Recently, the performance of smart devices is almost similar to that of the existing PCs, thus the users of smart devices can perform similar works such as messengers, SNSs(Social Network Services), smart banking, etc. originally performed in PC environment using smart devices. Although the development of smart devices has led to positive impacts, it has caused negative changes such as an increase in security threat aimed at mobile environment. Specifically, the threats of mobile devices, such as leaking private information, generating unfair billing and performing DDoS(Distributed Denial of Service) attacks has continuously increased. Over 80% of the mobile devices use android platform, thus, the number of damage caused by mobile malware in android platform is also increasing. In this paper, we propose android based malware detection mechanism using time-series analysis, which is one of statistical-based detection methods. We use auto-regressive moving-average model which is extracting accurate predictive values based on existing data among time-series model. We also use fast and exact malware detection method by extracting possible malware data through Z-Score. We validate the proposed methods through the experiment results.

In this paper, we will introduce the system that can control multiple vehicles on the road through Single Board Computers and V2I (Vehicle-To-Infrastructure). Also, we will propose the group evasive maneuver decision algorithm, which plays a critical role in deciding whether the vehicles in the system have to conduct evasive maneuvers to avoid obstacles on the road. In order to test this system, we have utilized Wi-Fi and TCP/IP for establishing the communication between multiple vehicles and the relay server, and observed their driving states on the road with obstacles. During the experiments, we have discovered that our original decision algorithm possesses high failure rate when there is frequency interference in ISM (Industrial Scientific Medical) band. In order to reduce this failure rate, we have implemented the data transition detector. This paper will focus on how the use of data transition detector can affect the reliability of the system under the frequency interference of ISM band. If this technology is improved and applied in the field, we will effectively deal with such dangerous situations as multiple collision accidents through vehicle-to-vehicle communication or vehicle-to-infrastructure communication. Furthermore, this can be applied to the autonomous driving technologies. This can be used as the reference data for the development of the similar system.

This paper proposes a time slot allocation scheme for military patrol environments. This proposal comes from analysis of traffic properties in a military patrol environment. In the near future, robots are expected to explore enemy grounds and measure threat, taking the place of human patrol. In order to control such robots, control messages must be extremely accurate. One mistake from the control center could cause a tragedy. Thus, high reliability must be guaranteed. Another goal is to maintain a continual flow of multimedia data sent from patrol robots. That is, QoS (Quality of Service) must be guaranteed. In order to transmit data while fulfilling both attributes, the per-path based centralized TDMA slot allocation scheme is recommended. The control center allocates slots to robots allowing synchronization among robots. Slot allocation collisions can also be avoided. The proposed scheme was verified through the ns-3 simulator. The scheme showed a higher packet delivery ratio than the algorithm in comparison. It also performed with shorter delay time in the downlink traffic transmission scenario than the algorithm in comparison.

Free-viewpoint video (FVV) is a synthesization technology that generates a virtual viewpoint video using multiple videos recorded via wireless devices at heterogeneous locations. In order to introduce a new service that grafts the FVV onto the real-time streaming service using wireless devices, we need to overcome several constraints. Two main factors of those constraints are the limited wireless capacity that are shared fairly by multiple devices, and the transmission time constraint with which live streaming services have to comply. Therefore, for optimal quality of entire videos, a set of transmitting devices should be effectively selected depending on the condition of wireless channel and the required video popularity of specific viewpoint requested from users. For optimal selection, this study proposes a heuristic algorithm that takes into account the aforementioned factors from possible wireless transmission error behaviors and the requested viewpoint popularity. Through analysis and simulation, we show that with this algorithm, quality of most popular viewpoint videos is guaranteed. Furthermore, performance comparison against the existing scheme which is based only on the location of recording devices is made.

The mount of network traffic from the Internet is increasing because of the use of Broadband Convergence Networks(BcN). Network traffic is also increasing because of the development of application, especially multimedia traffic from IPTV, VOD, and online games. This multimedia traffic not only has a huge payload but also should be considered a threat in real time. For this reason, this study examines the ways that routers distribute the bandwidth in accordance to traffic properties. To classify the property of the traffic, it is essential to analyze the application layer. However, the general network processor architecture serially processes the L2-4 and L7 layer. We propose a novel parallel network processor architecture with a global cache that processes L2-4 and L7 in parallel. To verify the proposed architecture, we simulated both of the architecture with SystemC. EEMBC and SNORT was used to measure L2-4 and L7 processing time. When multimedia traffic was entered into the network processor in the same flow, the proposed architecture showed about 85% higher performance than general architecture.

The low-power, low-cost femtocell network has been proposed not only to alleviate traffic load to the macro base station (eNB) but also to cover the indoor coverage hole problem. However, in the dense femtocell environment where many femtocells are deployed to cover the whole large office building, performance of such femtocell environment can be deteriorated due to severe co-channel interference problem between the eNB and femtocells and among neighboring femtocells. In particular, a macro UE(mUE) located within femtocell coverage may experience severe co-channel interference from surrounding femtocells. Therefore, In this paper, we propose a novel power control schemes to mitigate interference to a mUE under such dense LTE femtocell environment. With proposed femtocell power control schemes, performance of the mUE can be greatly improved in terms of the outage probability and the SINR while maintaining satisfying femtocell performance. Simulation based performance study shows that the proposed power control scheme is able to enhance mUE performance more than 30% than the conventional dense femtocell in terms of the two performance metrics.

Wireless Sensor Networks(WSNs) are used in diverse applications. In general, sensor nodes that are easily deployed on specific areas have many resource constrains such as battery power, memory sizes, MCUs, RFs and so on. Hence, first of all, the efficient energy consumption is strongly required in WSNs. In terms of event states, event-driven deliverly model (i.e. surveillance and reconnaissance applications) has several characteristics. On the basis of such a model, clustering algorithms can be mostly used to manage sensor nodes' energy efficiently owing to the advantages of data aggregations. Since a specific node collects packets from its child nodes in a network topology and aggregates them into one packet to relay them once, amount of transmitted packets to a sink node can be reduced. However, most clustering algorithms have been designed without considering can be reduced. However, most clustering algorithms have been designed without considering characteristics of event-driven deliverly model, which results in some problems. In this paper, we propose enhanced clustering algorithms regarding with both targets' movement and energy efficiency in order for applications of surveillance and reconnaissance. These algorithms form some clusters to contend locally between nodes, which have already detected certain targets, by using a method which called CHEW (Cluster Head Election Window). Therefore, our proposed algorithms enable to reduce not only the cost of cluster maintenance, but also energy consumption. In conclusion, we analyze traces of the clusters' movements according to targets' locations, evaluate the traces' results and we compare our algorithms with others through simulations. Finally, we verify our algorithms use power energy efficiently.

In this paper, an efficient power control based MF-TDMA resource allocation scheme is proposed for next generation military satellite communication systems. The proposed scheme has the flexibility is used to support heterogeneous terminals with differ in transmission capabilities. The method can be divided into two parts : burst size calculation and burst structure determination. At first, we estimate the link budget taken into account a dynamic satellite link state variation. Then, applicable ACM level and burst size is chosen. In burst structure determination phase, we reorganize the burst structure in time-frequency domain by controlling limited power, bandwidth, time resources. In particular, we compensate the power spectral density among different terminals to integrate them in same transponder, Furthermore, we increase the packing efficiency by controlling the ACM level of the burst in applicable power spectral density range. Simulation results show that the method increase the spectral efficiency and burst packing efficiency. In addition, slot allocation rejection ratio is successfully reduced.

Device-to-device (D2D) communication is expected to offer local area services with low transmit power and short link distance, even not via any infrastructures. These advantages will lead to the deployment of D2D systems in a massive scale, where the order of magnitude of D2D user density is higher than that of cellular user density. Network-assisted D2D systems, where D2D resources are managed by cellular networks, are unable to support the large number of D2D devices, due to the signaling overhead for control signals. In this case, no coordination can be an answer. This paper considers uncoordinated D2D systems, which is implemented with a number of D2D devices in a large scale. By analyzing the transmission capacity of D2D systems, we found a feasibility condition under which the uncoordinated D2D communications possibly coexist within cellular networks, sharing the uplink spectrum. In addition, we provide guidelines for the operational points of massive D2D communications, giving some knowledge about proper transmit power level and link distance of uncoordinated D2D.

With the deployment of broadband networking technology, many clients are enabled to receive various Video on Demand (VoD) services. To support many clients, the network should be designed by considering the following factors: viewer's waiting time, buffer requirement at each client, number of channel required for video delivery, and video segmentation complexity. Among the currently available VoD service approaches, the Polyharmonic and Staircase broadcasting approaches show best performance with respect to each viewer's waiting time and buffer requirement, respectively. However, these approaches have the problem of dividing a video into too many segments, which causes very many channels to be managed and used at a time. To overcome this problem, we propose Polyharmonic-Staircase-Staggered (PSS) broadcasting approach that uses the Polyharmonic and Staircase approaches for the head part transmission and the Staggered approach for the tail part transmission. It is simple and bandwidth efficient. The numerical results demonstrate that our approach shows viewer's waiting time is comparable to that in the Harmonic approach with a slight increase in the bandwidth requirement, and saves the buffer requirement by about 60\% compared to the Harmonic broadcasting approach by simply adjusting the video partitioning coefficient factor. More importantly, our approach shows the best performance in terms of the number of segments and the number of channels managed and used simultaneously, which is a critical factor in real operation of VoD services. Lastly, we present how to configure the system adaptively according to the video partitioning coefficient.
