New record of Spotstripe snapper, Lutjanus ophuysenii (Perciformes: Lutjanidae) from Korea

  • Three specimens of Lutjanus ophuysenii (217.8-226.7 mm in standard length) were collected by a gill net at Korea between August 2015 and July 2016. This species has not previously been recorded from Korea. L. ophuysenii is very similar to Lutjanus vitta. But several morphological characteristics distinguish the two species, including the number of lateral line scales (46-49 scales in L. ophuysenii; 49-52 scales in L. vitta), a black spot in the middle part of the longitudinal stripe (present in L. ophuysenii; absent in L. vitta), and the absence of a scale on posterior end of the preopercle in L. ophuysenii (present in L. vitta). The Korean name proposed for L. ophuysenii is "Jeom-jul-tung-dom."

  • In this paper, the novel method is proposed to measure the capacitance of the dc link capacitor Advantage of the method is not to separate capacitor from 3-phase AC/DC/AC converters. In the proposed method, a specific low frequency current is injected to oscillate the voltage of dc capacitor at no load condition. The capacitance of dc capacitor is calculated with the effective values of this ripple voltage and current. The validity of the proposed method is confirmed by PSIM simulation.

  • The purpose of this paper is to develop systematic analysis and automatic tuning rule of PID controller for industry servo applications. Considering the coupling of inner current control loop and speed loop delay, the target plant fit into second-order plus time delay model. Based on PID controller design for high-order plus known/unknown time delay plant model, some formulars are provided for the control gain calculation and system-based theoretical analysis is developed, and it also allows an automatic controller setup to benefit the inexperienced user. In addition, the proposed design rule gives uniformly satisfactory performance and the motor speed stays on a desired response curve with minimal oscillation and settling time. This approach can be applicable in conjunction with the cascaded control loop which is widely used in practice.

  • The paper presents implementation of a PV fuzzy logic power tracking controller. Using maximum power point tracker with the intermediate converter can increase the system efficiency by matching the PV system to the load. A new fuzzy MPPT is proposed, where fuzzy inputs parameters are dp/dI and the last incremental of duty of duty ratio $L{\delta}D$, and the output is the new incremental value $(new{\delta}D)$ according to the maximum power point under various illumination levels.

  • This paper proposes a maximum output power control of grid-connected wind power generation system using cage-type induction generators. For generator control, indirect vector control is used, where d-axis current controls the excitation level and q-axis current controls the generator speed. The generated power flows into the utility through the grid-side converter, by which the do link voltage is controlled to be constant and the ac current is controlled in sinusoid and. The generator speed is adjusted according to wind speed for extracting maximum power generation. Experimental results are shown to verify the validity of the proposed scheme.

  • 컴퓨터를 활용하여 사진영상을 얻는 기술은 여러 분야에서 많은 응용이 이루어지고 있는데, 그 중에서도 광선추적기법은 가장 많이 쓰이면서도 현실감 있는 사진영상을 얻는 음영처리 기법중의 하나이다. 하지만 영상이 복잡해짐에 따라 컴퓨터로 처리하는 시간도 그만큼 많이 소요되는데 슈퍼컴퓨터 상에서 병렬처리기법을 적용함으로써 처리시간을 상당히 줄일 수가 있다. 본 논문에서는 IBM RS/6000 SP 슈퍼컴퓨터를 활용하여 순차적 광선추적 알고리즘을 메시지 교환방식을 통한 병렬처리 기법으로 성능분석을 하고자 하였다. 실험을 위해서 슈퍼컴퓨터의 노드수를 최대 16개까지 증가시켜 가면서 복잡한 영상에 대해 병렬 광선추적 알고리즘의 성능분석을 하였고, 메시지 교환방식 중에서 블락킹 통신과 비블락킹 통신에 대해서 그 성능을 각각 비교하였다.

New record of Juvenile Stethojulis trilineata (Perciformes: Labridae) from Korea, Revealed by Molecular Analysis

  • A single specimen of a juvenile Stethojulis trilineata was first collected from the coastal waters of Ulsan, Korea, in October 2012. This species is characterized by IX dorsal fin spines, 26 lateral line scales, 25 vertebrae, dark spots between the 10th and 11th dorsal fin rays, and a caudal peduncle region. The new Korean name proposed is "Se-jul-mu-ji-gae-nol-rae-gi" for S. trilineata.

  • Pheochromocytomas are catecholamine producing tumors of neuroectoderrnal origin. Diagnosis of pheochromocytoma is significant due to potentially curable hypertension. But they have a significant associated morbidity due to uncontrolled hypertension and mortality since 10% are malignant. From Aug. 1989 to Jul. 1992, 12 patients of our institution had $^{131}I-MIBG$ scan during work up of suspected primary or recurrent pheochromocytoma. In our studies conclude that $^{131}I-MIBG$ scan is recommended as the initial localizing study of choice (especially for the detection of extraadrenal disease and postoperative recurrence) as a guide for CT and/or MR and specific functional confirmation of their findings.

  • As no reference to the seasonal variations in the mosquito population of the country has been noted in the past literature and as such a survey is apparantlyprequite to insecticidal orerations, an observat on of the subject may be ofvalue. The investigation was made te different geographical locations during theperiod from March 1952 to Jul 1956 In order to obtain as accurte an averagepicture as pasaible of the country, the locations Covered geograpically such scat-tered lropertions as could represent a balance 1croverage : S_oui, kangoongNational Forestry, Incheon, Gunaa , Uejiongbu, Chungcheon, Wonju, Taegukangnoong of the eastcoast,pohang Pusan, Masan and two islands of Chejudo andPaeckyongdo. The total of approximately 3620 larval coll ctions r.corded fromthe check points described above were divided s follows ; sexul area, 950 larvae;Kangnoong National Forestry, 850 larae; Pusan area. 520 larvae; other loations,700 larvae In mosquito to adult collactions 134 light traps (new Jersey type)and 67biting collections were performed.

한국산 빨판상어과 어류 1 미기록종 (First Record of the Remora, Phtheirichthys lineatus (Perciformes: Echeneidae) from Korea)

  • 우리나라의 동해 연안에서 채집된 빨판상어과 어류 1개체를 동정한 결과 지금까지 우리나라에서는 보고되지 않은 Phtheirichthys lineatus (Menzies)로 확인되었다. 본종은 외형상 Echeneis naucrates와 유사하지만 빨판의 판상체가 10개이고, 새파수가 1+13개이며, 척추골수가 40개인 점에서 전자와 쉽게 구별되었다. 본 종의 신한국명은 "열줄빨판이"라고 명명하였다.
