And this treatment heels abnormal reactions, nursing focuses so it was examined through literature review that nurses use many portions of the auricular acupuncture in their clinical cares of oriental medicine. This study was proved that the Mae-Chim acupuncture method among various methods of the auricular acupuncture is easy and simple so this method can be used by nurses. And the ear acupuncture site which controls diarrhea, insomnia, migraine, stress vomiting, dyspepsia, high fever, insufficient lactation, bowel dysfunction, menoxenia, anxiety, pruritus and can be found easily and is few the number of acupuncture so the oriental medicine nurses can apply easily to their clients. Therefore the independent oriental medicine nursing intervention can be developed by application of the auricular acupuncture therapy on the oriental medicine clinical nursing and home care in our community.

  • Diabetic nephropathy is defined that renal glomeruluses are damaged by diabetes melitus and proteins that are not excreted to urine normally are exhausted, or do not excrete waste matter to urine, so-called chronic renal failure state. Clinical stage is explained divided 5. If reached 4 or 5 stage, overt proteinuria is occurred to clinical nephropathy, and hypoalbuminemia, azotemia, hypertension, and edema become serious. Concept about edema is differing comprehension about mechanism of a disease, and treatment methodaccording to Sasang Constitution in Sasang Constitutional Medicine. I treated edemtous Soyangin(少陽人) patient with Dojeokgangkitang(導赤降氣湯) who diagnosed as diabetic nephropathy and wrongly treated in Soeumin. I have got good results, so I do case study.

  • Objectives: The purpose of this case study is to report the effect of Korean Medicine treatment on a patient diagnosed with drug-induced liver injury by oral administration of acetaminophen. Methods: A 21-year-old male patient with drug-induced liver injury visited the clinic five times from January 28th, 2019 to March 16th, 2019. The patient took Saenggan-tang extract during the treatment period. Results: The levels of serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and gamma-glutamyl transferase (GGT) were significantly decreased. The chief complaints of the patient, such as yellow-red urine and fatigue, were also relieved. Conclusion: Traditional Korean medicine has a beneficial effect on drug-induced liver injury.

  • Since the 1970s, the average life expectancy of Koreans has been increasing. Our concerns are not simply about longevity, but also about disability-free life. lately, Sasang constitutional medicine has attracted public attention, especially with respect to the elderly. The purpose of this study was to investigate the food habits, nutrients intake, and disease distribution among the elderly, according to their Sasang constitutions. The results are as follow : The distribution of constitutions of the subjects were Tae-eum 48.8%, So-yang 27.4%, So-eum 22.6%, and So-yang + So-eum 1.2%. In both elderly men and women, body weight, percent ideal body weight, and diastolic pressure of the Tae-eum were significantly higher than those of other constitutions. In both men and women, the level of hemoglobin in the Tae-eum was significantly higher than those of other constitutions. The level of LDL-cholesterol was higher, and the level of HDL-cholesterol was lower in the So-eum elderly women. Food habits of the So-eum were the most irregular, and nutrients intake of the So-eum was lower than that of other constitutions in both elderly men and women. In elderly men, the incidence of hypertension was the highest in the Tae-eum, and the incidence of gastritis was the highest in both So-yang and So-eum. In elderly women, the incidence of fatty liver was the highest in the Tae-eum and So-yang, and gastritis and hypertension were the highest in the So-eum. In the elderly, obese and anemic persons were significantly more in the Tae-eum and the So-eum, respectively. The results of this study showed that there were significant differences of physical, characeristics, food, habits, and distributions of disease for the subjects according to each Sasang constitutions. Intake of nutrient was poor, regardless of Sasang constitutions, in both men and women.

  • The Purpose of this study was to evaluate the reliability and the validation of four scales of Questionnaire for Sasang Constitution Classification (QSCC), newly constructed through statistical item analysis and to examine their diagnostic discrimination power. QSCC was administered to 105 inpatient at Kyung-Hee Oriental Medicine Hospital and local oriental clinics and 136 undergraduated students. 2 weeks later, QSCC was readministered to 220 same subjects. Data were collected during about 2 months from february to Apr. 20, 1992. For the purposes of this study, the collected data were analyzed by internal consistancy, test-retest reliability, ANOVA, Pearson correlation and discrimination analysis of spss pc+ v3.0 program. The results were as follows: 1. The reliability of four scales of QSCC was relatively favorable. The internal consistancy and test-retest reliability of Tae-Yaung-In(太陽人) scale were respectively Cronbach's ${\alpha}=0.9$ and r=0.89. Those of So-Yaung-In(少陽人) scale were respectively ${\alpha}=0.81$ and r=0.93. Those of Tae-Em-In(太陰人) scale were respectively ${\alpha}=0.72$ and r=0.74. Those of So-Em-In(少陰人) scale were respectively ${\alpha}=0.81$ and r=0.93. 2. The diagnostic discrimination abilities(Hit-ratio=56%)of QSCC were found to have more about 20% improvement than propotional chance criteria(37%). Especially, Hit-ratios for So-Yaung-In(63%) and Tae-Em-In(60%) were more high than that for So-Em-In(48%) 3. For male subjects, the construct validity of QSCC was founded to be relatively favorable. But that of QSCC for females was poor.

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to compare depression and quality of life between the Tae Yin In and So Yin In groups of the Sasangin constitution in Korean elderly women. Methods: A total of 203 (Tae Yin In=103, So Yin In=100) women aged over 65 yr, who were living in Seoul or Gyung-gi province, participated in the study. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, $X^2$-test, independent t-test, ANOVA, and Scheffe test using SPSS PC+16 version. Results: Individuals in the So Yin In group had significantly worse depression than those in the Tae Yin In group. Those in the Tae Yin In group tended to have a better quality of life than those in the So Yin In group, but no significant difference was observed. Furthermore, individuals in the Tae Yin In and So Yin In groups all had low quality of life scores comparing with median value. Significant differences in depression and quality of life according to age and subjective health status were observed in the Tae Yin In group. In the So Yin In group, significant differences in quality of life according to education and subjective health status were observed. Conclusion: A concrete nursing intervention based on the Sasangin constitution for elderly women should be explored to decrease depression and improve quality of life. Additionally, the general characteristics of elderly women should be considered to develop an appropriate nursing intervention.
