  • Consider a job shop that is modelled as an open queueing network of the Jackson(l957) type. All work stations in the shop have the same number of parallel servers. Two problems are studied : the loading of stations and the assignment of servers, which are represented by loading and assingment vectors, respectively. Ma jorization and arrangement orderings are established to order, respectively, the loading and the assignment vectors. It is shown that reducing the loading vector under ma jorizat ion or increasing the assignment vector under arrangement ordering will reduce the congestion in the shop in terms of reducing the total number of jobs(in the sense of likelihood ratio ordering), the maximum queue length(in the sense of stochastic ordering), and the queue-length vector( in the sense of stochastic majorization). The results can be used to supprot production planning in certain job shops, and to aid the desing of storage capacity. • Workers in logistics centers also are exposed to serious musculoskeletal disorders the same as workers in general manufacturing due to operating forklifts and other labor duties. The frequency of these work related injuries decreases, workers' job satisfaction In addition, it causes many employees questioning a job change, which is regarded as the primary factor which drops the productivity. In this paper, we conducted a survey ti perceive the correlation between work related injuries in the fields of distribution centers and job satisfaction. Furthermore we made statistical analysis with our findings. The results of our analysis showed that the frequency of work related injuries due to workers' repetitive loading and unloading work is the primary factor which lowers job satisfaction. In order to improve aforementioned problem we propose first of all loading and unloading on pallet basis, second of all automation and computerization of logistics systems, and third of all ensurinf sufficient break time.

  • FMS operating system consists of several subsystems in general. i.e. tool grouping subsystem. tool/job assignment subsystem. job dispatching subsystem, and papers dealing with each subsystem were published by many researchers [1], [4], [6], [8], [9], [10], [11], [12], [13], [14], [15], [16]. This paper mainly discusses about tool/job assignment subsystem as a job loading procedure. that occupies the kernel position of overall FMS operating system. Its performance is evaluated through simulation experiments of an integrated operating system under a typical FMS hardware configuration implemented in many machining factories, which is composed of the proposed procedure as well as a job dispatching procedure including several heuristic dispatching rules in terms of rule-base.

  • This article describes advanced clover algorithm for effective loading and unloading of containers using stackers position data in a yard. The job scheduling must rely on job assign of stackers and position data processing to dynamically allocate stackers, and maintain multiple job processing, all based on task requirements. A stacker tracking using GPS and GIS is an essential capability and is used as yard loading and unloading process improvement for yard management. After estimating position of stackers in a yard the raper describes advanced clover algorithm and other techniques for monitoring loading and unloading of individual containers as well as combinatorial stacker load balancing problems such as estimating load of each stackers. Results from simulations and experimental implementations have demonstrated that the suggested approaches are efficient in stacker management.

  • This study is concerned with the loading problems in flexible manufacturing system(FMS). The loading problem in FMS is a complex one, when the number of machine and job is increased. It may be time-consuming and even impossible to achieve an optimal solution about this problem mathematically. Thus, a heuristic method is recommended in order to gain near-optimal solutions in a practically acceptable time. A new loading algorithm is developed with a multi-criterion objective of considering the workload unbalance, and maximizing the machine utilization, throughput for critical resources such as the number of tool slots and the number of working hours in a scheduling period and so on. The results of SAS analysis indicated that true average throughput of proposed heuristic loading statistically exceeds that of Shanker and Srinivasulus loading algorithm at the significance level of 0.1.

  • This paper proposes the OOPP(Optimized Online Portfolio Platform) design for the job seekers to search for the job competency necessary for employment and to write and manage portfolio online efficiently. The OOPP consists of three modules. First, JDCM(Job Data Collection Module) stores the help-wanted advertisements of job information sites in a spreadsheet. Second, CSM(Competency Statistical Model) classifies core competencies for each job by text-mining the collected help-wanted ads. Third, OBBM(Optimize Browser Behavior Module) makes users to look up data rapidly by improving the processing speed of a browser. In addition, The OBBM consists of the PSES(Parallel Search Engine Sub-Module) optimizing the computation of a Search Engine and the OILS(Optimized Image Loading Sub-Module) optimizing the loading of image text, etc. The performance analysis of the CSM shows that there is little difference in accuracy between the CSM and the actual advertisement because its data accuracy is 99.4~100%. If Browser optimization is done by using the OBBM, working time is reduced by about 68.37%. Therefore, the OOPP makes users look up the analyzed result in the web page rapidly by analyzing the help-wanted ads. of job information sites accurately.

  • This paper presents two analytical approaches to determine the vehicle fleet size for container shuttle service. The shuttle service can be defined as the repetitive travel between the designated places during working period. In the first approach, the transportation model is adopted in order to determine the number of vehicles required. Its advantages and disadvantages in practical application are also discussed. In the second approach, a logical network which is oriented on job is transformed from a physical network which is focused on demand site. Nodes on the logical network represent jobs which include loaded travel, loading and unloading and arcs represent empty travel for the next jobs which include loaded travel, loading and unloading and arcs represent empty travel for the next job. Then a mathematical formulation is constructed similar to the multiple traveling salesman problem (TSP). A solution procedure is carried out based on the well-known insertion heuristic with the real world data.

  • Purpose: We were to identify the differences of "Job stress" and "Depression scores" in the divided groups by self-efficacy. And the factors affecting Depression scores were analyzed. Method: This study was conducted from July 2006 to September 2006. Collected 295 surveys were used in this study among 311 surveys since 16 surveys offered insufficient data. SPSS for Windows 10.0 was used to analyse the data. Result: We identified the factors of "Occupational climate", "Job control", "Job demand" as affecting the depression scores in the lower self-efficacy group by the multi-variables statistical analysis. And this statistical model had 12.5% explainable power. Also, the factors of "Occupational climate" were identified as affecting the depression scores in the higher self-efficacy group. And the statistical model had 9.0% explainable power. Conclusion: In the lower self-efficacy group, the scores of the job stress and depression were significantly higher. Therefore, in the lower self-efficacy group, the self-efficacy promotion programs should be needed for prevention of the related occupational diseases. The factors related job stress were identified as affecting the depression scores in both lower and higher self-efficacy groups. Therefore, job stress management program should be prepared for stress loading workers.

  • The package loading process of the lumbering industry is an operation that after a pair of workers bind three or six lumbers into one unit and cut both ends of the lumbers, transports the weight cargo of 30-50kg by one meter, pack and load at a height of 1.2 meters. This package loading process causes lots of noise and wood dust when workers carry out the heavy work as the above. Therefore we developed the monolithic both ends cutting package loading equipment in order to prevent from getting musculoskeletal disease. An loading bar working system of this equipment is improved from pneumatic pressure system to oil pressure system, furnished the newly designed flow dividers, and developed the new system that a both end array is loaded identically. Also we developed the safety equipment of loading bar in order to prevent workers mistake and overload from malfunction during the package loading process. The main cause of job evasion on working place could be solved by preventing the musculoskeletal disease and improving the working environments.
