유연도 영향계수법을 이용한 접촉 결합 부의 모델링 (Finite Element Modeling of Contact Joints by Flexibility Influence Coefficient)

  • Rational dynamic modeling and analysis method f3r complex structures are studied with special attention to slide way joints. For modeling of slide way joints, a general modeling technique is used by using the influence coefficients method which is applied to the conversion of detailed finite element model to the equivalent reduced joint model. The theoretical part of this method is illustrated and the method is applied to the structure with slide way joint. In this method, the non-linearity of the contact surfaces is considered within a proper range and the boundary effect of the joint model could be eliminated. The proposed method was applied to finite element modal analysis of a clamp jointed cantilever beam and slide way joints of the vertical type lathe. The method can also be used to other kinds of joint modeling. The results of these analysis were compared with those of Yoshimura models and rigid joint models, which demonstrated the practical applicability of the proposed method.

  • Unlike robotic systems, humans excel at a variety of tasks by utilizing their intrinsic impedance, force sensation, and tactile contact clues. By examining human strategy in arm impedance control, we may be able to teach robotic manipulators human''s superior motor skills in contact tasks. This paper develops a novel method for estimating and predicting the human joint impedance using the electromyogram(EMG) signals and limb position measurements. The EMG signal is the summation of MUAPs (motor unit action potentials). Determination of the relationship between the EMG signals and joint stiffness is difficult, due to irregularities and uncertainties of the EMG signals. In this research, an artificial neural network(ANN) model was developed to model the relation between the EMG and joint stiffness. The proposed method estimates and predicts the multi joint stiffness without complex calculation and specialized apparatus. The feasibility of the developed model was confirmed by experiments and simulations.

A practical model for simulating nonlinear behaviour of FRP strengthened RC beam-column joints

  • Generally, beam-column joints are taken into account as rigid in assessment of seismic performance of reinforced concrete (RC) structures. Experimental and numerical studies have proved that ignoring nonlinearities in the joint core might crucially affect seismic performance of RC structures. On the other hand, to improve seismic behaviour of such structures, several strengthening techniques of beam-column joints have been studied and adopted in practical applications. Among these strengthening techniques, the application of FRP materials has extensively increased, especially in case of exterior RC beam-column joints. In current paper, to simulate the inelastic response in the core of RC beam-column joints strengthened by FRP sheets, a practical joint model has been proposed so that the effect of FRP sheets on characteristics of an RC joint were considered in principal tensile stress-joint rotation relations. To determine these relations, a combination of experimental results and a mechanically-based model has been developed. To verify the proposed model, it was applied to experimental specimens available in the literature. Results revealed that the model could predict inelastic response of as-built and FRP strengthened joints with reasonable precision. The simple analytic procedure and the use of experimentally computed parameters would make the model sufficiently suitable for practical applications.

CCAJS: A Novel Connect Coverage Algorithm Based on Joint Sensing Model for Wireless Sensor Networks

  • This paper discusses how to effectively guarantee the coverage and connectivity quality of wireless sensor networks when joint perception model is used for the nodes whose communication ranges are multi-level adjustable in the absence of position information. A Connect Coverage Algorithm Based on Joint Sensing model (CCAJS) is proposed, with which least working nodes are chosen based on probability model ensuring the coverage quality of the network. The algorithm can balance the position distribution of selected working nodes as far as possible, as well as reduce the overall energy consumption of the whole network. The simulation results show that, less working nodes are needed to ensure the coverage quality of networks using joint perception model than using the binary perception model. CCAJS can not only satisfy expected coverage quality and connectivity, but also decrease the energy consumption, thereby prolonging the network lifetime.

자동차용 등속 조인트의 내부 마찰 모델 개발 (Development of Internal Friction Model in Automotive Constant Velocity Joints)

  • An internal friction model was developed to model the frictional behavior of automotive Constant Velocity (CV) joints by using the test data from an instrumented CV joint friction apparatus with actual driveshaft assemblies. Experiments were conduced under different realistic operating conditions of oscillatory speeds, CV joint articulation angles, lubrication, and torque. The experimental data were used to develop a physics-based semi-empirical CV joint internal friction coefficient model as a function of different CV Joint operating parameters. It was found that the proposed friction model captures the experimental results well not only the static behavior of friction coefficient, but also the dynamic friction terms, which is the main source of force that causes vehicle vibration problems.

보-기둥 접합부 비탄성 전단거동을 고려한 5층 철근콘크리트 보통모멘트골조의 푸쉬오버해석 (Pushover Analysis of a 5-Story RC OMRF Considering Inelastic Shear Behavior of Beam-Column Joint)

  • 이 논문에서는 푸쉬오버해석을 통해 보-기둥 접합부 비탄성 전단거동과 고차모드를 고려한 횡하중 수직분포 형태가 구조물 거동에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위해 지반조건 $S_B$ 내진설계범주 C에 대해서 5층 철근콘크리트 보통모멘트골조를 KBC2009에 맞게 구조설계 하였다. 보 및 기둥 부재의 휨모멘트-곡률 관계는 섬유모델(fiber model)로 확인하였으며 보-기둥 접합부 모멘트-회전각 관계는 simple and unified joint shear behavior model과 보-기둥 접합부 모멘트 평형관계를 이용하여 확인하였다. 푸쉬오버해석 결과 보-기둥 접합부를 강체로 고려하는 경우 구조물의 강성도 및 강도가 과대평가 되었으나 반응수정계수는 접합부 비탄성거동과 관계없이 KBC2009 보통모멘트골조 계수를 만족하여 구조 설계 과정에서 보-기둥 접합부의 비탄성 전단거동을 고려하지 않아도 문제가 없을 것으로 판단된다.

Full-scale testing and modeling of the mechanical behavior of shield TBM tunnel joints

  • For shield TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine) tunnel lining, the segment joint is the most critical component for determining the mechanical response of the complete lining ring. To investigate the mechanical behavior of the segment joint in a water conveyance tunnel, which is different from the vehicle tunnel because of the external loads and the high internal water pressure during the tunnel's service life, full-scale joint tests were conducted. The main advantage of the joint tests over previous ones was the definiteness of the loads applied to the joints using a unique testing facility and the acquisition of the mechanical behavior of actual joints. Furthermore, based on the test results and the theoretical analysis, a mechanical model of segment joints has been proposed, which consists of all important influencing factors, including the elastic-plastic behavior of concrete, the pre-tightening force of the bolts and the deformations of all joint components, i.e., concrete blocks, bolts and cast iron panels. Finally, the proposed mechanical model of segment joints has been verified by the aforementioned full-scale joint tests.

머시닝센터 회전 결합부의 정강성 Tuning 기법 (Static Stiffness Tuning Method of Rotational Joint of Machining Center)

  • A method has been developed to tune the static stiffness at a rotation joint considering the whole machine tool system by interactive use of finite element method and experiment. This paper describes the procedure of this method and shows the results. The method uses the static experiment on measurement model which is set-up so that the effects of uncertain factors can be excluded. For FEM simulation, the rotation joint model is simplified using only spindle, bearing and spring. At the rotation joint, the damping coefficient is ignored, The spindle and bearing is connected by only spring. By static experiment, 500 N is forced to the front and behind portion of spindle and the deformation is measured by capacitive sensor. The deformation by FEM simulation is extracted with changing the static stiffness from the initial static stiffness considering only rotation joint. The tuning static stiffness is obtained by exploring the static stiffness directly trusting the deformation from the static experiment. Finally, the general tuning method of the static stiffness of machine tool joint is proposed using the force stream and the modal analysis of machine tool.

거칠기를 고려한 단일 절리의 전단, 수리적 거동에 대한 수치해석 (A Numerical Analysis on the Shear and Hydraulic behavior of Single Rock Joint with Roughness)

  • 불연속 암반의 역학적, 수리적 거동을 현실적으로 해석하기 위한 가장 중요한 요소 중의 하나는 실제 현상을 정확히 모사할 수 있으면서도, 사용하기 쉬운 절리 모델의 개발에 있다. 본 연구에서는 거친 단일 암석 절리의 역학적 거동을 모사하기 위해 기존의 거칢각 손상을 고려한 절리 거동의 탄소성 구성모델을 각각 1차 거칠기와 2차 거칠기의 개념을 사용하여 확장하였다. 제안된 모델을 개별체 유한요소법을 이용하여 수치해석 프로그램을 작성하였다. 거칠기 특성과 손상상수를 달리하여 실시한 변수 해석을 실시한 결과, 제안된 모델은 다양한 형상의 거친 절리의 전단 및 팽창을 수치적으로 잘 근사할 수 있었다. 실험실에서 실시된 단일 절리의 일방향 및 주기전단시험 결과와 수치해석 결과를 비교하였으며, 이를 통해 제안된 모델의 타당성을 검증하였다. 제안된 역학 모델에 충전물 생성계수와 역학 간극과 수리 간극의 관계를 고려한 수리 거동 모델을 도입하였으며, 단일 절리의 전단-수리 시험 결과와의 비교 해석을 실시하였다. 전단에 따른 절리면 사이의 투수계수 중가는 충전물 생성 및 간극 분포의 일정화 경향으로 인해 일정 전단 변위 이후에는 일정해지는 특성을 보였다.

Modeling of cyclic joint shear deformation contributions in RC beam-column connections to overall frame behavior

  • In seismic analysis of moment-resisting frames, beam-column connections are often modeled with rigid joint zones. However, it has been demonstrated that, in ductile reinforced concrete (RC) moment-resisting frames designed based on current codes (to say nothing of older non-ductile frames), the joint zones are in fact not rigid, but rather undergo significant shear deformations that contribute greatly to global drift. Therefore, the "rigid joint" assumption may result in misinterpretation of the global performance characteristics of frames and could consequently lead to miscalculation of strength and ductility demands on constituent frame members. The primary objective of this paper is to propose a rational method for estimating the hysteretic joint shear behavior of RC connections and for incorporating this behavior into frame analysis. The authors tested four RC edge beam-column-slab connection subassemblies subjected to earthquake-type lateral loading; hysteretic joint shear behavior is investigated based on these tests and other laboratory tests reported in the literature. An analytical scheme employing the modified compression field theory (MCFT) is developed to approximate joint shear stress vs. joint shear strain response. A connection model capable of explicitly considering hysteretic joint shear behavior is then formulated for nonlinear structural analysis. In the model, a joint is represented by rigid elements located along the joint edges and nonlinear rotational springs embedded in one of the four hinges linking adjacent rigid elements. The connection model is able to well represent the experimental hysteretic joint shear behavior and overall load-displacement response of connection subassemblies.
