  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of flexural strength ratio(Mr=$\Sigma$Mc/$\Sigma$Mb) with High-Strength Concrete up to 800Kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$. Five specimens were tested under reversed cyclic loadings. The primary variables were flexural strength ratio of the beam-column, compressive strength of concrete and loading patterns. The results showed that the failure at the beam-column joint in case of high strength concrete was severe more than in case of normal strength concrete when flexural strength ratio 1.4. Thus the part for low limit of flexural strength ratio(Mr=1.4) should be revised for high strengthconcrete.

  • In this study, we would like to study on the application of roof exposure waterproofing method of joint stability through shiplap rubberized asphalt color sheet to complement problem of fracture, exfoliation and water leakage by existing roof exposure sheet waterproofing material joint weakness. Accordingly, examined basis performance and stability for joint that shiplap rubberized asphalt color sheet through test of that tensile strength, bonding strength, water permeability after bonding, peel resistance after bonding, lengthen resistance after bonding and hang resistance after bonding. The results of this study, waterproofing method to using shiplap rubberized asphalt color sheet is judged to solved fracture, exfoliation and water leakage problems happened in joint by problem was joint of exposure sheet by minimizing gap of joint being integration by shiplap.

  • The objective of this work is to develop a criterion for predicting the failure strength of the joints bonded by ductile adhesives. To obtain a criterion, first, fracture tests were carried out for T-peel joint and Single-lap joint with widely differing joints geometries. Then using the fracture loads obtained at tests, the finite element analysis were performed, in which the stresses in the adhesive bonds were calculated in great detail. After examining four epoxy adhesives, it is concluded that the fracture of adhesively bonded joint occurs when the maximum of the ratio of the mean to effective stresses exceeds a constant value which can be determined from analysis and test for each adhesive.

  • As a newly structural system, RCS composite system has been researched last two decades. However mechanism of exterior T-type joint for RCS composite system is not well known. This research is focus on the exterior T-type joint for RCS composite system. Specimens are designed by the ASCE guideline, tested and compared with the inner RCS joint. Test variables include face bearing plate(FBP), extended face bearing plate(E-FBP) and U-bar. The tests indicate that the strength of exterior T-type joint is higher than that of the guideline by ASCE. The U-bar has a significant effect on the joint strength and absorbing the strain energy.

  • We fabricated two HTS closed coils by using resistive-joint method and the joint resistance of the coil was estimated by field decay technique at 77 K. In addition, we used the Runge-kutta method for the numerical analysis to estimate the decay properties. The joint resistances were evaluated as a function of critical current of HTS closed coil and external field strength of excitation coil. It was observed that joint resistance was independent of critical current and external field strength. It was estimated that joint resistance was 8.0$\times$10$^{-9}$ $\Omega$ to 11.9$\times$10$^{-9}$ $\Omega$ for coils of contact length for 7 cm.

  • Precast deck joints have problems due to the occurrence of additional processes at construction sites, the complexity of construction, and the lack of design and construction standards for precast deck joints. To solve these, this study proposes a new precast deck joint that uses an Ultra-High-Performance Fiber-reinforced Cement Composite (UHPFRCC) filling material containing steel fibers and a straight rebar joint. In addition, the structural performance of the proposed joint, based on various parameters, was compared to that of existing precast deck joints, and the proposed joint showed equivalent strength and ductility. Therefore, the proposed joint can solve construction site problems by replacing the existing ones. The influence of various variables is expected to provide basic data on the design and construction guidelines for the precast deck joints.

  • Adhesive-bonded joints are widely used in the industry. Recently, applications of adhesive bonding joints have been increased extensively in automobile and aircraft industry. The strength of adhesive joints is influenced by the surface roughness, adhesive shape, stress distribution, and etc. However, the magnitude of the influence has not yet been clarified because of the complexity of the phenomena. In this study, as the fundamental research of adhesive bonding joints, the effects of adhesive shape and loading speed on bonding strength properties and durability of aluminum to polycarbonate single-lap joints were studied. To evaluate the effect of adhesive shape, several modified shapes were used, and loading speeds were varied from 0.05 to 5mm/min. As a result, the load distribution showed a brittle fracture tendency. The trigonal edged single lap and bevelled lap joints showed the higher strength than the plain single lap, trigonal single lap, joggle lap and double lap joints in same adhesive area. The fractures of trigonal single lap and trigonal edged single lap joints that had the higher strength level were shown as the mixture type of the cohesive and interfacial-failure, mostly joggle lap joints that had the lower strength level were shown as the adhesive-failure.

  • A existing design method of PSC girder bridges, according to total service loads, stress required tendon force at a time. Because this design method increases beam depth, design of long span is difficult. However, As UC girder stressing at difficult loading stages reduces sectional depth of PSC girder, both design and operation of long span bridges is possible. so, this study analyzes the effect of design parameter (Girder Strength, Girder Spacing, Span Length, Joint Strength) on the beam depth of IPC girder continuous bridges, and shows sectional depth of UC girder for design of long span bridges. According to analysis, when a continuous bridges of same length span is at strength of joint over strength of girder of 600kg/$cm^{2}$, a change of beam depth is observed and when a continuous bridges of different span length is at strength of joint below strength of girder of 600kg/$cm^{2}$, a change of beam depth is observed. In two case, a change of beam depth is mostly observed over strength of girder of 350kg/$cm^{2}$ according to analysis of deflection data, a continuous bridges of IPC girder is nearly satisfied.

  • Spot welding is very important and useful technology in fabrication of an automobile body structure. Because fatigue strength of the spot welding point is however considerably lower than parent metal due to stress concentration at the nugget edge, accurate stress analysis and fatigue stength evaluation of spot welded lap joint are very important to valuate the reliability and durability of automobile body structure and to establish a criterion of long life fatigue design. Many invetigators have studied so far onsystematic fatigue strength evaluation with various methods. It is however necessary to verify their reliability and abailability for practical application to fatigue design of spot welded structure, Thus,in this study, fatigue strength evaluation methods of spot welded lap joint. which are the maximum principal stress method. the fracture and availability with the Weibull probability distribution. From the results, it was found that reliability and availability withe the Weibull probaility distribution. From the results, it was found that reliability and availability of the suggest fatigue strength estimation methods methods were higher than $\Delta$P-$N_f$ relation. However, among them , reliability of the maximum pricipal stress method was the highest.

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of testing posture and shoulder position on grip strength. The subjects were one hundred volunteers of Shinsung College (50 males and 50 females), ages from 20 to 27 years(mean age of 22.1 years). This study was carried out from september 7 to setember 10, 1998. The data were analyzed by mean and deviation, unpaired t-test, paired t-test, one way ANOVA and correlation. These results were obtained as follows; 1. Comparison on grip strength by left and right hand, there was a significant difference in standing and sitting position (p<0.05). 2. Comparison on grip strength between male and female, there was a significant difference in standing and sitting position (p<0.05). 3. One-way ANOVA on grip strength according to shoulder joint angle, there was a no significant difference in standing and sitting position (p>0.05). 4. Correlation on grip strength by sitting verus standing, there was a very significantly difference (p<0.01).
