개의 건성 각결막염과 수술적 처치 (Keratoconjunctivitis Sicca (KCS) and Its Surgical Therapy in a Dog)

  • 건성 각결막염(KCS)은 임상에서 많이 접하게 되는 개의 안과 질환이다. 눈물샘으로부터 수성층의 눈물생산이 억제되거나 정지되어 각막 표면 눈물층의 양적변화와 함께 KCS가 유도된다. 본 연구는 KCS로 잠정진단을 받아, 본 대학병원에 의뢰된 개를 대상으로 조직 병리학적 변화를 검사하고, KCS의 진단 및 내과적 치료 방법들을 검토하였으며, 내과적 치료에 반응하지 않은 예를 외과적 처치인 parotid duct transposition(PDT)으로 치료하는 방법을 서술하고자 한다.

Comparison of body image perception, nutrition knowledge, dietary attitudes, and dietary habits between Korean and Mongolian college students

  • BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: College students are in transition from adolescence to adulthood, and it has been reported that they show poor dietary habits. This study was conducted to compare body image perception, nutrition knowledge, dietary attitudes, dietary habits, and health-related lifestyles between Korean college students (KCS) and Mongolian college students (MCS). SUBJECTS/METHODS: Subjects were 314 KCS and 280 MCS. The data includes results of self-administered questionnaires; statistical analysis was performed using the SPSS 23.0 program. RESULTS: With regards to body image perception, KCS perceived themselves to be fatter on current body image than ideal body image compared to MCS; 64.0% of KCS and 34.6% of MCS desired to be thinner. Total score of nutrition knowledge in KCS (17.0) was significantly higher compared to MCS (8.4) (P < 0.001), but total score of dietary attitudes in KCS (27.0) was significantly lower compared to MCS (31.2) (P < 0.001). Nutrition knowledge had a significantly positive correlation with dietary attitudes in MCS (P < 0.01). Meal consumption among male and female subjects was 2 and 3 times, respectively, in order in KCS, and 3 and 2 times, respectively, in order in MCS (P < 0.001). Rate of skipping breakfast in both genders was significantly higher in KCS than in MCS (male: P < 0.05, female: P < 0.001). In health-related lifestyles, KCS had a significantly higher rate in frequency of alcohol drinking (P < 0.001), exercise (P < 0.01), and mobile phone usage (P < 0.001), compared to MCS. CONCLUSIONS: This study suggests that development of nutrition education program which is effective and proper is required to improve healthy dietary habits among college students of both countries. Essential contents should include acquirement of nutrition knowledge and a motivation for its application to actual life for KCS, and improvement of healthy dietary habits for MCS.

신호교차로의 출발녹색시간 변화에 따른 직진교통류의 지체 및 지체민감도 분식 (A Delay and Sensitivity of Delay Analysis for Varying Start of Green Time at Signalized Intersections: Focused on through traffic)

  • 신호교차로의 교통류 해석을 위해 널리 사용되는 선형모형(Vertical queueing model)은 자유속도에 따라 모든 차량이 정지선에 도착하고, 대기행렬은 정지선에서 수직으로 형성된다고 가정한다. 이러한 모형자체의 단순성 때문에 선두차량은 자유속도와 가속도에 의해 계산된 출발유효녹색시간(start of effective green time)에 정지선을 통과하게 되며, 모든 추종차량은 동일한 궤적을 갖게 된다고 가정한다. 본 연구의 목적은 Vertical queueing 모형의 단순성과 비현실성을 보완하기 위해 물리학의 Kinematic수식을 응용하여 신호교차로의 출발녹색시간(start of green time)을 함수로 한 자동차추종모형(Kinematic Car-following model at Signalized intersections: KCS traffic model)을 개발하고, 이에 따른 지체 및 지체민감도를 비교함에 있다. 출발녹색시간 변화에 따른 지체분석결과 Vertical queueing 모형에서 산출된 지체값이 KCS 교통류모형에 비해 과다하게 추정됨을 알 수 있었다. 반면, 지체민감도 분석 결과 KCS 교통류모형이 Vertical queueing 모형에 비해 민감하게 변함을 알 수 있었다.

Ways to Incorporate Key Competencies in the Science Curriculum

  • This study explored ways to implement a competencies-based curriculum in schools by reviewing exemplary cases that have introduced Key Competencies (KCs) in the school science curriculum. Since the OECD redefined key competencies as 'what people should know and do in order to lead a successful life in a well-functioning society', many countries have emphasized the use of a competencies-based curriculum. Foreign and domestic classroom cases, which have used a competencies-based curriculum in science teaching, were collected and analyzed. Through open-ended interviews with teachers and principals, we investigated changes of teachers' professional knowledge and practice that were evident as a result of the implementation of competencies-based curriculum in science class. Foreign science teachers suggested ways to relate competencies-based curriculum and science curriculum including maintaining a balance between competencies-based curriculum and content-based curriculum. They also integrated KCs into all subject-based curriculums, gave priority to KCs over subject matter knowledge, and developed KCs through teaching science contents that students wanted to learn. On the other hand, Korean science teachers suggested reconstructing competencies-based curriculum by extracting common attributes from the existing subject areas. They also made KCs realized through content teaching, and developed various KCs within science contexts. Implications of the competencies-based curriculum for science teaching and learning were discussed at the end.

KCS 선형의 4자유도 조종성능 추정 (Prediction of Maneuverability of KCS with 4 Degrees of Freedom)

  • This paper presents the results of prediction of maneuverability of KCS about 4 degree of freedom(DOF) including roll motion. The prediction is carried out by CPMC captive model test. The CPMC(Computerized Planar Motion Carriage) with captive model test equipment including roll moment gage is installed at Ocean Engineering Tank of MOERI. KCS is the container ship open to the world by MOERI. To predict the 4 DOF maneuverability of a ship some tests with roll angle are conducted. And the prediction results of maneuverability by simulation are compared with the results of free running model test. The simulation results agree well with those of free running model tests.

GM 및 종경사 변경에 따른 선박의 조종성능변화에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Manoeuvrability of a Ship in Different GM and Trim Conditions)

  • The aim of this study was to investigate the manoeuvrability of a ship in different Center of Gravity (CG) conditions. Free Running Model Tests (FRMT), such as 35°turning circle tests, 20/20 zigzag manoeuvring tests, and 10/10 zigzag manoeuvring tests, were conducted in three GM and three trim conditions with 1/65.83 scaled KRISO Container Ship (KCS). The test results indicated that KCS in the lower GM condition and the trim by bow condition showed reduced advance and tactical diameter in turning circle tests and increased overshoot angles in zigzag tests, and those manoeuvring indices were strongly related with roll angle. In addition, sensitivity indices for three-axis CG position were suggested with prior research, and it showed that y-axis CG position significantly affected manoeuvrability of KCS due to the low GM. Therefore, in the case of KCS, it is evident that the roll angle during manoeuvre is closely related with manoeuvring indices.

CPMC 구속모형시험에 의한 KCS 선형의 조종성능 추정 (Prediction of Maneuverability of KCS by CPMC Captive Model Test)

  • This paper presents the results of prediction of maneuverability of KCS by CPMC captive model test. The CPMC(Computerized Planar Motion Carriage) with captive model test equipment is installed at Ocean Engineering Tank of MOERI. KCS is the container ship which was open to the world by MOERI. And the test results for the prediction of maneuverability were presented by NMRI in Japan. The research results about the maneuverability of KCS were presented at SIMMAN 2008 Workshop in Denmark. The results of test and simulation of this paper are compared with the results of simulation by MOERI using test results of NMRI and simulation results by NMRI.

과학과 교육과정 개정에 대비한 핵심역량 재구조화 방안 (Ways of Restructuring Key Competencies for a Revision of Science Curriculum)

  • 본 연구는 향후 과학과 교육과정 개정에서 다루어야 할 핵심역량들을 재구조화하는 방안을 탐색하는 것이다. 최근 세계 각국에서 미래 사회의 변화된 상황에 맞추어 학교 교육의 방향을 근본적으로 재조정하려는 노력이 진행되고 있다. 그리고 이러한 교육 개혁의 핵심 키워드로 등장하게 된 것이 핵심역량이다. 본 연구에서는 향후 핵심역량 중심의 과학과 교육과정 재구조화를 위한 선결 요건으로 선행연구에서 다양하게 논의되어온 핵심역량 대범주를 재구조화하고 국가수준의 교육과정에서 제시됨직한 각 영역별 핵심역량 구성요소를 논의하였다. 문헌분석, 전문가 심층면담, 델파이 및 설문조사 등을 통해 핵심역량 대범주 3가지를 (1) 인성 역량, (2) 지적 역량, (3) 사회적 역량으로 구성하고, 각 핵심역량 대범주별로 의미와 특징을 제시하였다. 각 대범주별로 어떤 핵심역량을 선정하고 가르칠 것인지는 교과 및 교사수준에서 전문성을 발휘하여 결정하도록 맡겨둘 필요가 있다. 본 연구의 결론 부분에서는 본 연구에서 논의한 핵심역량 대범주들을 중심으로 향후 과학과 교육과정을 재구성할 때 주목할 점을 제안하였다. 향후 과학과 교육과정을 개발할 때는 인성 역량을 포함하여 핵심역량의 3개 대범주들을 적극적으로 포함시켜야 하며, 핵심역량을 모든 학생들이 도달해야 할 최소 수준의 목표로 설정해야 할 것이다. 또한 과학 주제와 목표 등에 따라 각 대범주별 핵심역량 구성요소와 구성요소들 간의 연계방식이 달라질 수 있음을 기억해야 할 것이다.

단파장 영역에서 운항 자세가 KCS의 선체 저항에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Trim Conditions on Ship Resistance of KCS in Short Waves)

  • Numerical simulations of turbulent two phase flows around KCS have been performed to investigate effects of trim conditions on ship resistance of KCS in short waves by utilizing waves2foam. The wave lengths of LPP/2 and LPP/4 with 1m and 2m wave heights were imposed at inlet boundary. The resistance reduction at 2m trim by head and the increase of resistance at trims by stern were observed regardless of wave lengths and wave heights. The hull pressure on fore-and-aft rather than wave patterns around bulbous bows was mainly responsible for the total resistance coefficients of KCS in short waves. A phase diagram of contribution of hull pressure to the total resistance coefficients disclosed that the phase of representing the maximum resistance in time history played an important role in the effect of trim conditions on ship resistance of KCS in short waves.
