교량도로 배수받이 퇴적물질의 입경별 오염물질 함량 (Pollutant Contents with Particle Size Distribution in Bridge Road Drainage Sediment)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 교량도로를 대상으로 배수받이에 퇴적된 퇴적물질을 대상으로 입경별로 유기물질 및 중금속 함량을 조사, 분석함으로서 강우 시 도로 퇴적물에 의한 비점오염부하의 기초 자료를 제공하고자 한다. 연구를 위한 퇴적물질 채취지점은 지방도로, 고속도로, 고가도로 상의 교량도로를 대표하는 지점 4개 지점을 선정하였다. 퇴적물질은 일정 입경범위로 범위(>2,000 ${\mu}m$, $1,000\sim2,000{\mu}m$, $850\sim1,000{\mu}m$, $425\sim850{\mu}m$, $212\sim425{\mu}m$, $125\sim212{\mu}m$, $90\sim125{\mu}m$, $75\sim90{\mu}m$, <75 ${\mu}m$)로 체분리 하였으며, 입경별로 용출 후 COD, T-N, T-P 등 일반 유기오염물질과 Fe, Cu, Cr, Pb 등의 중금속 농도를 분석하였다. 입경분포별 누적중량을 분석한 결과 $125\sim425{\mu}m$ 입경범위가 가장 많이 분포하는 것으로 조사되었으며, $<75{\mu}m$ 입경은 상대적으로 낮은 것으로 조사되었다. 조사지점 별 평균 오염물질 함량 범위는 COD $177\sim198.8$ g/kg(평균 77.6 g/kg), T-N $23\sim200$ mg/kg(평균 83 mg/kg), T-P $18\sim215$ mg/kg(평균 129 mg/kg)이었다. 중금속의 경우 Fe $1,508\sim5,612$ mg/kg(평균 3835 mg/kg), Cu $9.2\sim69.3$ mg/kg(평균 49 mg/kg), Cr $19.1\sim662.2$ mg/kg(평균 214 mg/kg), Pb $28.4\sim251.4$ mg/kg(평균 114 mg/kg)를 나타내었다. 입경별로는 오염물질 함량이 입경에 반비례하는 경향을 나타내었는데, 대체로 $75{\mu}m$ 이하의 입자가 오염물질 농도 함량이 가장 높았다. 연구 조사와 같이 교량도로 배수받이의 퇴적물질은 상당량의 미세입자 및 중금속이 다량 함유되어 있으므로 건기 시 주기적으로 퇴적물질을 제거를 통해서도 강우 시 비점오염부하를 상당량 저감시킬 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

EFFECT OF MOLASSES SUPPLEMENTATION OF A ROUGHAGE BASED DIET ON GROWTH PERFORMANCES OF CATTLE

  • Two feeding trials were conducted to determine the effect of molasses feeding on the growth performances of bulls. In the first experiment, the straw of a control diet of straw and urea was replaced by molasses of 150 g ($M_{150}$) or $300g{\cdot}kg^{-1}$ ($M_{300}$). The three diets were fed ad libitum to three groups of bulls having five in each and the dietary responses were statistically analyzed in a simple design. The bulls were given fishmeal ($30g{\cdot}hd^{-1}{\cdot}d^{-1}$), wheat bran (0.5% of Liveweight, LW) and allowed grazing for $5hrs{\cdot}d^{-1}$. Molasses supplementation significantly (p < 0.001) increased the dry matter intake (DMI) of the bulls of $M_{150}$ (35.8g) and of $M_{300}$ (42.9g) than the control ($30.4g{\cdot}kg^{-0.75}$). The daily LW gain of the bulls of the $M_{150}$ (982g) was significantly (p < 0.05) higher than the bulls of the control or of the $M_{300}$ diet. In the second experiment, a control group of four bulls was fed a straw diet. Treatment two groups, having four bulls in each, were fed a mixed diet of Leucaena leucocephala and Setaria splendida(1:1, DM basis) with (LSM) and without (LS) molasses at $100g{\cdot}kg^{-1}$. The dietary responses were statistically analyzed in a simple design. The bulls of the LSM diet had significantly (p < 0.05) higher DMI, DM digestibility and LW gain ($128g{\cdot}kg^{-0.75}$, $663g{\cdot}kg^{-1}$ and $419g{\cdot}d^{-1}$, respectively) than the bulls of the LS diet ($98.3g{\cdot}kg^{-0.75}$, $583g{\cdot}kg^{-1}$ and $292g{\cdot}d^{-1}$, respectively). But the differences between the LSM and the control were nonsignificant. It may be concluded that molasses may be utilized as supplement to straw at $150g{\cdot}kg^{-1}$ or forages at $100g{\cdot}kg^{-1}$ diet for the profitable beef production from young growing bulls.

항염 및 해열효과에 미치는 Ibuprofen과 Prednisolone의 약 상호 작용 (Drug Interactions of Ibuprofen and Prednisolone in Antiinflammatory and Antipyretic Effects)

  • The authors investigated drug interaction of ibuprofen and prednisolone in antiinflammatory and antipyretic activities. We have found significant differences of the antiinflammatory and antipyretic activities between single and concurrent administration of ibuprofen and prednisolone, using Sprague-Dawley Strain rats, carrageenin as a phlogistic agent and brewer's yeast as a fever inducing agent. 1) Ibuprofen(20mg/kg) was administered to the rats orally and resulted in significant reduction of (31.70 %) the swelling of rat paw induced by carrageenin, 2) prednisolone (9mg/kg) showed significant reduction of (45.76%) the swelling, 3) concurrent administration of ibuprofen (20mg/kg) and prednisolone (9mg/kg) also reduced (57.40%) the swelling. In ibuprofen (125mg/kg) administration, the inhibition rate of edema was 39.32% and in prednisolone (1mg/kg) administration, the rate was 39.04%. In concurrent administration of ibuprofen (125mg/kg) and prednisolone (1mg/kg), the inhibition rate of edema was 63.09%. Concurrent administration of ibuprofen and prednisolone showed more anti-inflammatory effects than single administration of ibuprofen and prednisolone respectively. Prednisolone itself did not show antipyretic effect, but concurrent administration of ibuprofen and prednisolone showed more antipyretic effects than ibuprofen single administratron.

쑥사료 급여가 비육한우의 비육능력 및 도체특성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Feeding Dietary Mugwort Powder on the Fattening Performance and Carcass Characteristics in the Fattening Hanwoo)

  • 본 연구는 비육한우 32두(거세우 16두, 암소 16두)를 대상으로 (C-1구 거세우의 일반사료 : C-2구 암소의 일반사료 : T-1구 거세우에게 야생쑥 2%첨가 : T-2구 암소에게 쑥 2%첨가) 4개 처리구를 두고 14개월간(생후14개월-27개월) 비육시험한 결과는 다음과 같다. 27개월 시험종료 체중에서 대조구인 C-1구, C-2구는 각각 648.6, 623.1kg이었고, 처리구인 T-1구, T-2구는 각각 663.3 kg 및 620.7 kg으로서 T-1구가 가장 높았고, 총 증체량과 일당증체량에서도 T-1구가 각각 342.4 kg과 0.88 kg으로 가장 높았다. 1일 두당 총 사료섭취량은 대조구인 C-1구 및 C-2구와 처리구인 T-1구 및 T-2구가 각각 9.35, 9.09, 10.08 및 9.69 kg으로 T-1구가 가장 높았고, 사료요구율에서는 C-1구(11.28) > T-1구(11.48) > C-2구(11.52) > T-2(12.57)순으로 낮았다. 혈중 총콜레스테롤, GOT, GPT, 글리코스 및 BUN은 대체로 시험개시전보다 시험개시후가 더 높은 경향이었고, 특히 시험개시후의 총 콜레스테롤, GOT 및 glucose 함량은 처리구가 대조구보다 낮았다 (p<0.05). 도체중은 처리구(344.11-378.08 kg)가 대조구(342.71-369.70 kg)보다 높은 경향이었고, 등지방두께는 처리구(12.75-14.75 mm)가 대조구(15.76-16.00 mm) 보다 얇아진 반면에 배최장근 단면적은 처리구$(84.25-87.88cm^2)$가 대조구$(84.00-85.25cm^2)$보다 넓어졌다. 그 중에서 T-1구가 각각 14.75 mm와 $87.88cm^2$로 가장 좋았으며, 육량 및 육질등급은 처리구(각각, 2.02-2.50점, 2.85-3.05점)가 대조구(각각, 1.80점, 2.80-2.55점)보다 높았다. 본 시험의 결과를 종합해 볼 때 거세한우에게 쑥첨가는 일당증체량 증가, 도체중, 배최장근 단면적 및 육질개선 효과가 있는 것으로 판단된다.

Reliability of Thickness Measurements of the Abductor Hallucis Muscle Using the Spring Gauge Technique in Hallux Valgus Subjects: An Ultrasonographic Study

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the intra- and inter-rater reliability of muscle thickness (MT) measurements of the abductor hallucis (AbdH) in subjects with hallux valgus (HV), using ultrasonography performed at different inward pressures of approximately 0.5 kg, 1.0 kg, 1.5 kg, and 2.0 kg, with no pressure control. Methods: Thirty-two subjects with HV were recruited. The thicknesses of both sides of the AbdH were measured randomly by two different examiners for assessment of the intra- and inter-rater reliability. The measurement values were analyzed using the intra-class correlation coefficient (ICC) with a 95% confidence interval (CI). ICC (2,1) was used to determine the inter-rater reliability of MT measurements of the AbdH, while ICC (3,1) was used to assess the intra-rater reliability. Results: The results showed higher ICC values for intra-rater reliability compared to inter-rater reliability, and the value for inter-rater reliability with no pressure control (ICC=0.74 [95%CI=0.53-0.87]) was smaller compared to pressures of 0.5 kg, 1.0 kg, 1.5 kg, and 2.0 kg. Other inward pressures for intra- and inter-rater reliability also showed excellent values (ICC=0.86-0.96). Conclusion: The findings showed that maintaining consistent inward pressure is essential for reliable results in measurement of the MT of the AbdH by different examiners in a clinical setting.

육계 전기 사료에 엽산과 콜린의 첨가 수준이 육계의 생산성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Dietary Supplemental Folic Acid and Choline on the Performance of Starting Broiler Chicks)

  • Five experiments were conducted to evaluate the effect of dietary supplemental folic acid(FA) in starting broiler chicks. In the first two experiments, basal diets based on corn and soybean meal contained 0.6 mg/kg FA but no supplemental methionine or choline. At 18 d of age, chicks showed curvilinear responses to folic acid supplementation with maximum growth and feed efficiencies at 1.45 mg/kg FA diet. The liver FA response was also curvilinear but reached a plateau at 1.70 mg/kg FA diet. The basal diet for 3 additional experiments contained soybean meal that had been washed with methanol to remove most of the choline. The diet contained only 0.6 mg /kg folic acid and 754 mg /kg choline. Chicks exhibited a larger growth response to folic acid at low choline levels as evidenced by a significant FA x choline interaction. FA supplementation increased but then decreased valgus leg deformity. Choline supplementation also decreased the incidences of valgus and varus leg deformities and decreased bone ash and increased the incidence of tibial dyschondroplasia. It is concluded that chicks fed diets based on practical ingredients require from 1.45 to 1.70 mg /kg FA diet and also 1.60 mg/kg FA when choline is offered near the NRC recommended level of 1,300 mg/kg.

Fertilization Effects on Fine Root Biomass, Production, and Turnover Rate in a Pinus rigida Plantation

  • We examined the effects of fertilization [control (C), 200 kg N ha^{-1} + 25 kg P ha^{-1}$ (LNP), and 400 kg N $ha^{-1} + 50 kg P ha^{-1}$ (HNP)] on fine root (< 2 mm diameter) dynamics using monthly soil coring method in a 39-year-old Pinus rigida plantation of central Korea. The average fine root biomass (live + dead) (kg $ha^{-1}$ $\pm$ SE) during the first growing season for C, LNP, and HNP was 1301 $\pm$ 54, 1084 $\pm$ 47, and 1328 $\pm$ 22, respectively. The fine root production (kg $ha^{-1}$ $\pm$ SE) was 2394 $\pm$ 128 for C, 2048 $\pm$ 101 for LNP, and 2768 $\pm$ 150 for HNP, respectively. Over the same period, fertilization treatments had impact on N and P concentrations of live fine root. Nitrogen and P inputs (kg $ha^{-1}$ $yr^{-1}$) into the soil through fine root turnover for C, LNP, and HNP were 16.6 and 0.9, 17.2 and 0.9, and 24.1 and 1.6, respectively. There were no significant differences in fine root biomass and production during the first growing season after fertilization. However, fertilization increased fine root N and P concentrations, and in consequence resulted in increased N and P inputs into soil through fine root turnover.

The Effect of Petasites japonicus Extract on Hepatotoxicity in Rats

  • Petasites japonicus (Compositae) is a perennial herb which has been used as treatment of antitussive, expectorant, sedatives, paralysis, diurectics in folk remedies. The pharmacological studies of this natural drug have not yet estabilished. So, we examined anti-lipid peroxidative effects and liver protective effect on $CCl_4$ induced lipid peroxidation and hepatotoxicity in rats. In vivo liver lipid, MeOH Ex. revealed significant increase of anti-lipid peroxidative effects according to concentration dependently. In chemical parameters obtained from serum analysis, MeOH Ex. as a increase of medicine concentration (0.25 g/kg, 0.5 g/kg, 1.0 g/kg), GOT, GPT, AlP decreased. In 0.5 g/kg GPT administered group, there was relative in GOT, AlP. Cholesterol decreased in 1.0 g/kg and 1.0 g/kg administered group, BUN decreased relatively in 1.0 g/kg administered group.

생산단계 잔류허용 기준 설정을 위한 시설 재배 오이 중 살균제 Amisulbrom의 잔류특성 연구 (Dissipation Pattern of Amisulbrom in Cucumber under Greenhouse Condition for Establishing Pre-harvest Residue Limit)

  • 실내 재배 오이 중 살균제 amisulbrom의 생물학적 반감기 및 생산단계 잔류허용기준을 제안하고자 약제를 살포하고 재배기간 동안 잔류량을 확인하였다. Amisulbrom 1회 살포시 초기 잔류 농도는 $0.15mg\;kg^{-1}$이었으며 살포 5일 후 $0.06mg\;kg^{-1}$으로 감소되어 반감기는 3.6일이었다. 3일 간격으로 기준량 2회 살포시 초기 잔류량은 $0.35mg\;kg^{-1}$이었으며 살포 5일 후 $0.09mg\;kg^{-1}$으로 감소되어 반감기는 2.4일 이었다. 1회 처리 시의 잔류감소 회귀식을 이용한 생산단계 잔류허용 기준(PHRL)은 수확 5일 전 $1.83mg\;kg^{-1}$ 또는 2일 전 $1.03mg\;kg^{-1}$ 등으로 제안하였다. Amisulbrom 액상 수화제를 안전사용 기준에 따라 1회 살포, 또는 3일 간격 2회 살포 시 모두 살포 직후 잔류량은 오이 중 농약잔류 허용기준 보다 낮았다.

급속액상부숙기술(TAO system)을 이용한 가축분뇨 슬러리의 질소.인 저감기술 (Reducing Technique for Nitrogen and Phosphorus in Piggery Slurry by the Thermophilic Aerobic Oxidation(TAO) System)

  • 돈분뇨에 함유된 질소.인의 부하저감과 액비살포면적 감소에 대하여 급속액상부숙기술 반응기(TAO system)과 28mesh, 200mesh의 막을 가진 고액분리기를 적용하여 연구한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 농가에서 발생하는 분뇨 $4.6m^3/day$에 함유된 질소와 인의 양은 22.5kg.N/day($4,893mg/{\ell}$), 7.32kg.P/day($1,592mg/{\ell}$)이었따. 2. 감량화 단계에서는 질소와 인이 각각 12.6kg.N/day($4,862mg/{\ell}$), 3.85kg.P/day$(1,397mg/{\ell}$)로 46.0%, 34.0% 감소하였다. 3. 고액분리단계에서는 질소와 인이 각각 12.0kg. N/day($5,000mg/{\ell}$), 2.2kg.P/day($929mg/{\ell}$)로 일일 발생량이 46.6%, 69.8% 감소하였다. 4. 질소시비량을 기준으로 처리 전.후의 액비 살포면적은 논의 경우, 74.7ha/y에서 39.0ha/y, 밭의 경우, 63.2ha/y에서 33.0ha/y로 감소하였다.
