  • The need to accommodate much complex algorithm. high communication functionality and easier user interface lays heavy burden on the software developer of the protection relay these days. Using lightweight real-time kernel like uC/OS, the software development process can have much structural and easier feature. And total cost needed to development and maintenance of the software also can be reduced by development based on these real-time kernels.

  • The explicit finite element method is an essential tool for solving large problems with severe nonlinear characteristics, but its results can be difficult to interpret. In particular, it can be impossible to evaluate its acceleration responses because of severe discontinuity, extreme noise or aliasing. We suggest a new post-processing method for transient responses and their response spectra. We propose smoothing methods using a Gaussian kernel without in depth knowledge of the complex frequency characteristics; such methods are successfully used in the filtering of digital signals. This smoothing can be done by measuring the velocity results and monitoring the response spectra. Gaussian kernel smoothing gives a better smoothness and representation of the peak values than other approaches do. The floor response spectra can be derived using smoothed accelerations for the design.

  • Many studies have been done on secure kernel and encryption filesystem for system security. Secure kernel can protect user or system data from unauthorized and/or illegal accesses by applying various access control policy like ACL, MAC, RBAC and so on, but cannot protect user or system data from stealing backup media or disk itself. In addition to access control policy, there are many studies on encryption filesystem that encrypt file data within system level. However few studies have been done on combining access control policy and encryption filesystem. In this paper we proposed a new encryption filesystem that provides a transparency to the user by integrating encryption service into virtual filesystem layer within secure kernel that has various access control policies. Proposed encryption filesystem can provide a simple encryption key management architecture by using encryption keys based on classes of MAC policy and overcome a limit of physical data security of access control policy for stealing.

Evaluation of protective effect of peach kernel extracts on radiation-induced DNA damage in human blood lymphocytes in the single cell gel electrophoresis assay (단세포 겔 전기영동법을 이용한 사람 림프구 DNA 손상에 대한 복숭아씨 추출물의 방사선 방어효과 평가)

  • The alkaline single-cell gel electrophoresis (SCGE) assay, called the comet assay, has been applied to the detection of DNA damage from a number of chemical and biological factors in vivo and in vitro. The comet assay is a novel method to assess DNA single-strand breaks, alkali-labile sites in individual cells. The effect of peach kernel extracts on radiation-induced DNA damage in human blood lymphocytes was evaluated by the SCGE assay. The lymphocytes, with or without pretreatment of the extracts, were exposed to 0, 0.1, 0.3, 0.5, 1.0 and 2.0 Gy of $^{60}Co$ gamma ray. Significantly increased tail moment, which was a marker of DNA strand breaks in the comet assay, showed an excellent dose-response relationship. The treatment of the peach kernel extracts reduced the DNA damage by 30 % in irradiated groups as compared to that in non-treated control groups. The result indicates that the extracts shows radioprotective effect on lymphocyte DNA when assessed by the comet assay.

  • Linux는 다양한 하드웨어 플랫폼을 지원하며, 강력한 네트워크 지원 기능, 다양한 형식의 파일시스템 지원 기능 등 높은 성능을 자랑한다. 그러나, 소스코드의 공개로 인하여 많은 보안상의 취약성을 내포하고 있으며, 최근 이를 이용한 해킹사고가 많이 발생하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 Linux상에 상존하는 보안 취약성을 조사하고, 보안 요구사항을 도출하며, 최근 해킹의 상당부분을 차지하고 있는 Buffer Overflow 공격 방지를 위한 방안으로 커널 수정을 통해 Secure Linux를 개발하고자 한다.

  • 최근 국내에 공개 운영 체제인 리눅스 시스템의 증가함에 따라서 보안에 중요성이 커지고 있는데 LKM 백도어는 커널 소스를 변경 하기 때문에 강력한 기능을 가지고 있어, 악의적인 코드로 인해 시스템에 근피해를 입힐 수 있다. LKM백도어 방지에 대한 여러 가지 방법이 소개가 되었지만, 대부분의 경우 커널을 수정해야 하기 때문에 설치가 쉽지 않으며, 사용의 제약이 많다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 커널에 의존하지 않고 insmod안에 LKM을 탐지를 할 수 있는 시스템을 설계를 하며, 일반적인 모듈과 LKM 백도어 모듈을 구분하여 일반적인 모듈은 정상적인 진행을 하고, LKM 백도어에 대해서는 로딩을 할 수 없는 안정적인 사용을 할 수 있는 시스템을 제안 한다.

  • In this paper, digital motor control center using protection relay is developed in order to protect power systems by means of timely fault detection and diagnosis during operation for induction motor which have various load environments and capacities in power systems. Digital motor control center is employed by power supervisory control systems without separate remote terminal unit and transducers adding communicational ability. Also we develope a maximum demand controller to control the load effectively at peak status and a power factor controller to minimize real power losses and improve the power factor. Therefore, when using the developed controller, real time computation is possible by loading DSP in hardware and applying real-time kernel which can convert each algorithm to task module.

  • The files of intellectual property on computer systems have increasingly been exposed to such threats that they can be flowed out by internal users or outer attacks through the network. The File Outflow Protection System detects file outflow when users not only copy files on client computers into storage devices, but also print them. This Protection system has been designed to Win32 API hooking by I/O Manager in kernel level if files are flowed out by copying. As a result, the monitoring system has exactly detected file outflows, which is proved through testing.

  • In general, dose rates for a monoenergetic gamma emitter uniformly distributed in an infinite cloud have been calulated by using the monoenergetic point-isotorpic source kernel technique. The most serious limitation on use of the kernel technique is subjected to the fact that it estimates the dose only at the surface of body. As a result, an alternative method is presented in which estimates of dose rate for immersion in a radioactive cloud are resulted from the scattered photon spectra incident on the surface of body. The results are in excellent agreement with other's. Work is currently in progress to apply these results to immersion dose problems associated with absorbed dose distribution in the MIRD phatom.

SHIELD DESIGN OF CONCRETE WALL BETWEEN DECAY TANK ROOM AND PRIMARY PUMP ROOM IN TRIGA FACILITY

  • The objective of this study is to recommend the radiation protection design parameters from the shielding point of view for concrete wall between the decay tank room and the primary pump room in TRIGA Mark-II Research Reactor Facility. The shield design for this concrete wall has been performed with the help of Point-kernel Shielding Code Micro-Shield 5.05 and this design was also validated based on the measured dose rate values with Radiation Survey Meter (G-M Counter) considering the ICRP-60 (1990) recommendations for occupational dose rate limit ($10{\mu}Sv/hr$). The recommended shield design parameters are: (i) thickness of 114.3 cm Ilmenite-Magnetite Concrete (IMC) or 129.54 cm Ordinary Reinforced Concrete (ORC) for concrete wall A (ii) thickness of 66.04 cm Ilmenite-Magnetite Concrete (IMC) or 78.74 cm Ordinary Reinforced Concrete (ORC) for concrete wall B and (iii) door thickness of 3.175 cm Mild Steel (MS) on the entrance of decay tank room. In shielding efficiency analysis, the use of I-M concrete in the design of this concrete wall shows that it reduced the dose rate by a factor of at least 3.52 times approximately compared to ordinary reinforced concrete.
