The design of authentication mechanism using kerberos and X.509 protocol in distributed environment (분산환경에서 Kerberos와 X.509 Protocol을 이용한 인증 메카니즘의 설계)

  • Kerberos is the most used example of authentication technology in distributed environment. In this paper, based on this method, a new authentication mechanism associated with X.509 protocol that authenticates services between regions is presented. Since any suggestions to regional services are not described in Kerberos, the authentication between regiona is performed via the connected chain obtained from x.509. These two protocols have distinguished key management systems -X.509 is designed using an asymmetric method, while Kerberos using a symmetric method. In order to provide regional services, X.509 is employed on connection part and Kerberos on actual authetication part.

  • 본 논문은 WPKI 환경에서 KXW(Kerberos V5, X.509 V3, WIM) 인증 메커니즘을 설계한다. 인증 프로토콜로는 Kerberos V5을 이용한 사용자 인증 문제를 해결하며, WAP Forum에서 정의한 보안구조 및 요소, 기존 인증 시스템과 관련된 각종 암호 기술을 살펴본 후, WPKI 기반 구조와 전송 계층 보안등을 이용하여 응용 계층에서의 사용자 인증을 위해 서버 클라이언트가 지니는 설계상의 문제점과 E2E 보안상 취약점을 찾아 대안을 제공한다. 인증 프로토콜인 Kerberos V5와 그 단점을 보완 할 수 있는 무선용 X.509 V3을 결합한 후, 보안성이 우수한 WIM을 인증서 저장 매체로 활용한 올바른 인증 방법 해결책을 제시한다.

  • In this paper describes for use Authentication with the WPKI and Kerberos protocol. this paper is the security structure that defined in a WAP forum and security and watches all kinds of password related technology related to the existing authentication system. It looks up weakness point on security with a problem on the design that uses wireless public key-based structure and transmission hierarchical security back of a WAP forum, and a server-client holds for user authentication of an application level all and all, and it provides one counterproposal. Therefore, We offer authentication way solution that connected X.509 with using WIM for complement an authentication protocol Kerberos and its disadvantages.

  • 보안 프로토콜을 이용하여 사용자 상호 간의 정보의 비밀성, 무결성, 부인방지를 보장하는 일은 반드시 필요한 과제가 되었다. 이에 따라 해당 서비스에 대해 적합한 사용자를 인증하고 인가하기 위해 다양한 보안 프로토콜(EKE, S/KEY, Kerberos등)이 사용되고 있으며, 이와 더불어 보안 프로토콜을 정형적으로 명세하고 검증하기 위한 다양한 방법들이 연구되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 Casper와 FDR을 이용하여 SSH 프로토콜의 취약성을 분석하고, 수정하여 SSH 프로토콜의 안전성을 향상시키고자 하였다.

  • 인터넷의 비약적인 발전과 더불어, 인터넷을 활용한 각종 온라인 서비스가 활성화되어 가고 있는 추세이다. 온라인 쇼핑몰, 온라인 뱅킹과 같은 전자 상거래 서비스는 이용자와 서비스 제공자간의 상호 신뢰를 기반으로 동작해야만 하는 서비스이다. 해당 서비스에 대한 적합한 사용자를 인증하고 인가하기 위한 다양한 인증 프로토콜(EKE, S/KEY, Kerberos 등)에 대한 다양한 연구가 진행되어 오고 있다. 본 논문에서는 FDR, Casper과 같은 보안 프로토콜 분석 및 검증 도구를 이용하여 SSH 프로토콜의 위험성을 분석하여 보안 프로토콜의 안전성을 향상시키고자 한다.

For a specified purpose through P2P, the Peers who make temporary a group delivery a request efficient and safe. And the resources can be jointed common, cooperation and communication. When P2P is developed more, we can expect more formation of online community and development. But to be a safe of personal ID and password in internet, it should be possible to make a key-exchange. In the paper, it suggest P2P security system suitable to personal security that Kerberos be transformed. The user who make community in P2P, have Kerberos Server, and using Physical Address of Ethernet card in personal computer, authenticate users.

  • In the home gateway environment, several characteristics for the user authentication mechanism should be reflected separately from the existing distributed service environment. First, the platform of a home gateway is a component based system that its services are installed dynamically. Second, the convenience that user can use several services by authentication of once should be offered. Finally, the system resources of a home gateway are restricted. However, a user authentication mechanism that reflected these characteristics is not shown at the user admin service specification of the OSGi service platform.(OSGi is the representative standardization organization of hone gateway.) Also, there is no existing authentication protocol that satisfies these qualities at the same time. In this paper, we propose a new user authentication mechanism considering those characteristics for the home gateway environment. We also design and implement an independent authentication service bundle based on the OSGi service platform so that it can perform user authentication operations for each bundle service. We supplement and extend the Kerberos Protocol that can apply.

  • The request of Green-IT technology and recommend of computer hardware resource are increasing explosively. So, necessity of Cloud computing is increasing rapidly. Berkeley Univ. announced teens constituent that threat Cloud computing in 2009 and problem for user authentication should be solved as is urgentest among them. So, We wish to propose effective user authentication protocol in Cloud computing environment. Secure safety for user quotation through Kerberos's ticket issue that is existent representative user authentication techniques, and defined authentication procedure of two steps that flow user authentication and service authentication through PKI's. Is uncomplicated structurally more than efficiency for certification protocol and examination result about safety, existent PKI that propose and simplify achievement procedure and system configuration more than Kerberos and reduced response time.

  • Kerberos authenticates clients using symmetric-key cryptography, and supposed to Oust other systems of the realm in distributed network environment. But, authentication and authorization are essential elements for the security. In this paper, we design an efficient and secure authentication/authorization mechanism by introducing the public/private-key and installing the proxy privilege server to Kerberos. In the proposed mechanism, to make a system more secure, the value of the session key is changed everytime using MAC(message authentication code) algorithm with the long-term key for user-authentication and a random number exchanged through the public key. Also, we reduce the number of keys by simplifying authentication steps. Proxy privilege server certifies privilege request of client and issues a privilege attribute certificate. Application server executes privilege request of client which is included a privilege attribute certificate. Also, a privilege attribute certificate is used in delegation. We design an efficient and secure authentication/authorization algorithm with Kerberos.
