Joint Aspect Inspecting System Using Image Processing (영상처리를 통한 접합면 검사 시스템)

  • In this paper, we present the new method for joint aspect inspecting system. We use the image processing and laser maker for light source. We can find the matrial joint status through processing the line pattern which is made by laser maker. To get the line pattern, in first, we did the preprocess of threshold. If the shape of line had over two segments, then the joint status is abnormal. We show our system efficency by experiment on tire facility.

  • Joint reflects the structure of the earth. And in many cases joints controls the developments of stream directions. In this studying area three joint sets are represented. One is concentrated to the north and the other is deviated $50^{circ}-60^{circ}$ from north to east and west. It is uncertain that the master joint set is a fault line, but the presence of the structural line is evident from the joint strike frequency. The Spearman's $\Upsilon$ between joint patterns and the stream directions is about 0.73.

  • In case of Lighting occurs in Domestic combined distribution line, normally the voltage for the neutral line increase dramatically. General connection for underground cable is bundled common earth type so the lightning over voltage increase at the concentric-neutral line is not big enough to give impact on cable sheath. But in case of Non bundled common earth type it is necessary to analyze the phenomena on cable sheath caused by lightening overvoltage. Especially pole and cable joint are the core factor to consider. In this paper concrete pole and cable joint were evaluated in case of Non bundled common earth type combined distribution Line. EMTP simulation model has been designed and several case study were made. Also several experimental test were made to verify the simulation result.

  • Approximation of a Cartesian straight line motion with linear interpolation in the joint space has many desirable advantages and applications. But inappropriate determination of the corresponding subtravelling and transition times makes such joint-trajectories violate the input torque/force constraints. An approach that can overcome this difficult and yield the joint trajectories utilizing the allowable maximum input torque/force is established in this paper. The effectiveness of these results is demonstrated by using a three-joint revolute manipulator.

Articular Eminence Morphology of Temporomandibular Joint in Young Korean Adults

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to analyse and evaluate the morphology of the articular eminence of temporomandibular joint in young Korean adults using cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT). Methods: One hundred seventy-one subjects (59 males, 112 females) in the 20s were examined using CBCT. Width and height of articular eminence, top-roof line angle, best-fit line angle, joint space were measured. For the group comparisons, independent t-test was used with the level of significance established at $p{\leq}0.05$. Results: In asymptomatic young Korean adults, average eminence width was $9.49{\pm}1.62mm$ in males and $9.33{\pm}1.36mm$ in females. Average eminence height was $7.23{\pm}1.81mm$ in males and $6.82{\pm}1.31mm$ in females. Average eminence inclination of measured by top-roof line angle was $37.09^{\circ}{\pm}7.74^{\circ}$ in males and $36.12^{\circ}{\pm}5.65^{\circ}$ in females. Average eminence inclination measured by best-fit line angle was $50.79^{\circ}{\pm}11.49^{\circ}$ in males and $48.43^{\circ}{\pm}9.05^{\circ}$ in females. Average joint space was $3.03{\pm}0.67mm$ in males and $2.63{\pm}0.68mm$ in females. Conclusions: Increasing age did not affect the morphology of the articular eminence in asymptomatic young Korean adults. Males had slightly larger eminence width, height, top-roof line angle, best-fit line angle and joint space, but no statistical significance (p>0.05) was observed only in the joint space (p=0.001). There was no side-to-side difference in morphology (p>0.05).

Robust Fault-Tolerant Control for a Robot System Anticipating Joint Failures in the Presence of Uncertainties (불확실성의 존재에서 관절 고장을 가지는 로봇 시스템에 대한 강인한 내고장 제어)

  • This paper proposes a robust fault-tolerant control framework for robot manipulators to maintain the required performance and achieve task completion in the presence of both partial joint failures and complete joint failures and uncertainties. In the case of a complete joint failure or free-swinging joint failure causing the complete loss of torque on a joint, a fully-actuated robot manipulator can be viewed as an underactuated robot manipulator. To detect and identify a complete actuator failure, an on-line fault detection operation is also presented. The proposed fault-tolerant control system contains a robust adaptive controller overcoming partial joint failures based on robust adaptive control methodology, an on-line fault detector detecting and identifying complete joint failures, and a robust adaptive controller overcoming partial and complete joint failures, and so eventually it can face and overcome joint failures and uncertainties. Numerical simulations are conducted to validate the proposed robust fault-tolerant control scheme.

  • This study was for mathematical method of calculating the joint reaction force during on single - leg stance on a normal and hemiplegic patients. It is important to compare the distance of the line of gravity from the hip joint on hemiplegic patients with this on normal in this study. In earlier studies, there is no include the concept about biomechanical analysis on the shin of line of gravity of hemiplegic patients. Though this concept, we found the compensation make the line of gravity closer to the supporting hip joint and the trunk was toward the side of paralysis. The result of the Joint reaction force on hemiplegic patients is found to be approximately $31.33\%$ in the unaffected side by biomechanical analysis.

  • Up to now, practical engineers applying simplicity value of rockfall block weight suggested in design manual without considering in-situ rockfall block weight which reflect joint characteristics. However, the size of rockfall block varies with joint spacing of discontinuities and influences over rockfall analysis results. In this paper, we estimate realistic rockfall block weight distribution using statistical invariances of joint spacing derived from scan-line survey result. And, we study whether this distribution is applicable in practical rockfall analysis directly. As the results of this study, rockfall analysis results that using rockfall block weight distribution estimated from scan-line survey show resonable and realistic outcomes.

  • The concept design of joint part between propellant tank and feeding line for launch vehicle has been performed with the case study of oversea launch vehicles. we carried out, for the several configurations, numerical flow analyses to find the joint configuration which promises high flow uniformity at the outlet. There were a little difference in the numerical results, because the length of feeding lines are sufficiently long to stabilize the flow field.
