Manipulation of the mouse genome by activating or inactivating the gene has contributed to the understanding of the function of the gene in the subset of cells during embryonic development or postnatal period of life. Most of all, gene targeting, which largely depends on the availability of mouse embryonic stem (ES) cells, is the milestone of development of animal models for human disease. Recombinase-mediated genome modification (Cre-LoxP and Flp-Frt etc) and the ligand-dependent regulation system, more accurate and elaborate manipulation tools, have been successfully developed and applied to dissect the mechanisms governing complex biological processes and to understand the role of protein in temporal-and spatial aspects of development. As technologies concerning refined manipulation of mouse genome are developed, they are expected to open new opportunities to better understand the diverse in vivo functions of genes.

The purpose of this research was to apply and conduct a class with Gordon’s Creative Problem Solving Method(Synectics) to the area of ’human development and family relations’among male students in a jr. high school. Subject matters which were appropriate for applying Gordon’s Creative Problem Solving method were selected from ’human development and family relations’area, with problem circumstances set to reflect to the highest degree the interests of individuals and families. An 8 hour teaching instructional guide was constructed with $\boxdr$strategy 1$\boxul$of Gordon’s Creative Problem Solving method in order to solve creatively the established problem. This was practically implied to 70 students(each class had 34 and 36 students respectively) in K middle school located in Seoul. The period of this application was for 3 months during March through May of 1999. The perception of this method was examined by the teachers and students through open-ended questions. The record of perception showed that 56 students out of 70(with no response from 5 students) through that the class done by the creativity problem solving method was good. The majority of reasons mentioned for the positive answers were ’being able to receive different thoughts which were unusual of daily life’. In addition the students who participated in the class were able to foster a joint experience which improved their understanding of relationships and sens of community. moreover students who did not do well n the class or were diffident were encouraged to participate which in result showed that there was even an internal effect.

The horticultural seed industry has made great progress in the last fifty years of its history after the independence of this country. The industry has accomplished self-sufficiency in major vegetable seeds and has even gained international competitive edge in certain crop seeds, particularly in hybrid cultivar development. However, the industry is facing a crisis at present coming from excessive competition among the domestic seed companies as well as the foreign currency crisis of the country. Several major seed companies have already been acquired by multinational corporations. Many people in the country as well as agriculturists are concerned about this situation. Although it is true that the industry is undergoing hard times, this crisis can be turned into a chance for making new progress depending on the joint efforts of the groups responsible, i.e., private companies, public institutions, and policy makers. Therefore, we have to turn this crisis into an opportunity for self-reform and progress. We should not be discouraged or give up. We Propose some ideas for the Progress of the seed industry. Public institutions and policy makers should do such things in cooperation as 1) training human resources for future breeders, 2) securing a wide range of genetic resources and improvement of the management system, 3) basic science research including biotechnology, 4) releasing breeding stocks from germplasm enhancement through use of exotic accessions, 5) support for breeding region- or use-specific cultivars, and 6) collection of foreign agricultural information for breeding cultivars for overseas markets. Eventually the responsible group for the final development of commercial cultivars, production, sales and management is private companies. Therefore, private companies also should have to do their best to develop competitive cultivars with a missionary spirit and endeavor for both domestic and overseas markets in cooperation with public institutions. Management based on competition, professionalism and rationalism is also urged. We are going to conclude with optimism that we can make a new vault of progress once the private and public sectors closely cooperate for the development of Korean horticultural seed industry by overcoming this crisis.

One of the future weapon systems is the individual smart weapon which has a structure mounted on the forearm of soldiers. The structure may cause injuries or affect the accuracy of fire due to its impact on joints when shooting. This paper proposes human-impact interaction modeling and a verification methodology in order to estimate the impact of fire applied to the forearm. For this purpose, a human musculoskeletal model was constructed and the joints' behavior in various shooting positions was simulated. In order to verify the simulation results, an impact testing device substituting the smart weapon was made and the experiment was performed on a real human body. This paper compares the simulation results performed under various impact conditions and the experimental values in terms of accuracy and introduces methods to complement them. The results of the study are expected to be a basis for a reliable human-impact interaction modeling, and smart individual weapon development.
This study provides a model of inter-Korean economic cooperation suggesting that economic cooperation should be centered on industrial cooperation. As an independent economic zone, the two Koreas will go through a gradual and functional process of cooperation. Also, economic convergence through 'openness and integration' of both markets is a pre-requisite of successful economic integration on the Korean peninsula. This success of the process requires industrialization of North Korea. This study suggests a model of 'the Corea Industrial Development Community on the Korean Peninsula. It aims to support industrialization of the North Korean economy as well as promotion of South Korea's SME competitiveness. It would help meet the demand for improvement of living conditions of North Korean people. Main policy measures includes: 1) co-effort to develop North Korea's provincial industrial zones, 2) upgrading North Korea's 'Jangmadang' into a highly efficient distribution market. Finally, through the construction of the Joint Industrial Development Zone, it is necessary to create a production sharing module for both Korea's industries.
In this paper we discuss spent fuel management options in the Republic of Korea (ROK) from two interrelated perspectives: Centralized dry cask storage and spent fuel pyroprocessing and burning in sodium fast reactors (SFRs). We argue that the ROK will run out of space for at-reactors spent fuel storage by about the year 2030 and will thus need to transition centralized dry cask storage. Pyroprocessing plant capacity, even if approved and successfully licensed and constructed by that time, will not suffice to handle all the spent fuel discharged annually. Hence centralized dry cask storage will be required even if the pyroprocessing option is successfully developed by 2030. Pyroprocessing is but an enabling technology on the path leading to fissile material recycling and burning in future SFRs. In this regard we discuss two SFR options under development in the U.S.: the Super Prism and the Travelling Wave Reactor (TWR). We note that the U.S. is further along in reactor development than the ROK. The ROK though has acquired more experience, recently in investigating fuel recycling options for SFRs. We thus call for two complementary joint R&D project to be conducted by U.S. and ROK scientists. One leading to the development of a demonstration centralized away-fromreactors spent fuel storage facility. The other involve further R&D on a combined SFR-fuel cycle complex based on the reactor and fuel cycle options discussed in the paper.

The purpose of this study is to examine the trouble of recruitment and research and development of ICT SMEs. Recently, many ICT SMEs have emerged for selling products and services using the technology of the 4th industrial revolution. However, SMEs have relatively deficient resources compared to large companies, the difficulty of maintenance or growth of human resources and intangible resources. This research methodology organized the four stages of the analysis process. The first analysis is the association rules for human resource recruitment. The second analysis is the difficulty of hiring jobs and experienced workers by each stage of company growth. The third analysis is a regression analysis of the trouble of R&D activity. The last analysis is an analysis of association rules on the difficulties of management activities by company growth. As the research result, the first analysis has shown a difference in favored human resources by the ICT industry. The second analysis also showed factor differences in job recruitment difficulties for each stage of corporate growth. In the third analysis, the operation of research institutes in ICT SMEs is influenced by industry type, corporate certification, corporate growth stage, self-technology development, joint technology development, technology transfer, and commercialization. As the last analysis, ICT SMEs showed factor differences in difficulties in management activities by stage of corporate growth. This study contributed empirically emphasizing the troubling phenomenon of human resources and R&D necessary for the growth of ICT SMEs. As a theoretical implication, this research contributed to the research-area expansion of management information using big-data technologies. In particular, this research practically suggests the differentiated direction of recruitment and R&D by ICT SMEs based on industry and each stage of company growth through the association rules of big data.

In modern society, digital lifestyles are spreading to minimize contact with people and to receive contactless information. The spread trend has established an unmanned distribution system in which transactions through contactless technologies such as kiosks and chatbots are activated in face-to-face transactions with sellers and consumers. In order to streamline logistics supply worldwide, digital new deal based joint logistics hubs, unmanned courier storage platforms, and fresh logistics based last mile services have been developed into unmanned logistics systems, focusing on the intelligent logistics system automation process. Unmanned courier storage system installed in urban areas and home to daily logistics where volume is concentrated are provided with fresh logistics services through cold chain and receiving freights in contactless environments. Development is also underway to minimize safety accidents caused by courier services, such as managing various information based on the integrated control system. This paper defines the concept of integrated operation for the development of a platform for contactless unmanned courier storage device developed into next-generation logistics system. In addition, we intend to develop systems engineering-based output for deriving safety requirements and specifications by identifying risk sources that may occur in the operational scenario. Therefore, the goal is to establish a foundation for safety and reliability between interfaces of logistics systems to be installed in apartment and subway station environments that want to provide unmanned logistics services to various consumers.
Water quality models are scientific tools that simulate and interpret the relationship between physical, chemical and biological reactions to external pollutant loads in water systems. They are actively used as a key technology in environmental water management. With recent advances in computational power, water quality modeling technology has evolved into a coupled three-dimensional modeling of hydrodynamics, water quality, and ecological inputs. However, there is uncertainty in the simulated results due to the increasing model complexity, knowledge gaps in simulating complex aquatic ecosystem, and the distrust of stakeholders due to nontransparent modeling processes. These issues have become difficult obstacles for the practical use of water quality models in the water management decision process. The objectives of this paper were to review the theoretical background, needs, and development status of water quality modeling technology. Additionally, we present the potential future directions of water quality modeling technology as a scientific tool for national environmental water management. The main development directions can be summarized as follows: quantification of parameter sensitivities and model uncertainty, acquisition and use of high frequency and high resolution data based on IoT sensor technology, conjunctive use of mechanistic models and data-driven models, and securing transparency in the water quality modeling process. These advances in the field of water quality modeling warrant joint research with modeling experts, statisticians, and ecologists, combined with active communication between policy makers and stakeholders.
Although social economy organizations have achieved quantitative growth in various types and fields, they have been mainly promoted by the government, and there is still room for qualitative improvement, such as institutional reorganization, support systems and support methods, compared to advanced countries. In this study, the problems of social economy organizations, the current status and actual analysis of social economy organizations, the policy delivery system, obstacles to the development of social economy organizations, and problems of activation, etc. were reviewed through previous studies. Through this, policy directions and tasks for revitalization of future social economy organizations were presented. As a result, the policy direction for revitalization of social economy organizations requires private and local government initiatives, expansion of fields, customized support for the creation of a growth ecosystem, and various linkage cooperation. Organizational capacity development and education, reinforcement of various linkage cooperation systems, creation of an investment ecosystem, and joint market development are necessary.
