This paper aims to examine the use of the Balanced Scorecard in a not-for-profit organization (the Korea Shipping Association). The KSA has begun using the Balanced Scorecard paradigm in its strategic planning process. In this paper an overview is presented of the basic concepts of the Balanced Scorecard including the financial perspective, customer perspective, internal process perspective, and learning and growth perspective. The accounting system and its pros and cons of the KSA are then surveyed in terms of its performance evaluation. The application of the Balanced Scorecard approach to the KSA is discussed in detail. Implications in using the Balanced Scorecard are discussed. Finally, conclusions regarding the use of the Balanced Scorecard in a not-for-profit organization are presented. Through this paper, the comprehensive understanding of the performance evaluation for not-for-profit organizations as the KSA would be promoted.

This research aims to analyse the practices adopted by social media users in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), specifically users of Facebook and Snapchat. To collect data from participants, a questionnaire was used, generating 915 responses. The analysis of the data shows a clear preference for Snapchat over Facebook in the KSA, where 89% of the participants have accounts on Snapchat compared to 66% of them with accounts on Facebook. Moreover, the preference for Snapchat over Facebook has been clearly shown in the daily usage of participants, where 83% of those with Snapchat accounts can be described as very active users. They have accessed their Snapchat accounts at least once a day compared to only 15% of Facebook users. Different reasons were provided by the participants explaining the practices they adopted. We believe that such research could help social media applications' designers and policy makers to understand the behaviour of users in the KSA when using social media applications and the rationale behind their behaviour and preferences. This understanding could help improve the performance of current applications and new ones.
This study aimed to explore social work practice tasks and KSA(Knowledge, Skill, Ability) that are being used most frequently in practice field so that developing contents of training program for social worker. The participants in this study included 340 social worker in community welfare center nationwide and exploratory statistical methods were used. The specific result were as follows: 1.social work service was classified four dimensions(direct service, community service, organizational strategic and human resource management, and indirect service). 2.In each dimension, important practice tasks were screened. 3.Basic KSA of social worker that were needed to perform these tasks successfully were screened. On basis of these results, this paper provided some practical strategics for developing training program.
We report patterns of astronomical seeing at KSA SEMO (Korea Science Academy Space Earth and Man Observatory). Though the data of the seeing measured at the local observatory is essential in identifying the seeing of the observatory, systematic measurement of seeing has not been made in Pusan yet. For this reason, KSA SEMO adopted the Santa Barbara Instrument Group (SBIG) Seeing Monitor to constantly record the seeing. The seeing monitoring was done through an elaborate procedure involving direct CCD images in the focal plane which were subsequently analyzed for the full width at half maximum (FWHM) Gaussian widths. Based on the seeing monitoring for 8 months, we classified five patterns of the seeing at KSA SEMO: 'Sunset/Sunrise Effect', 'Extreme Fluctuation', 'Sudden Increment', 'Daily Variation' and 'Stable Condition'. Seeing was generally good from 1:00 am to 3:00 am than other times, and it was also better in Winter than in Summer.
Vegetable oils are desirable inexpensive feedstocks for various bioproducts. The content of unsaturated fatty acids such as oleic and linoleic acids are 22% and 55% for soybean oil, 26% and 60% for corn oil, and 61% and 21% for canola oil, respectively. Keto and hydroxy fatty acids are useful industrial chemicals, used in plasticizer, surfactant, lubricant and detergent formulations because of their special chemical properties such as higher viscosity and reactivity compared with other fatty acids. In this study, a microbial isolate, Flavobacterium sp. strain DS5 (NRRL B-14859), was used to convert oleic acid to 10-ketostearic acid (10-KSA) via 10-hydroxystearic acid (10-HSA). Two bioconversion products, 10-KSA and 10-HSA, were quantitatively and qualitatively analyzed using gas chromatography, gas chromatography-mass spectrometry, and $^1H-$ and $^{13}C$-nuclear magnetic resonance. The maximum production of 10-KSA and 10-HSA in flask cultures were 3.4 g/L and 0.5 g/L, respectively. The optimum concentrations of glucose and yeast extract, addition time and volume of oleic acid for 10-KSA production were less than 20 g/L, more than 5 g/L, 18 hand 0.3 ml/50 ml, respectively.
We study on administration system and teaching of R &E(Research and Education) in Korea Science Academy(KSA) laying stress on Mathematics project No.7. The corrosion behavior of alloys in a molten salt was investigated along with the oxidation characteristics in the air. The basic composition of alloys in the study was Fe-25Ni-7Cr with Si and RE(rare-earth metal) as additives. The corrosion rate of the alloys was low in a molten salt of LiCl while the rate was high in the mixed molten salt of LiCl and $Li_2O$. When Si is added to the base alloy of Fe-25Ni-7Cr, corrosion resistance was improved as the Si content is increased up to 3%, however, it was observed that the corrosion resistance was getting worse as the Si content is increased. The base alloy with 2.43% of Si and 0.9% of RE(KSA-65), showed higher corrosion rate compared to that of KSA-63 alloy with an equivalent amount of only Si. The corrosion resistance of KSA-65 was similar to that of the base alloy(KSA-60). The oxidation resistance of KSA-65 alloy was greatly increased even at $850^{\circ}C$ for a long term exposure.

This research aimed to provide a profound description of the practices of social media users in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), specifically the users of Facebook® (FB) and Snapchat® (SC), the reasons for these practices, decisions made, and the people involved. Such research would be of significant help to designers and policymakers of social media applications in understanding user practices when using social media applications and the reasons for such practices in the KSA. This better comprehension would be of significant help in improving current applications and creating new ones. According to the data analysis, there was a clear preference for SC over FB in the KSA. Most participants with SC accounts were described as very active users, accessing their accounts at least once a day compared to FB users. The users were led by this high preference for SC to create new words derived from the name of the application and use them in daily life. We showed our experience of carrying out a study in which the main objective was to collect factual empirical data from participants about their daily usage of social media applications while considering the unique cultural settings in the KSA. Mixed quantitative and qualitative methods were used to triangulate the data, increasing its trustworthiness and validity. Multiple perspectives were obtained using various data collection methods. Therefore, conclusions would not be confounded with limitations of any particular methodology or with conditions of any collection rounds. This research would constitute a valuable guide for researchers intending to use methods with male and female informants from different cultures, preparing them for potential challenges and suggesting possible solutions.
