The purpose of this study is to closely examine kinematic characteristics by jump phase of Li Xiaopeng motion in horse vaulting and provide the training data. In doing so, as a result of analyzing kinematic variables through 3-dimensional cinematographic using the high-speed video camera to Li Xiaopeng motion first performed at the men's vault competition at the 14th Busan Asian Games, the following conclusion was obtained. 1. It was indicated that at the post-flight, the increase of flight time and height and twisting rotational velocity has a decisive effect on the increase of twist displacement. And Li Xiaopeng motion showed longer flight time and higher flight height than Ropez motion with the same twist displacement of entire movement. Also the rotational displacement of the trunk at peak of COG was much short of $360^{\circ}$(one rotation) but twist displacement showed $606^{\circ}$. Likewise, Li Xiaopeng motion was indicated to concentrate on twist movement in the early flight. 2. It was indicated that at the landing, Li Xiaopeng motion gets the hip to move back, the trunk to stand up and the horizontal velocity of COG to slow down. This is thought to be the performance of sufficient landing, resulting from large security of rotational displacement of airborne and twist displacement. 3. It was indicated that at the board contact, Li Xiaopeng motion made a rapid rotation uprighting the trunk to recover slowing velocity caused by jumping with the horse in the back, and has already twisted the trunk nearly close to $40^{\circ}$ at board contact. Under the premise that elasticity is generated without the change of the feet contacting the board, it will give an aid to the rotation and twist of pre-flight. Thus, in the round-oH phase, the tap of waist according to the fraction and extension of hip joint and arm push is thought to be very important. 4. It was indicated that at the pre-flight, Li Xiaopeng motion showed bigger movement than the techniques of precedented studies rushing to the horse, and overcomes the concern of relatively low power of jump through the rapid rotation of the trunk. Li Xiaopeng motion secured much twist distance, increased rotational distance with the trunk bent forward, resulting in the effect of rushing to the horse. 5. At horse contact, Li Xiaopeng motion makes a short-time contact, and maintains horse take-off angle close to vertical, contributing to the increase of post-flight time and height. This is thought to be resulted from rapid move toward movement direction along with the rotational velocity of trunk rapidly earned prior to horse contact, and little shave of rotation axis according to twist motion because of effective twist in the same direction.
The purpose of this study was to find differences of jumping performances within individual and to identify the influencing factors in these differences. 20 male subjects performed 6 maximal vertical jumps. The best(GP) & worst(BP) performance of each subject based on their jump height were compared in further analysis. There was a significant difference of approx. 10% in the jump height between GP and BP, which resulted from height of COM and vertical velocity at the instant of take-off. We could observe a significantly higher ankle moment in the GB more than the BP but no significant differences for the knee and hip joint. Also the maximum power of ankle joints in the GP were significantly higher than that in the BP. According to the results, the mechanical output of knee and hip joint are not as influential as that of ankle joint for difference of performance within individual. In conclusion, the results showed that mechanical output of the ankle joint could be more influential factors on the performances within individual although the knee and hip joint play an important role in the vertical jump. We therefore propose that more emphasis should be placed on the potentiation of the ankle joint for the training of the maximum vertical jump.

The purpose of this study was to compare the differences according to the visual selection and rotation order during sequential rotational jump for female dancers of a Korean ballet company by classifying them into take-off and landing sections. 10 subjects (age: 26.0±2.9 yrs, height: 163.4±3.3 cm, weight: 46.8±3.6 kg, ballet career: 12.3±5.9 yrs) participated in the study. Using a 3D motion analyzer and a force platform, the height of the body center and the ground reaction force during take-off and landing were measured. According to the visual condition (using both eyes, using left eye, using right eye) and rotation order (first rotation, second rotation), it was analyzed through repeated measurement two-way analysis. Height of the CM was higher in the first jump. In take-off, Fx was lateral force of left foot and medial force of right foot were strong in second rotation, and Fy was forward force was strong in first rotation of right foot. Fz was no significant. In landing, Fy showed backward force was strong when landing the second time from the left foot, and the backward force was strong when using the left sight from the right foot. Fz was strong on the second landing on the left foot and the first landing on the right foot.
The purpose of this research was to analyze the kinematics of the 205B movement in platform diving. For the experiment, 2 athlete from the national diving team were chosen as the subject and two S -VHS video cameras were used. For this diving players preparing for the olympics participated. It was shown that the mean total took $1.112{\pm}0.12s$. In order to perform better, the divers time must be increased, at take off and rotation must be done high up and the horizontal distance must be shorted to main entrance of the water. To enter the water safely, the jump has to be high, the horizontal speed slow and the vertical speed as fast as possible. At E1 the lower limbs change in speed should decrease and after the rotation begins at E2. At take off, the jump is more important than the rotation for the performance of the dive. At take off, the trunk angular velocity was high, and this was needed to jump high for moment of inertia for rotation because for efficient jumping the upper body has to spread out and increase the height of the center of mass.
The purpose of this study was to analyze, from a kinematical point of view, the high jump techniques of three women's high jump winners at the IAAF World Championships, Daegu 2011. The trends for the techniques of the world's top high jumpers were examined, with a view toward adapting these techniques to the physical characteristics of Korean women's high jumpers. It was valuable that Di Martino, who was the shortest in height, was able to win a medal by using a single arm swing take-off technique, along with a half flexed leading leg swing to attain a deep arch and clear the bar. This showed that the world's top athletes used jumping techniques with no decrease in the run-up velocity at the take-off. Furthermore, It appeared that the knee joint angle at take-off had a direct effect on the body position at take-off (H1).
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect that difference in forefoot of shoe flexibility during the quick lunge from a jump smashing on the lower limbs and the plantar pressure distribution. For this 10 elite badminton players with over 10 years experience and right handed participated. Two kinds of badminton shoes were selected and tested mechanical testing for the forefoot flexibility. Motion analysis, ground reaction forces and plantar pressure distribution were recorded. It was required to conduct lunge movement after jumping smashing as possible as high. Photo sensor was located in 3 meter away from standing position and its height was 40 cm. Subjects were conducted to return original position after touching the sensor as under clear movement as possible as fast. Forefoot stiffness had an effect on shoe peak bending degree and peak bending angular velocity in propulsion phase. Forefoot flexibility had an effect on ankle plantar flexion and knee flexion moment. It appears that joint power on lower limb and peak plantar pressure were not influenced by the flexibility of shoes.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to quantitatively evaluate the Wii Balance Board (WBB)-based jump performance for the elderly and to confirm the difference in jump performance according to age. Design: Cross-sectional study. Methods: 40 young adults (aged 22.5±2.2 years) and 33 elderly (aged 75.1±5.2 years) without orthopedics disease participated in this study. Standing on the WBB then, with the signal "start," jump vertically to the maximum height at which you can jump, land on the force plate after jump and keep it standing on both feet. All subjects were required to practice the jump sufficiently before starting the measurement, each measuring three times, and the mean values were used. A one-minute break was provided between each trial. Evaluators waited within 1meter for every test to prepare for fall. Results: The vertical ground reaction force of elderly and young adults when jumping using WBB showed a significant difference (p<0.05) and demonstrated discriminant validity. Between two groups, there were significant differences in overall jump time (p<0.05), maximum value (p<0.05), minimum value (p<0.05), center of pressure (COP) pathlength (p<0.05), and flight time p<0.05). Conclusions: This study found that performing the vertical jump, the elderly showed longer jump time, lower vertical ground reaction force, COP pathlength and shorter flight phase than healthy young adults using WBB and demonstrated that as a measurement tool, WBB discriminated vertical jump performance between elderly and young adults.
Background: Plyometric exercise is an exercise exerting forceful power in a brief period using isotonic activation. It is effective to improve reaction of muscle, agility, endurance and athletics performance. Weight training is an exericse improving muscular strength, endurance and respirating ability applying diversely in frequency and load of exercise Plyometric exercise and Weight training is to facilitate the athletics performance though improving the function of lower limb muscle, there is a difference that Plyometic jump squats is the way to improve agility and Weight training is the way to improve muscular strength. Therefore, it is necessary to know how this difference effects on athletics performance as measuring ankle, ROM, and jumping ability. Design: Randomized controlled trial. Method: This study was conducted with the voluntary participation of 40 university students, who were randomly assigned to jump squat and calf raise groups (n=20 per group). For each subject, we measured the range of motion of the ankle joint before and after exercise, as well as a standing broad jump and vertical jump test performance. We compared the performance indices before and after exercises using paired t-tests, and between groups using independent-samples t-tests. Conclusions: Both jump squat and calf raise exercises improved ankle joint dorsiflexion and plantar flexion, as well as standing broad jump and vertical jump height performance. However, there were no significant differences before versus after exercise, or between exercise types. Although jump squats and calf raises have different purposes, it is thought that, in combination, these exercises improve performance more effectively than either alone, and that such a combined exercise program improves the quality of training in both the general public and athletes in various sports.
The purpose of this study is to know the effects on school lunch service programme of elementary school in rural area, by using the group consisting of the sixth year students in the schools that have provided them with the lunch for six years or longer(male student:312, & female student:324), while using the comparing group consisting of the sixth year students in the schools that have not provided them with the school lunch under their similar living condition(male student: 306 & female student:322). In addition, this study was carried out by examining all continued information about their height and weight shown in the developmetal record for six years from the 1st to 6th year, and by checking their eating habits on the basis of questionnaires. The result of this study is summarized as follows. As the result of comparing the values of their height and weight grown for 6 years, it was shown that the height of the male group provided with school lunch is 27.8 cm while the male group without lunch is 27.1 cm. And the female group provided with school lunch indicated the growing value of 29.9 cm while the group without lunch did 28.4 cm. Then, it appeared that both male and female groups provided with school lunch show higher growing values of 0.7 cm, respectively, and 1.5 cm than these groups without lunch. Also, the weight of the group without lunch was 14.8 kg. Moreover, the weight of the female group provided with school lunch was 16.9 kg while the group without lunch was 17.2 kg. Then, it was shown that the male group provided with school lunch indicates heavier growing value of 0.9 kg than the group without lunch while the female group without lunch does heavier value of 0.3 kg than the group provided with school lunch. It's figure showed that although this distribution according to percentile in the 1st year is similar to the standard regular curve it is positioned in the upper group(more thatn 70%) divided centering around 50% in the 6th year, of which distribution of children provided with school lunch was higher. When comparing the values of physical status in the 6th year, it was also shown that male children with school lunch are better than these children without lunch in jumping, throwing, chinning and lifting while female children are better than these children without lunch only in jumping, which were a significant difference. In addition, the group provided with lunch showed distribution of the higher physical grade. The result of analysis on their breakfast indicated that the children with every morning breakfast account for 67.6% of the group provided with school lunch while the group without lunch for 57.8%. Regarding the reason that they do not have the breakfast, the group with school lunch answered "Because of habits"(50.7%) while the group without lunch did "Because they have no appetite"(58.9%). When comparing the degree of preference for hot or salty food, it was apparent that these children with school lunch generally tend to prefer less hot or sailty food. With respect to the frequency and place of their eating between meals, it was shown that about 70.0% of both groups has the eating between meals, more than one time a day. Then, the group with school lunch had the eating between meals at home(45.2%) while the group without lunch did it in the process of returning to home(48.4%). Regarding the degree of their preference for a certain food, it was shown that more children of the group with school lunch do not prefer a food to others. Also, their eating attitude indicated that such children as eating the food with chat after completely swallowing food and with T.V watching are larger and lower among the group with school lunch, which showed a remarkable defference from the group without lunch. With respect to their sanitary habits such as hand washing and toothing, these children who always wash their hand before eating, accounted for 84.4 % of the group provided with school lunch while the group without lunch did for 63.6%, of which the female group with school lunch indicated a remarkable difference. The actual condition of their nutrition education showed that these children who answered "Received this education" accounted for 78.0% of the group with school lunch while the group without lunch accounted for 57.5%.
