In this paper, we designed and implemented a program to measure and to judge the accuracy of yoga postures using Azure Kinect. The program measures all joint positions of the user through Azure Kinect Camera and sensors. The measured values of joints are used as data to determine accuracy in two ways. The measured joint data are determined by trigonometry and Pythagoras theorem to determine the angle of the joint. In addition, the measured joint value is changed to relative position value. The calculated and obtained values are compared to the joint values and relative position values of the desired posture to determine the accuracy. Azure Kinect Camera organizes the screen so that users can check their posture and gives feedback on the user's posture accuracy to improve their posture.
A 3D camera-based on-site work-related musculoskeletal disorder risk assessment(WMDs) tool has been developed. The device consists of Kinect a 3D camera manufactured by Microsoft, a servo-motor, and a mobile robot. To complement inherent narrow field of view(FOV) of Kinect, Kinect is rotated according to PID servo-control algorithm by a servo-motor attached underneath, to track movement of a subject, producing skeleton-based motion data. With servo-control, full 360 degrees tracking of a test subject is possible by single Kinect. It was found from experimental tests that the proposed device can be successfully employed for on-site WMDs risk assessing tool.

This paper investigates applicability of Microsoft $Kinect^{(R)}$, RGB-depth camera, to implement a 3D image and spatial information for sensing a target. The relationship between the image of the Kinect camera and the pixel coordinate system is formulated. The calibration of the camera provides the depth and RGB information of the target. The intrinsic parameters are calculated through a checker board experiment and focal length, principal point, and distortion coefficient are obtained. The extrinsic parameters regarding the relationship between the two Kinect cameras consist of rotational matrix and translational vector. The spatial images of 2D projection space are converted to a 3D images, resulting on spatial information on the basis of the depth and RGB information. The measurement is verified through comparison with the length and location of the 2D images of the target structure.

Real-time remote monitoring system has an important value in many surveillance situations. It allows someone to be informed of what is happening in his monitoring locations. Kinect v2 is a new kind of camera which gives computers eyes and can generate different data such as color and depth images, audio input and skeletal data. In this paper, using Kinect v2 sensor with its depth image, we present a monitoring system in a space covered by Kinect. Therefore, based on space covered by Kinect camera, we define a target area to monitor using depth range by setting minimum and maximum distances. With computer vision library (Emgu CV), if there is an object tracked in the target space, kinect camera captures the whole image color and sends it in database and user gets at the same time a notification on his mobile device wherever he is with internet access.

In this paper, an algorithm using RGB-depth camera is proposed to detect smoke in interrior. RGB-depth camera, the Kinect provides RGB color image and depth information. The Kinect sensor consists of an infra-red laser emitter, infra-red camera and an RGB camera. A specific pattern of speckles radiated from the laser source is projected onto the scene. This pattern is captured by the infra-red camera and is analyzed to get depth information. The distance of each speckle of the specific pattern is measured and the depth of object is estimated. As the depth of object is highly changed, the depth of object plain can not be determined by the Kinect. The depth of smoke can not be determined too because the density of smoke is changed with constant frequency and intensity of infra-red image is varied between each pixels. In this paper, a smoke detection algorithm using characteristics of the Kinect is proposed. The region that the depth information is not determined sets the candidate region of smoke. If the intensity of the candidate region of color image is larger than a threshold, the region is confirmed as smoke region. As results of simulations, it is shown that the proposed method is effective to detect smoke in interior.
As the distribution of 3D content such as augmented reality and virtual reality increases, the importance of real-time computer animation technology is increasing. However, the computer animation process consists mostly of manual or marker-attaching motion capture, which requires a very long time for experienced professionals to obtain realistic images. To solve these problems, animation production systems and algorithms based on deep learning model and sensors have recently emerged. Thus, in this paper, we study four methods of implementing natural human movement in deep learning model and kinect camera-based animation production systems. Each method is chosen considering its environmental characteristics and accuracy. The first method uses a Kinect camera. The second method uses a Kinect camera and a calibration algorithm. The third method uses deep learning model. The fourth method uses deep learning model and kinect. Experiments with the proposed method showed that the fourth method of deep learning model and using the Kinect simultaneously showed the best results compared to other methods.

In this paper, we propose a gaze correction method for realistic video teleconferencing. Typically, cameras used in teleconferencing are installed at the side of the display monitor, but not in the center of the monitor. This system makes it too difficult for users to contact each eyes. Therefore, eys contact is the most important in the immersive videoconferencing. In the proposed method, we use the stereo camera and the depth camera to correct the eye contact. The depth camera is the kinect camera, which is the relatively cheap price, and estimate the depth information efficiently. However, the kinect camera has some inherent disadvantages. Therefore, we fuse the kinect camera with stereo camera to compensate the disadvantages of the kinect camera. Consecutively, for the gaze-corrected image, view synthesis is performed by 3D warping according to the depth information. Experimental results verify that the proposed system is effective in generating natural gaze-corrected images.

Computer vision is coming more interesting with new imaging sensors' new capabilities which enable it to understand more its surrounding environment by imitating human vision system with artificial intelligence techniques. In this paper, we made experiments with Kinect camera, a new depth sensor for object detection and distance measurement functions, most essential functions in computer vision such as for unmanned or manned vehicles, robots, drones, etc. Therefore, Kinect camera is used here to estimate the position or the location of objects in its field of view and measure the distance from them to its depth sensor in an accuracy way by checking whether that the detected object is real object or not to reduce processing time ignoring pixels which are not part of real object. Tests showed promising results with such low-cost range sensor, Kinect camera which can be used for object detection and distance measurement which are fundamental functions in computer vision applications for further processing.
Recently, there is increasing demand for image processing technology while activated the use of equipments such as camera, camcorder and CCTV. In particular, research and development related to 3D image technology using the depth camera such as Kinect sensor has been more activated. Kinect sensor is a high-performance camera that can acquire a 3D human skeleton structure via a RGB, skeleton and depth image in real-time frame-by-frame. In this paper, we develop a system. This system captures the motion of a 3D human skeleton structure using the Kinect sensor. And this system can be stored by selecting the motion file format as trc and bvh that is used for general purposes. The system also has a function that converts TRC motion captured format file into BVH format. Finally, this paper confirms visually through the motion capture data viewer that motion data captured using the Kinect sensor is captured correctly.

In this paper, a low-cost dynamic measurement system using the RGB-depth camera, Microsoft $Kinect^{(R)}$ v2, is proposed for measuring time-varying free surface motion of liquid dampers used in building vibration mitigation. Various experimental studies are conducted consecutively: performance evaluation and validation of the $Kinect^{(R)}$ v2, real-time monitoring using the $Kinect^{(R)}$ v2 SDK(software development kits), point cloud acquisition of liquid free surface in the 3D space, comparison with the existing video sensing technology. Utilizing the proposed $Kinect^{(R)}$ v2-based measurement system in this study, dynamic behavior of liquid in a laboratory-scaled small tank under a wide frequency range of input excitation is experimentally analyzed.
