Statistical Study For The prediction of pKa Values of Substituted Benzaldoxime Based on Quantum Chemicals Methods

  • Multiple regression analysis was used for the calculation of pKa values of 15 substituted benzaldoximes by using various types of descriptors as parameters. These descriptors are based on quantum mechanical treatments. They were derived by employing semi-empirical calculation represented by the PM3 model and an Abinitio method expressed by Hartree-Fock(HF) model performed at the 6-311 G(d, p) level of theory. The parameters tested for their ability to represent the variations observed in the experimental pKa(s) are atomic and structural properties including Muliken charges on the atoms of hydroxyl group and C=N bond, the angle $C_6-C_1-C_7$, and length of O-H bond. Molecular properties are also used like energies of HOMO and LUMO, hardness(${\eta}$), chemical potential(${\mu}$), total energy(TE), dipole of molecule(DM), and electrophilicity index(W). The relation between pKa values and each of these parameters of the studied compounds is investigated. Depending on these relations, two sets of parameters were constructed for comparison between the PM3 and HF methods. The results obtained favor the Abinitio method for such applications although both models proved to have high predictive power and have sufficient reliability to describe the effect of substituents on pKa values of benzaldoxime compounds under consideration which is clear from the values of correlation coefficient $R^2$ obtained and the consistency between the experimental and the calculated values.

  • We have performed an EMTDC simulation for the current limiting effects of a superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL). The fault currents in the 154 kV transmission line between the arbitrary S1 and S2 substations increased up to 54 KA and 60 KA during the line-to-line and three phase faults, respectively. The SFCL with 100$\omega$ of resistance after quench limited the currents to less than 17 KA within a half cycle. This limited current is well below the upper limit of a circuit breaker, suggesting that the resistance of the SFCL in the transmission line is sufficient.

Seasonal Effects on the Performance of Newly Evolved Bivoltine Hybrids of the Silkworm (Bombyx mori L.) Under Tropics

  • Seasonal effects of the newly evolved bivoltine hybrid namely CSR$_2$${\times}$SR$_{5}$, SR$_1$ ${\times}$SR$_4$ and control hybrid KA${\times}$NB$_4$D$_2$ along with their parents SR$_1$, SR$_4$, SR$_{5}$, CSR$_2$ KA and NB$_4$D$_2$ were evaluated during different seasons of the year to understand genotype and environment interactions. Data were collected on five economic importance namely, pupation rate, cocoon yield, cocoon weight, cocoon shell ratio and filament length of the lines, hybrids and the control breeds/hybrid in three different seasons i.e., Pre-Monsoon, Monsoon and post-monsoon and subjected to relevant statistical methods. Seasonal performance of CSR$_2$, SR$_1$, SR$_4$ and SR$_{5}$ revealed superiority over control breeds KA and NB$_4$D$_2$. Both the hybrids i.e., CSR$_2$${\times}$SR$_{5}$ and SR$_1$${\times}$SR$_4$ performed well under diversified environmental conditions of tropical climate in a year indicating overall stability. These hybrids revealed highly significant (P < 0.01) variations for majority of the traits studied over the control hybrid KA${\times}$NB$_4$D$_2$.$.

Ka대역 위성통신용 타원형 이중옵셋 그레고리안 안테나 설계 (The Design of Elliptical Dual Offset Gregorian Antenna for Satellite Communication on Ka-band)

  • In this paper, we have designed the elliptical dual offset gregorian antenna which can use Ka band earth station antennas in the fixed-satellite service. The structure of antenna is increasing the antenna gain by decreasing blockage areas and decreasing wind effects by shortening height of the antenna. The corrugate horn antenna for this antenna has symmetric radiation patterns and low side lobe levels that can meet ITU-R envelope. The distribution of electric field on a aperture of main reflector is calculated by an ray-tracing method that use the radiation pattern of the feed horn. The final geometric of antena is decided by choosing the distribution that comply with antenna requirement. The FEKO analysed electrical performance of this antenna. The fabricated antenna has 45.0dBi(@30.0GHz)/41.7dBi(@20.2GHz), high efficiency and low side lobe level that meet ITU-R S. 580-6 envelope.

카스텔라니가시아메바 혹은 대식가시아메바로 분류된 분리주간의 ribosomaIDNA conserved region의 PCR-RFLP의 다양성 (PCR and RFLP variation of conserved region of small subunit ribosomal DNA among Acanthamoeba isolates assigned to either A. castellanii or A. polyphaga)

  • 형태학적으로 카스텔라니가시아메바 혹은 대식가시아메바로 동정된 12 분리주들과 쿨버트손가시 아메바. 힐리가시아메바(Aconthomoeba hedwi) 팔레스타인가시아메바(A. plestinenis) 별가시아메바의 small subunitribosomal RNA유전자(ssu rDNA) 중 conserved region을 PCRR 증폭하여 제한효노절단부위를 비교하떴다. 별가시아메바의 PCR증폭 산물의 크기는 1.170 bp였고 나머지 분기주들의 것은 910-930 bp 사이였다 카스텔라너가시아메바로 분류건 여섯 주간의 추정 염기치찬율의 평근은 9.BPg였고. 대식가시아떼바로 분류된 분리주간의 그 평근은 9 6U였다. 카스텔 라니가시아메바로 분류된 여섯 분리주들 사이의 최대 염기치환율은 Chang주와 Ma주 사이의 (7 3%)였고 대식가시아메바로 분류된 여섯 분리주간의 최대 염기치환율은 1A/S3주와 KA/S7주 사이의 (16.1%)였다. 이들 종내 최대 염기치환율은 Castellani주 혹은 CCAP 1501/12g주와 KA/S3 주 사이에거 나타난 카스텔라니가시아메바와 대식가시아떼바간의 종간 최소 염기치환율(2.6%)보 다 횔씬 컸나. 쿨버트손가시아메바. 힐리가시아메바 팔레스타인가시아메바 및 별가시아메바의 PCR-RFLP 양상은 카스텔라니가시아메바 또는 대식가시아메바로 동정된 분리주들의 것들과 그리 고 강호간에서도 높은 염기치환율(평균 23 6%)을 보였다. 이상의 성적으로 미루어 보아 가시아메바속의 분류는 재평가 해 보아야 할 건으로 생각된다 A. healyi와 A. palestinensis의 우리말 이름을 각각 힐리가시아메바와 팔레스타인가시아메바로 제안한다.

황산화 키토산 유도체의 합성과 항에이즈활성 (Novel Synthesis of Sulfated Chitosan Derivatives and its Anti-HIV-1 Activity)

  • To investigate anti-HIV-1 activity of water soluble chitosans, sulfated chitosan derivatives were prepared in mild condition. Various sulfated chitosan derivatives (N-3,6-O-S-chitosan, N-desulfated 3,6-O-S-chitosan, 3,6-O-S-chitin, and 3,6-O-sulfated-N-(o-carboxybenzoyl) chitosan) were synthesized with sulfurtrioxidepyridene complex in pyridine solvent. Characterization of the sulfated chitosan derivatives was carried out by $^{13}C$ NMR and IR spectroscopies. To observe ionic reaction properties, pKas of the sulfated chitosan derivatives and chitosan of low molecular weight were estimated by potentiometric titration. The sulfated chitosan derivatives had high water solubility, pKas (pKa : 7.7) of N-3,6-O-S-chitosan and N-desulfated 3,6-O-S-chitosan were increased than pKa of water insoluble chitosan (pKa : 6.2), These results suggest the participation of electrostatic interaction of amino and sulfate groups on the sulfated chitosans. Anti-HIV-1 drugs, such as AZT, ddC, and ddI for anti-HIV activity had higher selective index compared with SCB-chitosan but N-3,6-O-S-chitosan has shown higher selective index compared with ddC and ddI as HIV drugs.. These results suggest that sulfated chitosan derivatives were expected as an anti-HIV drug with differential driving force mechanism against some nucleoside analogs drug in the future.

  • 본 논문에서는 상용소자의 특성과 상향변환기의 모듈에 소요되는 링크전력을 비교 분석하여 Ka-band VSAT UPCONVERTER를 설계하였다. $30GHz{\sim}31GHz$대역에서 2W 출력신호를 나타내기 위하여 상향변환시스템은 IF증폭단, 감쇄기, 믹서단, 대역통과필터 및 2W 전력증폭단으로 구성시켰으며 상용MMIC를 이용하여 설계된 상향변환모듈은 $6.29dBm{\sim}7.88dBm$의 출력전력, 이득은 $23.19{\sim}28.15dB$을 Cain flatness는 4.95dB를 나타내었다. 최종단의 전력증폭기는 $33.75{\sim}34.96dBm$의 출력전력을 나타내었으며 이득은 $38.5{\sim}41.98dB$로 측정되었다.

Supratentorial Intraparenchymal Haemorrhages during Spine Surgery

  • Intracranial haemorrhages are rare but potentially life-threatening complications of spine surgery. Most reported cases involved subdural or cerebellar haemorrhages; supratentorial parenchymal bleeding is very uncommon. We report a 28-year-old woman who underwent resection of a thoracic Ewing's sarcoma, and developed fatal haemorrhages around her cerebral metastases during surgery. The clinical presentations, possible pathogenesis and potential preventive measures are discussed. Patients with disseminated metastases within the neural axis are at risks of intracranial complications during spine surgery. The presence of intracranial mass lesions should be considered as a relative contraindication to intradural spine surgery.

밀리미터파대역(Ka-대역)소형 레이더용 고 전력 저 손실 2축 도파관 로터리 조인트 연구 (A Study on the High-power Low-loss Dual Axes Waveguide Rotary Joint for Ka-Band Millimeter-Wave Small Radar)

  • 본 논문에서는 고 전력 저 손실 특성을 가지는 소형 레이더용 Ka-대역 밀리미터파 2축 도파관 로터리 조인트 설계 및 제작하였다. 전기적 성능은 상온 S-parameter 시험, 고 전력 시험, 운용 온도 시험을 통해 검증하였다. 로터리 조인트는 기능적으로 구형 도파관에서 원형 도파관으로 변환하는 모드 변환기 구조 및 회전 부분의 초크 구조로 구성된다. 본 구조는 고정된 송신기와 2축으로 회전하는 안테나를 최소 손실을 가지도록 전기적 연결 및 경량화를 고려하여 설계하였다. 설계된 로터리 조인트는 중심 주파수 Fc 기준 ${\pm}500MHz$의 대역에서 VSWR 1.5:1 이하 반사 손실, -2.0 dB 이상 삽입 손실 특성을 가지며, 측정 결과는 설계 결과와 유사함을 확인하였다.
