The scalable extension of H.264, known as scalable video coding (SVC) has been the main focus of the Joint Video Team's work and was finalized at the end of 2007. Synchronization between media is an important aspect in the design of a scalable video streaming system. This paper proposes an efficient media synchronization mechanism for SVC video transport over IP networks. To support synchronization between video and audio bitstreams transported over IP networks, a real-time transport protocol/RTP control protocol (RTP/RTCP) suite is usually employed. To provide an efficient mechanism for media synchronization between SVC video and audio, we suggest an efficient RTP packetization mode for inter-layer synchronization within SVC video and propose a computationally efficient RTCP packet processing method for inter-media synchronization. By adopting the computationally simple RTCP packet processing, we do not need to process every RTCP sender report packet for inter-media synchronization. We demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed mechanism by comparing its performance with that of the conventional method.

Primary hyperparathyroidism is rare disease entity which secretes parathyroid hormone in excessively resulting in hypercalcemia. It involves skeletal system, urinary tract, gastrointestinal tract, and central nervous system. Recently the determination of the serum calcium and parathyroid hormone level has become a routine laboratory test and the localization of involved gland by neck ultrasonogram and parathyroid gland substraction scan has reduced operative complications. For the purpose of improvement of diagnosis and treatment, the authors analyzed the clinical characteristics of 6 cases of primary hyperparathyroidism(adenoma 5 cases, carcinoma 1 case) during 10 years and report with literatures.

The cytotoxic activity of 13(E)-labd-13-ene-8α, 15-diol (1) was evaluated against tumor cell lines. A comparison of IC/sub 50/ values of this compound in cancer cell lines showed that their susceptibility to this compound decreased in the following order: P388>B16{F10>MDA-MB-231>A549>KB>SNU-C4 by the MTT method. 13(E}-Labd-13-ene-8α, 15-diol (1) was the most effective growth inhibitor of P388 murine leukaemia cell lines, producing approximately 8.3㎍/mL of IC/sub 50/ in the MTT method.

Nitrosative modifications regulate cellular signal transduction and pathogenesis of inflammatory responses and neuro-degenerative diseases. Protein tyrosine nitration is a biomarker of oxidative stress and also influences protein structure and function. Recent advances in mass spectrometry have made it possible to identify modified proteins and specific modified amino acid residues. For analysis of nitrated peptides with low yields or only a subset of peptides, affinity 'tags' can be bait for 'fishing out' target analytes from complex mixtures. These tagged peptides are then extracted to a solid phase, followed by mass analysis. In this review, we focus on protein tyrosine modifications caused by nitrosative stresses and proteomic methods for selective enrichment and identification of nitrosative protein modifications.

스마트 의류는 각종 디지털 기기나 기능을 의복에 통합시킨 차세대 의류이며, 그 중 포토닉(photonic) 의류는 광섬유를 이용해 옷의 색을 변화시킬 수 있어 다양한 개성표현이 가능한 복종이다. 본 연구는 기존 색 관련 연구들이 의류라는 맥락과 광섬유라는 새로운 소재에 그대로 적용될 수 있는지에 대해 다루고 있다. 실험 1 을 통하여 옷의 색과 색 변화를 통해 정서 전달과 표현의 가능성을 검증하였으며, 형용사 이미지 척도를 사용한 실험 2 를 통해 포토닉 의류가 기존의 웹 컬러와 다른 감성의 차원을 가질 수 있음을 밝혔다.

The speed-torque characteristics of the squirrel cage induction motor is determined by the rotor resistance. This paper presents the fabrication and test results of an HTS induction motor. Conventional end rings and short bars were replaced with HTS tapes in the rotor. Test result shows that the speeds of the HTS induction motor were the same with synchronous speed and the starting torque was about 19Nm.

In this paper, we have proposed a Parallel Resonant Soft Switching Inverter based on Delta-Modulation Method. The conventional full-bridge inverter generates switching losses due to the hard switching. The proposed inverter operates soft switching using a DC-link switch and resonant circuit. So, all of the switches in the proposed inverter operates soft switching. Therefore the proposed inverter can reduce not only switching loss but also capacity and size of passive devices due to the resonant elements. The validity of the proposed inverter is verified thorough the theoretical analysis and simulation.
