  • 가구 분야에서는 인간공학적 원리를 가구 설계에 적용하려는 노력들이 계속되고 있으며, ISO TC159 에 맞추어 각국의 규격들도 변경하고 있다. 우리나라의 KS 규격은 1960년대 후반부터 제정되어 몇 차례 개정되어 사용되고 있다. 그러나 KS 규격은 '국민 인체 크기의 변화'와 '시장과 소비자 요구의 변화'를 제대로 반영하지 못하고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 여러 국제규격의 비교 분석을 통하여, 국민 인체 크기의 변화를 쉽게 반영할 수 있는 KS 가구 규격체계를 제시하고자 하였다.
