The Effects of Similarity and Brand Fit of Extension Type on Beauty Brand Attitude (뷰티브랜드 확장 시 확장유형의 유사성과 브랜드적합성이 브랜드태도에 미치는 영향)

  • Despite the attention regarding the effects of brand extension, there is limited research focused on brand extension in the beauty industry. This study discusses whether the similarity of extensional types and brand fit has any effect on the brand attitude toward beauty brand extension. This study examines the changes in the brand attitude and finds the effect of the similarity of extensional types and brand fits on brand attitude toward beauty brand extension. In the experiment, 4 description type factorial designs were performed. A total of 114 females participated in the experiment that had an experience of visiting a beauty salon. The results are as follows. First, the similarity of an extensional product-type has a positive effect on attitude toward parent beauty brand, while the similarity of extensional service-type does not. Second, there are significant independent and interaction effects between similarity and brand fit, which reveal differential influences on attitudes toward an extended beauty brand. Attitudes toward parent and extended beauty brands were affected by the similarity of extensional types and brand fit.

The Effect of Experience Marketing on Brand Attitude and Brand Loyalty of Beauty Salon Franchise Stores (프랜차이즈 미용실에서의 체험마케팅이 브랜드 태도와 브랜드 충성도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study examined the relative importance level of experience marketing on brand attitude and brand loyalty in beauty salon franchise stores, and attempted to raise the competitiveness of beauty salon services by presenting this elements as experience marketing strategy directions for beauty salon franchise store management. A questionnaire was used for this study on 350 adults residing in Gwangju Metropolitan City and SPSS 20.0 statistics package was used for analysis. In summary, the results of this study are as follows. First, five factors that make up experience marketing in beauty salon franchise stores were found. They were sensory marketing, relative marketing, emotional marketing, cognitive marketing and behavior marketing. Brand loyalty was categorized into the two factors, attitude loyalty and behavioral loyalty. Also, we found that experience marketing had a statistically positive impact on brand loyalty. Secondly, experience marketing of beauty salon franchise stores was found to have a statistically significant positive effect on brand attitude. Thirdly, we found that the brand attitude of beauty salon franchise stores had a statistically significant positive effect on brand loyalty.

  • The potential for brand dilution occurs when new brands merge with an identical image of a parent brand. Despite the significant attention regarding the effects of dilution on brand extension, there is limited research on brand dilution in the beauty industry. This study analyzes the effect of the typicality of extensional type on brand attitude or purchase intention for potential dilution toward beauty brand extension. In addition, we examine the moderating effect of knowledge transfer when customers evaluate the typicality of the extensional type for potential dilution toward beauty brand extensions. For the experiment, 4 description type factorial designs were performed. A total of 219 students participated in the experiment who had experience of visiting a beauty salon. The results are as follows. First, there are significant independent and interaction effects between the typicality and extensional type that reveals differential influences on the attitude or purchase intentions toward extended beauty brands. Second, the knowledge of the parent brand is transferred to extended brands. Third, there is a significant moderating effect of knowledge transfer, as customers evaluate the typicality of the extensional type for the potential dilution toward beauty brand extension. This study provides some theoretical and practical perspectives with some limitations.

  • Ice cream color is delivered brand stories to consumer through visual sense stimulation. Today's consumption patterns reflect not just five-senses(look, taste, hear, touch, smell) satisfaction but also the consumption of satisfaction through brand value. these marketing of utilized color is using in beauty design area also. therefore these a study is consisting the theoretical and empirical research, that's for implemented of storytelling the beauty design. on this base contemplation 'B' brand ice cream's color and brand story through the theoretical research, and express the derived design on nails by the empirical research. As a result, a study is implied fusion of ice cream color and nail art design, that believed to serve as a basic source of beauty design and color imagnation that reflect the color of specific brand.

  • This study was conducted to propose name and role of a beauty-related specialist, a brand-new profession, recognizing that rapidly evolving culture and industries call for development of a new occupation in beauty business in the 21st century, and to suggest an approach to set up a department to produce such experts. To this end, extensive data and information were collected from relevant companies, education institutions, and all of the eighty two departments at 2-year junior colleges around the country, and were analyzed. The findings of the study are as follows: First, it was acknowledged that a new occupation distinct from existing ones is required in the beauty business. Secondly, the study has defined role of the new job; a professional beauty stylist who is competent to work across beauty, coordination and fashion with long-term perspective. Thirdly, the study suggested name of the brand-new occupation as beauty stylist. The results summarized above have meaningful implications; the study identified weaknesses of the existing beauty-related departments, and suggested practical approaches to improve them in order to provide effective education on the new profession, beauty stylist, and enhance adaptation capability.

A Study on the Facial Image and Recognition of Cosmetics Brand Personality of University Women (여대생들의 얼굴 이미지와 화장품 브랜드 개성 인지도)

  • The purposes of this study were to provide information on customers for cosmetic companies to develop goods and promotion strategy by examining facial images of university women and their recognition level about cosmetics brand personality. The results were as follows; First, satisfaction level of university women with their lips and eyes was very high, while lowest in skins. Second, factors of brand personality of three kinds of foreign cosmetics brands and three kinds of domestic brands were sincerity, beauty, renovation, reliability and ruggedness. In beauty, reliability and ruggedness, they preferred foreign brands to domestic ones, while they preferred domestic ones in sincerity and renovation. Third, the satisfaction level with face had a statistically significant relationship to the importance of face and cosmetic brands, while the importance of face had to the beauty of the brand. In the interrelationship among facial images and the factors of brand personality, they had significant interrelationships, provided beauty and ruggedness, and reliability and ruggedness had no significant interrelationship.

  • The purpose of this study was to find out the difference between high self-esteem and low self-esteem about the product. The study used the questionnaire method to find out the control effect of self-esteem on apparel brand types. The survey data was analyzed by SPSS Hangul 10.0 Statistic Package. 16 apparel brands that had been selected by a preliminary study were surveyed by using. Brand Mapping was performed in each group for brand classification, and ANOVA was conducted in order to compare the variables depending on brand types. The self-esteem was surveyed by using the self-esteem scale by Rosenberg was used. Multivariate analysis was conducted to identify brand preference, product involvement according to purchase intention and the interactive effects of the brand types that are divided into familiarity and control recognition. For the purpose of the study was to compare searched the results of the high self-esteem comparison with the low self-esteem. The results of the study found the differences on perception about the brand between the high self-esteem and the low self-esteem on the preference. People with high self-esteem liked the brand that was perceived obedience. But the low self-esteem liked the brand that was perceived control.

  • This study is to examine the effects of marketing communications strategies which are also buying brand image and beauty services supplier discount information on consumer attitudes. Beauty service providers will have to consider that price discounts are worried impact on the brand image and purchase intentions. In this study, an empirical analysis demonstrated the impact on the brand image, price discount and discounts way. Discount in this study was shown to negatively affect the brand image, there is also a purchased showed a positive impact. Therefore, the proposed price reductions only way to save off the asking price was lower this distinction and professionalism. On the other hand, intent-upon price discount were positive. If such a price discount if the discount just present attitude towards the use of low discount rates but suggested it was found that the intent is absolutely high.

Effects of Service Experience and Brand Reputation on Intention by Word of Mouth : Focused on Beauty Salon Service (서비스 경험과 브랜드 명성이 구전의도에 미치는 영향: 미용실서비스를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this research is to investigate the influences of service experience and brand reputation on intention by word of mouth(WOM) when consumers get experiences at beauty salon. We made 2(valence of service experience: positive/negative) ${\times}$ 2(brand reputation level: high/low) subjects experimental design in order to find reason that there is a significant difference of intention by word of the mouth between positive experience condition and negative experience condition. Also we tried to find the interaction of two factors. To test our hypothesis, an experiment was performed on 68 university students in seoul area. Specifically, we used 2-way ANOVA and planned contrast method through SPSS 12.0 procedure. As a result, a two-way ANOVA demonstrated a significant main effect of service experience, which means that people more intend to make WOM when they experience a negative service than a positive service. Also the ANOVA showed a significant interaction effect between service experience and brand reputation, which represents that people more intend to make WOM for high-reputed(low-reputed) brand than low-reputed(high-reputed) brand when they encounter negative(positive) services.

The Effect of CSR Motivation of K-Beauty Brands on CSR Authenticity and Brand Trust -Focusing on Comparison of Korean and Chinese Consumers- (K-뷰티 브랜드의 CSR동기가 CSR 진정성과 브랜드 신뢰에 미치는 영향 -한·중 소비자 비교를 중심으로-)

  • This study conducted a comparative study using Korean and Chinese consumer data to confirm the impact of K-beauty brand's CSR motivation on CSR authenticity and brand trust, and the effect of CSR authenticity and brand trust on brand support. Of the collected data, 392 copies were used for verification and analyzed using a two-step approach and maximum likelihood measure. As a result of the study, it was found that value-driven, stakeholder-driven, and strategic motivations, excluding egoistic motivations, had a positive effect on CSR authenticity and brand trust. In addition, CSR authenticity had a positive effect on brand trust, which was found to support the brand. As a result of comparing Korean and Chinese consumers, it was found that CSR motives in both countries affect authenticity and brand trust, but Chinese consumers showed higher results in more areas than Korean consumers. These results show that K-beauty brands in order to expand the Chinese market, it has implications that it is necessary to understand Chinese consumers and strengthen the CSR motivation strategy they pursue.
