  • In this study, development tests varying with concrete strength, development length, and the rate of fiber mix ratio are carried out to evaluate the development characteristics of high-strength concrete member with 80MPa, and the applicability of estimated standards of development length in KCI 2007. As a result, it can be expected that minimum development length of KCI 2007 is applicable to high-strength concrete member with 80MPa. Although the mixed fiber(NY+PP) to secure fire resistance performance of high-strength concrete is included up to 0.1%, it does not affect the development characteristics.

  • Administration of ginsenosides, a mixture of saponin extracted from Panax ginseng, decreased blood pressure in rat. Previous studies have shown that ginsenosides caused endothelium-dependent relaxation, which was associated with the formation of cyclic GMP, suggested that ginsenosides caused release of nitric oxide (NO) from the vascular endothelium. The aim of the present study was to characterize the endothelium-independent relaxation to ginsenosides in the isolated rat aorta. Ginsenosides caused a concentration-dependent relaxation of rat aortic rings without endothelium constricted with 25 mM KCI but affected only minimally those constricted with 60 mM KCI. Ginsenoside Rg3 (Rg3) was a more potent vasorelaxing agonist than total ginsenoside mixture and also the ginsenoside PPT and PPD groups. Relaxation to ginsenosides were markedly reduced by TEA, but not by glibenclamide. Rg3 significantly inhibited Cal'-induced concentration-contraction curves and the "50a2'influx in aortic rings incubated in 25 mM KCI whereas those responses were not affected in 60 mM KCI. Rg3 caused efflux of $"Rb in aortic rings that was inhibited by tetraethy- lammonium (TEA), an inhibitor of Ca"-dependent K'channels, but not by glibenclamide, an inhibitor of AfP-dependent K'channels. These findings indicate that ginsenosides may induce vasorelaxation via activation of Ca2'-dependent K'channels resulting in hyperpolarization of the vas- cular smooth muscle with subsequent inhibition of the opening of voltage-dependent Caf'channels. These effects could contribute to explain the red ginseng-associated vasodilation and the beneficial effect on the cardiovascular system.

  • For a practical simplicity in designing of reinforced concrete structures, the indirect crack controlling method of limiting bar spacing is adopted in KCI structural design provisions. In addition, a direct method for evaluating crack width is also provided in the appendix of the code. But there may be some mismatched results between these two crack controlling methods. In this study, limit values of maximum bar spacing calculated from KCI provisions, KCI appendix, and Frosch's equation are examined as concrete strength, cross-section height, and concrete cover are varied, and the differences are analyzed. From the results, it becomes clear that the differences between maximum bar spacing calculated from KCI code text provisions and those from KCI code appendix provisions are too significant to be neglected. Therefore, rational crack models are suggested in order to get rid of the discrepancy between the direct and indirect control methods.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyse the semantic relations of terms in STNet, a structured terminology dictionary based on author keywords of humanities, social sciences, and art and sport in the Korea Citation Index (KCI) and to describe the procedure for optimizing the relation types and specifying the name of relationships. The results indicate that four logical criteria, such as creating new names for relationships or limitation of typing the relationship by the appearance frequency of same type, consideration of direction of relationship, reflection to accept the existing name of relationships, are required for the optimization of the typing and naming the relationships. We applied these criteria to the relationships in the class "real person" of STNet and the result shows that 1,135 out of 1,743 uncertain relationships such as RT, RT_X or RT_Y are specified and clarified. This rate of optimization with ca. 65% represents the usefulness of the criteria applicable to the cases of database construction and retrieval.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyse the meaning and lexical morpheme of author keywords of humanities, social sciences, and art and sport in the Korea Ciation Index (KCI) and to propose a conceptual taxonomy of the author keywords. Four top-level concept categories such as 'Substance, Abstraction, General/Common, and Object' are replaced by seven more concrete categories such as 'object, action/function, property, theory/method, format/framework, general/common, and Instance'. In the middle and lower-level concept categories, the hierarchical structure is simplified and the unbalance of term distribution is reduced by creating, subdivision, integration, elimination, and movement of the categories. The result of the test based on the STNet shows that the replaced taxonomy of concept categories has the effects of making the term allocation more balanced and properties of terms more detailed.

  • In tension lap splices of straight deformed bars, KCI Code (KCI2012) and ACI Code (ACI318-11) requires that the lap lengths for class B splice are 1.3 times as development length. KCI2012 contains development length provisions for the use of headed deformed bars in tension and does not allow their tension lap splices. The purpose of this experimental study is to evaluate that KCI2012 equation for the development length, $l_{dt}$, of headed bars can be used to calculate the lap length, $l_s$, of headed deformed bars in grade SD400 and SD500, having specified yield strength of 400 and 500 MPa. Test results showed that specimens with $l_s$ equal to $1.3l_{dt}$ had maximum flexural strengths as 1.16~1.31 times as the nominal flexural strengths, flexural failure mode, and ductility. These observations indicate that $1.3l_{dt}$ is suitable to the tensile lap length of headed deformed bars in grade SD400 and SD500.

  • Nitrate in edible vegetables is converted to nitrite by nitrate reductase(NR) and/or bacteria in intestines. Nitrite and amino, in the intestine of some animals and human, bind to form nitrosamine, which is toxic and known as carcinogen. This study was carried out to examine the effect of added chlorides and their concentrations on growth, yield and nitrate content in leaf lettuce plants in hydroponics. Seeds of lettuce cv, "Samsunjokchukmyon" were planted on April 29, and seedlings were planted on June 2, and were cultured until July 5 in 1998. KCI and CaCl₂ were used as chloride source and their concentrations were 1, 2 and 4 me/L, respectively, in the lettuce standard nutrient solution for National Horticultural Research Institute(NHRI). Completely randomized design with 3 replications was used. Nitrate content and NR activity were measured 2 and 5 weeks after planting(WAP). The obtained results were summarized as the follows : Leaf weight per plant was difference from harvest dates and treatments, but total leaf weight was not significantly different among treatments. Number of leaves was higher in KCI 2 me/L, CaCl₂1 me/L and control at 2 WAP than the others, and was higher in KCI 1 me/L, and control at 3 WAP than others, and was higher in control at 5 WAP. Total number of harvested leaves was the highest in control with 14, which followed by KCI 2 me/L and CaCl₂1 me/L. Nitrate content was decreased by addition of chloride in nutrient solution. Nitrate content in the 3rd and 9th leaves was significantly decreased. NR activity was higher in control and CaCl₂ addition treatments, while KCI addition treatments reduced NR activity. However, no direct relationship with nitrate was observed. Growth characteristics such leaf length and leaf width were not significantly influenced by chloride addition.

  • The purpose of this analysis was to classify music therapy studies published in KCI journals to understand the type of research being conducted and trends in the research. This study analyzed 472 music therapy articles published in KCI journals from 2005 to October 31, 2017. The study analyzed the overall characteristics of the included studies, trends in each research field, study subjects, research types, and commonalities and differences between research fields. It was confirmed that the number of music therapy studies published in KCI journals steadily increased from 2005. The results also confirmed that the research subjects and types of music therapy research became more diverse. For example, earlier studies focused on participants with disabilities, but populations without disabilities were increasingly the focus of more recent studies. Similarly, earlier studies were mostly experimental or descriptive, but more recent research included historical, philosophical, and program development studies. The results of analysis confirm that music therapy research is evolving and being conducted in cooperation with many other fields. This article provides a snapshot of the current state of music therapy research and offers implications for the future of music therapy research with multidisciplinary characteristics.

  • As KCI under U.S.D is impossible to calculate all sections compared P-M Interaction Curve of the circular concrete column under EC2 of limit state design and KCI. Result of the construction, P-M Interaction Curve according to design for standard is about the same. If a covering depth rased, EC2 is better safety than KCI.
