  • Now a day, the Korean National Railroad is taking new age with the opening of KTX (Korea Train Express). Korean National Railroad is planning using the GSM-r for put KTX and existing equipment to a good. GSM-R is radio communication method selected by ERTMS (European Rail Traffic Management System). So a new algorithm for train movement is necessary to radio communication form. This paper is come up with an algorithm for like that situation.

고속철도(KTX) 개통이 지역경제에 미치는 영향 분석과 시사점 (The impacts of high speed train on the regional economy of Korea)

  • KTX 개통으로 예상되었던 파급효과로는 건설투자로 인한 생산 및 고용 확대와 항공, 고속버스, 철도 등 운송수단간 수요 대체효과를 들 수 있다. 이외에도 기업의 지방이전, 수도권 기능의 분산을 통한 국토의 균형 개발, 고속철도 이용에 따른 시간비용 절감, 승용차의 고속도로 이용 및 교통사고 감소로 인한 사회 경제적 비용 축소도 기대되었다. 또한 KTX역 중심의 관광 네트워크를 통한 지역 관광 여가 산업의 발전과 지역 문화 예술 인적 교류 활성화를 통한 삶의 질 향상도 예상되었다. 반면에 고속철도망 연결로 주변 중소도시의 업무기능, 노동력 및 구매력이 인근 대도시로 흡수되면서 지방상권이 위축되는 지역불균형 심화문제도 예측되었다. 이와 함께 인구 및 기업의 유출로 인한 지역경제 공동화 등의 부작용도 우려되었다. 본 연구는 KTX 개통을 통한 고속철도망 연결이 지역경제에 어떠한 영향을 미쳤는지를 알아보기 위해 진행되었다. 먼저 백화점 판매액 불변지수를 이용한 기본모형에 대한 분석에서는 임금소득, 주택매매가격지수, 그리고 회사채수익률이 모두 유의하였고, 기본모형에 추가로 고려된 KTX 이용인구비율도 백화점 판매액 불변지수의 변동에 유의미한 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 지역 소비유출 효과를 확인하기 위해서 지역별 타지역 의료기관이용률을 종속변수로 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 부산의 경우에만 KTX 이용인구비율과 타지역 의료기관이용률간에 유의한 관련성을 확인할 수 있었다. 대구의 경우에는 통계적으로 유의하지 않았다. KTX 이용 자료가 부족한 상황에서 KTX 개통에 따른 지역경제에 대한 영향을 구체적으로 파악하는데 한계가 있다. 그러나 KTX의 효과가 개통 초기보다는 다소 감소되었지만 지역경제 발전 효과 및 가능성은 여전히 확인할 수 있었다.

  • In this paper, driving functions of the Korea Train Express (KTX) were decomposed based on systems engineering architecture for a preceding research of hazard identification and scenarios deduction of the KTX. Moreover, interfaces of the decomposed driving functions were analysed to figure out purposes of the driving functions.

고속철도 운행1년의 성과와 개선 방향 -일본의 동해도 신간선과 비교하여- (Achievement of the KTX project for the past year and improvement measures - compared with those of the Tokaido Shinkansen-)

  • In this paper, I scrutinize what Korea has achieved from the KTX(Korea Train Express) project for the past one year of operation since it was open to public in April 2004 while looking into some improvement measures for better services in the future. I tried to compare the clements with those of the Tokaido Shinkasen in Japan. As things may turn at its premier operation, the KTX has been suffering from a small number of passengers, low in demand. However, when I compared the previous year with the post KTX operation of one year, demand of the passenger has increased $40\%$ on Kyong-bu line. I figured the first one year of the KTX operation pretty much followed in the footstep of the Tokaido Shinkansen's. For example, the rate of the each train to be on time as the timetable was equivalent while KTX went through less technical problems than the Tokaido Shinkansen. I have come up with some ideas for improvement, which I believe will lead to the development growth of KTX. First, I suggest that we complete the construction of laying new rails on Kyong-bu line at the earliest possible time. Second, we need to extend the high speed network as well as the rail modernization. Last, I have no doubt that we should secure high technology before we forge in the overseas markets.

Pressure Characteristics on Korean High-Speed Railway Acoustic Screen Using 1/61 Scaled-Down Moving Model Rig

  • The experiments for aerodynamic characteristics of railway acoustic screen are performed using 1/61 scaled-down moving model rig facility which employs an axis symmetry and one wire guidance method. The launching mechanism is an air-gun type. The train model for the experiment is the high speed train (Korea Train Express: KTX) and the tested speed is about 300 km/h. The tested train length is 61 em which is corresponding to two units of KTX train. The cross sectional area and weight of train model are 0.00264 $m^2$ and 287 g, respectively. The Reynolds number based on the model train length is $1.2{\times}10^7$. The strength of pressure wave is measured using piezo typed pressure sensor. The measured pick value of pressure was as high as 365 Pa in the shortest gap between the acoustic screen and model train. The measured pressure is well compared with the field test data of mc 779-1 [2] values. However, the experimental data were slightly lower than the mc 779-1 values. The results show the model test can be used as a substitute for the field test.

지방자치단체 광고효용성에 대한 탐색적 연구: KTX 광고노출 환경을 중심으로 (Pilot Study for Analysis of TV Ads of Local Governments)

  • Along side with the rapid growth of local governments' advertising bills, there are few studies focused on the effectiveness of these ads. Especially one of the media being used by the local governments is the Korea Express Train (KTX), where they advertise in the train coaches' KTX video monitor. Unfortunately the ads in KTX are exposed without audio mostly. The current study, therefore, probed on the effectiveness of these ads. This study utilized transportation theory and content analysis methodology to give insight to its discourse. We established two analysis units (camera and subtitles), and then analyzed 107 local government ads. From the camera analysis, it is observed that local governments' festival and tour promotion ads more often employ dynamic angles such as drone shot and long shot. Also, from subtitles usage analysis, it is observed that many of the ads make use of large size titles and subtitles which could prevent viewers seeing visual shots. In the special case audio-less KTX ads, this study recommends emphasis on subtitles which will enhance the ad effectiveness of the ad messages.

  • High-speed trains with maximum speed of 300km/h, named KTX, have started revenue services since April 2004. Because of the geographical features of Korea a large portion of the 'Kyung-Bu' line is comprised of tunnels, which may cause excessive noise in a vehicle. The KTX interior noise follows in tunnel structure and the place where the quality appears different, the quality against hereupon from the commerce vehicle from the research which it sees it executes and comparison to analyze.

  • The concurrent engineering technologies have been broadly used in the field of the design, testing, manufacturing and maintenance works to reduce development time and costs. For this purpose, many design environments with the product data management system, the virtual engineering system and web database system are developed. In this research, we developed the driving simulator of the KTX(Korea Train Express) as a basic study for building the concurrent engineering design environment of rolling stock. The virtual track was developed from the Seoul to the Busan and the Daejeon to Mockpo to generate immersible driving environment. Also, fault generation systems were developed to educate drivers of the KTX. We expect to reduce the time and costs of newly developed rolling stock using the design environment developed in the research.

  • RCM developed by American air industry in early 1960, its process is most realistic for some physical assets and it permits the system to maintain given function status through decision of demand about optimum maintenance. Therefore, many industries have selected RCM technique and have carried out RCM in order to solve many problems concerning maintenance management as improvement of reliability and availability of facilities, removal of hazard element about break down and retrenchment of maintenance cost. Through the execution of RCM, we can solve actual problems. And finally we will be able to develop more and more maintenance activities with RCM notion. In this study, we will consider the application of KTX-RCM which is set up with basic theory of RCM and constructed to improve vehicle safety, availability and regularity of KTX, linking with CMMS(Computerized Maintenance Management System).
