compared with common use program. I expect that it can be applied to the digital cadastral survey and the cadastral map renewal as well.

The purpose of this study is to maximize the use of framework data by a method for updating road framework data using a economical, rapid, and accurate Vehicle-based kinematic survey to get the latest road data among "transportation framework data" which was built in 2003. We collected data using a Vehicle-based kinematic survey with DGPS (Differential Global Positioning System) in Daejeon and Pyeongtaek city and verified the accuracy of line and point features between surveying and previous results. The result showed that Daejeon city which is located near GPS CORS (Continuously Operating Reference Station)s and receive a signal well had lower errors than 1/5,000 digital base map, and Pyeongtaek city which is located far from the stations and receive a signal badly had errors beyond the limits. The study showed that postprocessing method or Total Station surveying should be used where signals cannot be detected well after analyzing a receiving rate from GPS CORSs, the stations of other organizations should be shared, and further studies are needed.
In the case of forest areas, the installation of ground control points (GCPs) and the selection of terrain features, which are one of the unmanned aerial photogrammetry work process, are limited compared to urban areas, and safety problems arise due to non-visible flight due to high forest. To compensate for this problem, the drone equipped with a real time kinematic (RTK) sensor that corrects the position of the drone in real time, and a 3D flight method that fly based on terrain information are being developed. This study suggests to present a method for investigating damage using drones in forest areas. Position accuracy evaluation was performed for three methods: 1) drone mapping through GCP measurement (normal mapping), 2) drone mapping based on topographic data (3D flight mapping), 3) drone mapping using RTK drone (RTK mapping), and all showed an accuracy within 2 cm in the horizontal and within 13 cm in the vertical position. After evaluating the position accuracy, the volume of the landslide area was calculated and the volume values were compared, and all showed similar values. Through this study, the possibility of utilizing 3D flight mapping and RTK mapping in forest areas was confirmed. In the future, it is expected that more effective damage investigations can be conducted if the three methods are appropriately used according to the conditions of area of the disaster.

Recently, UFRs (Unmanned Flying Robots) have begun to be utilized in various areas for civilian and military applications. Due to this increased utilization, accidents involving UFRsare also increasing. To prevent or monitor accidents caused by UFRs, high-accuracy positioning information is one of the most important technical elements. This paper proposes an efficient UFR monitoring system which provides accurate UFR positioning information with low-cost onboard elements; a small ARM module based on an embedded Linux operating system, a low-cost single frequency GPS receiver with a cheap patch antenna, and a versatile wireless network interface module. The ground monitoring system employs a dual frequency GPS receiver to generate exact UFR coordinates with cm-level accuracy. By processing the UFR measurements based on the Inverse RTK (Real Time Kinematic) method, the ground monitoring system determines the cm-level accurate coordinates of the UFR. The feasibility of the proposed UFR monitoring system was evaluated by three experiments in terms of data loss and accuracy.
Compact Network Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) is a method that combines compact RTK and network RTK, and it can effectively reduce the time and spatial de-correlation errors. A network RTK user receives multiple correction information generated from reference stations that constitute a network, calculates correction information that is appropriate for one's own position through a proper combination method, and uses the information for the estimation of the position. This combination method is classified depending on the method for modeling the GPS error elements included in correction information, and the user position accuracy is affected by the accuracy of this modeling. Among the GPS error elements included in correction information, tropospheric delay is generally eliminated using a tropospheric model, and a combination method is then applied. In the case of a tropospheric model, the estimation accuracy varies depending on the meteorological condition, and thus eliminating the tropospheric delay of correction information using a tropospheric model is limited to a certain extent. In this study, correction information modeling accuracy performances were compared focusing on the Low-Order Surface Model (LSM), which models the GPS error elements included in correction information using a low-order surface, and a modified LSM method that considers tropospheric delay characteristics depending on altitude. Both of the two methods model GPS error elements in relation to altitude, but the second method reflects the characteristics of actual tropospheric delay depending on altitude. In this study, the final residual errors of user measurements were compared and analyzed using the correction information generated by the various methods mentioned above. For the performance comparison and analysis, various GPS actual measurement data were collected. The results indicated that the modified LSM method that considers actual tropospheric characteristics showed improved performance in terms of user measurement residual error and position domain residual error.
KAO(Korea Astronomy Observatory) GPS group has developed an iRTK system as a near-real time positioning system using GPS carrier phase data. We focused on improving the accuracy of positioning through the updated capability of data processing of KAO's iRTK system using low-cost L1 carrier phase receiver. The accuracy of a positioning was demonstrated by Extended Kalman filter. Experiments were accomplished using from 30m to 20km baselines. Within 10km, the positioning accuracy was improved by approximately 50-70% to the previous study using one minute observable data. However, it took two minutes to obtain 1m level positioning accuracy at 20km point. We expect that the developed iRTK system can be applied to the various fields of GPS in near-real time positioning.

Recently, a technique for acquiring spatial information data using UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) has been greatly developed. It is a very crucial issue of the GIS (Geographic Information System) mapping system that passes way point in the unmanned airframe and finally measures the accurate image and stable localization to the desired destination. Though positioning using DGPS (Differential Global Navigation System) or RTK-GPS (Real Time Kinematic-GPS) guarantee highly accurate, they are more expensive than the construction of a single positioning system using a single GPS. In the case of a low-priced single GPS system, the stability of the positioning data deteriorates. Therefore, it is necessary to supplement the uncertainty of the absolute position data of the UAV and to improve the accuracy of the current position data economically in the operating state of the UAV. The aim of this study was to present an algorithm enhancing the stability of position data in a single GPS mode of UAV with multiple GPS. First, the arrangement of multiple GPS receivers through the center of gravity of the UAV were examined. Next, MD (Mahalanobis Distance) is applied to detect instantaneous errors of GPS data in advance and eliminate outliers to increase the accuracy of previously collected multiple GPS data. Processing procedure for multiple GPS reception data by applying the center of the triangular method were presented to improve the position accuracy. Second, UAV navigation systems integrated multiple GPS through configuration of the UAV specifications were implemented. Using the unmanned airframe equipped with multiple GPS receivers, GPS data is measured with the TCM (Triangular Center Method). In addition, UAV equipped with multiple GPS were operated in study area and locational accuracy of multiple GPS of UAV with VRS (Virtual Reference Station) GNSS surveying were compared. The result showed that the error factors are compensated, and the error range are reduced, resulting in the reliability of the corrected value. In conclusion, the result in this paper is expected to realize high-precision position estimation at low cost in UAV using multiple low-cost GPS receivers.

This paper deals with a new approach to acquire the exterior orientation parameters based on GPS(Global Positioning System) in combination with IMU(Inertial Measuring Unit), which enables us to achieve the same accuracy with minimal ground control points comparing to the conventional photogrammetric method. To prove the possibility of practical use of GPS/INS photogrammetry, a survey flight was conducted loading with all necessary photographing systems. The observed data set by GPS/IMU were analyzed and verified :he accuracy performance of kinematic GPS, and also compared to those of conventional photogrammetry in various points of view.
To estimate structural displacement, a visually servoed paired structured light system (ViSP) was proposed in previous studies. The ViSP is composed of two sides facing each other, each with one or two laser pointers, a 2-DOF manipulator, a camera, and a screen. By calculating the positions of the laser beams projected onto the screens and rotation angles of the manipulators, relative 6-DOF displacement between two sides can be estimated. Although the performance of the system has been verified through various simulations and experimental tests, it has a limitation that the accuracy of the displacement measurement depends on the alignment of the laser pointers. In deriving the kinematic equation of the ViSP, the laser pointers were assumed to be installed perfectly normal to the same side screen. In reality, however, this is very difficult to achieve due to installation errors. In other words, the pose of laser pointers should be calibrated carefully before measuring the displacement. To calibrate the initial pose of the laser pointers, a specially designed jig device is made and employed. Experimental tests have been performed to validate the performance of the proposed calibration method and the results show that the estimated displacement with the initial pose calibration increases the accuracy of the 6-DOF displacement estimation.
