A study on the measurement of cavity pressure and computer simulation (성형조건에 따른 캐비티 내압 측정 및 컴퓨터 모사)

  • Injection molding operation consists of filling, packing, and cooling phase. The highest pressure is involved during the packing phase among the operation phases. Cavity pressure depends upon velocity to pressure switchover time and magnitude of packing pressure. The cavity pressure is directly related to stress concentration in the cavity of mold. Thus the observation and control of cavity pressure is very important to prevent mold cracking. In this study, cavity pressures were observed for operational conditions using the commercial CAE software,Moldflow. Operational conditions were velocity to pressure switchover time and packing pressure. Cavity pressures were also measured directly during injection molding. Simulation and experimental results showed good agreement.

  • Large injection molds commonly have molding defects such as flashes and variation of product thickness. In this study, we conducted injection molding CAE analysis to find out the cavity pressure and structural analysis to find out mold deflection as input load conditions injection pressure obtained from injection molding analysis. As the results from CAE analysis, we found which element is the most effective on the mold deflection and we suggested a mold design to minimize the mold deflection.

  • Transferring patterns from mold to PDMS stamp is very useful technology in micro-fabrication, complex and three-dimensional structures. First experimentation, mold's patterns wens transferred to PDMS stamp. Comparing with PDMS stamp and Mold, patterns were transferred about 97.9%. Second experimentation, PDMS stamps were made several times by only one mold, scale and distance of transferred patterns were uniform about 89.3%. We proved that transferring patterns from mold to PDMS stamp is accurate. The uniformity of stamps is the same after mold was used several times. Transferring patterns from mold to PDMS stamp has uniformity and accuracy, it will be useful technology.

The Effect of Casting Condition and Heat Treatment on the Mechanical Properties of AC4C Alloy Castings (AC4C 합금의 기계적 성질에 미치는 주조조건과 열처리의 영향에 관한 연구)

  • AC4C alloy casts in the metallic mold, zircon sand mold, silica sand mold and shell mold with the pouring temperatures of 680, 710 and $740^{\circ}C$ have been investigated. The tensile strength, elongation and hardness of AC4C alloy castings have been influenced by the kind of molds used. The mechanical properties in zircon sand mold castings were greater than those in other sand mold castings, but were inferior to the properties in metallic mold castings. Eutectic Si particle size and DAS were increased in the order of metallic mold, ziron sand mold, silica sand mold and shell mold. Also, they were increased with the increase of pouring temperatures. DAS, eutectic Si particle size and grain size decreased with the increase of mechanical properties as the cooling rate increased. The eutectic Si particle size and DAS of AC4C alloy castings after T6 treatment were decreased in as-cast. The variation of eutectic Si particle size has been effected on the tensile strength, elongation and fractured surface.

  • Double-injection molding can inject two different materials or two colors in the same mold and process. If this injection process use, product has ability because the base part maintain strength and specified part can inject soft-material. It makes the cost down by single operation automatically for saving wages. In this paper, we designed double-injection mold for automobile remote control to inject secondary using this part as insert after inject external appearance of product. CAE analysis was progressed gate location and runner size as variable and analysis result is reflected in mold design process. As a result, it could solved badness that is generated at the conventional mold. Additionally, cost is downed by reducing loss of runner as well as could omit painting process because surface of finished product is improved through new mold.

  • Mold making and product manufacturing process was made by a die through a number of stages. Thereby, it takes a long period of time from the manufacture of mold until passed the products to consumers. However, it is not possible to meet the diverse desires purchasing of consumer. We made a 3D CAD Model aligned with product scan data using reverse engineering. Utilizing thereafter flow analysis to derive the optimal mold conditions, by applying the condition, and devised a mold fabrication process that is much shorter than the conventional process for fabricating a mold. In this study, the outlet cover to the product, it describes a process, as a result, it was confirmed that the number of steps can be shortened much more than the conventional process.

  • Orchard sprayers, wide area dusters and multipurpose control cars are flagship products of Hansung T&I Ltd. Spray pumps are one of the essential parts for these products. But conventional belt pulleys for spray pumps are heavy and expensive, and they bring down the quality as well as productivity of the end-products. Therefore, this study focuses on mold design for aluminum die casting belt pulley and mold manufacture.

  • This study looks at plastic mold design for robots and mold manufacture, which is an injection mold branch at The Korea-China-Japan University Grand Prize Contest. Product analysis and layout, molding analysis, and upper and lower core design are carried out to design molds in 2D and 3D. After the design of the cores, NC machining software is used for simulation before actual manufacture. Before the production of end-product, test injection is done to troubleshoot problems like bad dimensions, burr, cracks and stepped pulley.

  • Currently, injection molding process is a very useful technique that be applied to many field. And injection molding technology has been commercial based on many studies. However, there is no standard of surface roughness because there are few studies about surface technology of injection product. In addition, when designing the mold, changes of the core surface and the injection conditions are not considered. In this paper, change of surface according to the core and the injection conditions was compared with the surface of the injection product. Accumulation of these technologies will propose direction in mold design, manufacturing and injection molding technology.

  • The object of this study is a manufacture of buff die using CAM systems. Systems are consist of AutoCAD, CAM software and CNC milling machine. CAM software is purpose of G-code generation for CNC programming. Then CAM software and CNC milling machine are connect to RS-232-C cable for networking.
