This research suggested the mathematical model (forward kinematics method) to provide the reference points of driver space more easily and accurately in designing the package layout of vehicle interiors. For this purpose, the lengths of body segments of drivers and various joint angles occurred while were used. The length data between joints for the mathematical model were extracted from $SAFEWORK^{\circed{R}}$ as well as 95th percentile male and 5th percentile female body dimensions were utilized. In addition, the angles of body segments were applied on its diverse values within proper ranges in order to compare them each other. the mathematical model in this study was based on the concept of converting polar coordinate system to Cartesian coordinate system so that reference points of driver space were acquired in Cartesian coordinate system after using the segment lengths of drivers and the joint angles of driving postures as an input of polar coordinate system. It is expected that reference points of driver space obtained from this research are helpful to the study on package layout that is appropriate for physical characteristics of drivers.
This paper presents a post-processing algorithm for 5-axis machines with three rotary axes (3R-2L type). 5-axis machining needs the postprocessor for converting cutter location (CL) data to machine control (NC) data. The existing methods for post-processing use inverse kinematics equations from for-ward kinematics. However in case of 5-axis machines with three rotary axes, the inverse kinematics equations are not induced directly since the forward kinematics equations are non-linear. In order to get the joint values from the forward kinematics equations, previous algorithms use numerical method for the post-processing, which needs searching algorithms with computation time and may result in fail. This paper proposes a geometric method for the post-processing of 3 rotary type 5-axis machines. Our algorithm has three advantages: first, it does not need establishing forward kinematics equations. Second, it is reliable method that eliminates any numerical methods for the inverse kinematics, resulting in the exact solution. Finally, the proposed algorithm can also be applied to 2R-3L type of 5-axis machines.
In this paper, we present an inverse kinematics of a 7-dof Anthropomorphic robot arm using conformal geometric algebra. The inverse kinematics of a 7-dof Anthropomorphic robot arm using CGA can be computed in an easy way. The geometrically intuitive operations of CGA make it easy to compute the joint angles of a 7-dof Anthropomorphic robot arm which need to be set in order for the robot to reach its goal or the positions of a redundant robot arm's end-effector. In order to choose the best solution of the elbow position at an inverse kinematics, optimization techniques have been proposed to minimize an objective function while satisfying the euler-lagrange equation.
A man model is a useful design tool for the evaluation of man machine systems and products. An arm reach trajectory prediction for such a model will be specifically useful to present human activities and, consequently, could increase the accuracy and reality of the evaluation. In this study, a three-dimensional reach trajectory prediction model was developed using an inverse kinematics technique. The upper body was modeled as a four link open kinematic chain with seven degrees of freedom. The Resolved Motion Method used for the robot kinematics problem was used to predict the joint movements. The cost function of the perceived discomfort developed using the central composite design was also used as a performance function. This model predicts the posture by moving the joints to minimize the discomfort on the constraint of the end effector velocity directed to a target point. The results of the pairwise t-test showed that all the joint coordinates except the shoulder joint's showed statistically no differences at .alpha. = 0.01. The reach trajectory prediction model developed in this study was found to accurately simulate human arm reach trajectory and the model will help understand the human arm reach movement.
Human like robot arm posture for grasping by considering the shape of the target object is quite a challenge in the field of robotics. In this paper, an optimized grasp posture with respect to the shape of the object considering the wrist joint angle and elbow elevation angle, in order to verify that the grasp posture is human like has been proposed. Given a target object, the candidates for grasp are computed by the method described in this paper. For each candidate, the closed loop inverse kinematics has been solved for the corresponding hand position and orientation. From the obtained joint angles through inverse kinematics, the elbow elevation angle has been computed and compared with the elbow elevation angle obtained through human movement data by the characteristic equation. After considering all the candidates, the hand position and orientation with minimum wrist joint and difference in elbow elevation angles has been utilized as the optimized grasp posture. Simulation results are presented.
Biomechanics is an important scientific foundation of physical therapy and is used to relate kinematics, kinetics, statics and dynamics for comprehencing human movement. The knee is well studied for demonstrating biomechanical analyses of joint because of its simplicity. The purposes of this study were 1)to provide categories and concepts of biomechanics, 2) to apply these concepts to knee movement involving daily living and gait, and 3) to review current and preceeding researches about biomechanics of knee. Thus, physical therapiestes in clinic may be helped understand of movement which includes considerations of description and production related force, moment and power.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate changes in the lower extremity kinematics of subjects with dynamic knee valgus after we applied non-elastic tape while they performed overhead squat. Methods: Twenty-five subjects (12 females, 13 males) with dynamic knee valgus participated in this study. Hip and knee joint kinematics and medial knee displacement were measured during overhead squat with and without hip correction taping. Results: Hip joint internal rotation, knee valgus, and medial knee displacement were significantly lower during overhead squat with hip correction taping than without hip correction taping, but there was no significant difference in hip joint flexion and abduction. Conclusion: Hip joint correction using non-elastic taping is recommended to subjects with dynamic knee valgus to improve their lower extremity movement and alignment during overhead squat.
The purposes of this study to provide quantitative data in necessary to advance techniques kinematic analysis of Cucarachas which is an action of Rumba. Then, this study is performed on 5 female players who have won within the third prize at a national athletic meeting. When whole foot reached to floor, Displacement of right-left hip joint (until $E1{\sim}E3$ average moved 15.15cm)is found at right-left direction since the hip joint is turned to right back. On the other side, large displacement is shown because Rumba Cucaracha Movement is expressed by maximum shift of hip joint to right and left direction. Displacement of right hip joint(E3$57.40{\pm}7.46$) is found in front and in rear direction since hip joint is moved in rear and in front to turn the hip joint. It may be stated that this is ideal displacement expressed by movement of whole body with artistic poise and presentation because role of hip joint is very important in technical and artistic side. Angle of right shoulder joint E2($105.44{\pm}9.64$) is got wider. It may be stated that player shifts up and abduct elbow joint to right since center of gravity of player is exceedingly shifted to right in this motion of Cucarachas. On the other hand, since this motion is abducted right elbow and shrunk external abdominal oblique to him center of body to left front of hip joint, the angle becomes narrow. It is shown that angle of knee in right knee joint E4($75.44{\pm}2.61$) is large since right leg and hip joint is turned by foot using reaction of ground and so center of body is shifted to left. Large angle of ankle E4($134.40{\pm}10.50$) in Cucaracha Movement is shown by the action of twist force using narrow part of foot and compression force against ground with adduction speed of arm. The various kinematic analyses associated with motions of dance sport have not been sufficiently peformed so far, and thus a number of research projects for dance sport should be proposed and performed to be continuous.
A robot manipulator and an obstacle are described mathematically in joint space, with the mathematical representation for the collision between the robot manipulator and the obstacle. Using these descriptions, the robot motion planning problem is formulated which can be used to avoide a time varying obstacle. To solve the problem, the constraints on motion planning are discretized in joint space. An analytical method is proposed for planning the motion in joint space from a given starting point to the goal point. It is found that solving the inverse kinematics problem is not necessary to get the control input to the joint motion controller for collision avoidance.
