Purpose: This study was conducted to examine the factors associated with work related injuries of nurses in small and medium sized hospitals. Method: A cross-sectional survey was conducted with nurses in eight hospitals from October 2007 to January 2008. A questionnaire was designed to collect information on nurses' work related injuries, and individual and job related characteristics. The response rate was 65.1%. Data from 294 nurses were analyzed. Multiple logistic regression analysis was performed to determine factors associated with work related injuries. Result: Of the 294 nurses, 19.1% (n=56) responded as having at least one injury during their job performance. The logistic regression analysis revealed that the significant factors influencing work related injuries were job satisfaction, stress recognition, and hospital's location. Nurses with a higher job satisfaction were less likely to experience work related injuries (OR=0.58). Nurses with a higher stress recognition (OR=2.57) and those working at hospitals in metropolitan cities (OR=3.28) were more likely to experience work related injuries. Conclusions: The result of this study indicated that a substantial proportion of nurses in small and medium sized hospitals had experienced injuries related to nursing job. Interventions to prevent work related injuries among nurses should take into account the job satisfaction, stress recognition, and hospital characteristics.

This study seeks to verify the effect size of the variables relating to job satisfaction through a meta-analysis focusing on previous papers over the last 20 years that have examined the job satisfaction of kindergarten teachers and verified the trend by publication year through a meta-regression analysis. The study results are as follows. First, the results demonstrated that the total effect size of the variables relating to kindergarten teachers was large. Second, the organization's internal variable and organization's external variable groups, except for the individual characteristics variable group, showed a large effect size at similar levels. Third, the status of teachers in the individual characteristics variable group showed a meaningfully large effect size and the interpersonal relationship variable in organization's internal variable group showed a relatively larger effect size than the organizational climate variable did. Finally, the results of the verification of the trend by publication year showed that job satisfaction increased for all variables, except for the individual characteristics variable in more recent publications. This study highlights the imperative of making every effort to improve the organization's internal and external environment. In particular, measures to reduce job stress and work load are required. Furthermore, the atmosphere that is devoted to the teaching profession and teacher efficacy is important.
Objective: This study examines the generational characteristics and job perceptions of early childhood teachers from Generations X, M, and Z. Methods: Seventeen teachers were selected based on their career and the types of childcare centers they worked in. Focus group interviews explored their job perceptions, teaching methods, career intentions, and strategies to attract future teachers. Results: The results revealed both positive and negative generational perceptions, with Generation X and M noted for diverse job experiences and Generation Z for digital skills. Individual differences were also observed. All generations reported low job satisfaction due to societal perceptions and environmental changes. Many teachers plan to change jobs. The study suggests utilizing generational strengths for peer support to enhance professional development. Conclusion/Implications: Furthermore, improvements in societal perception and treatment of childcare jobs are needed to attract future teachers. The findings suggest implications for enhanced intergenerational communication and collaboration in the childcare field.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify job stress experienced by head nurses of general hospitals. Methods: Data was collected from 10 head nurses with in-depth interviews about their actual experiences. The main questions were when, why, and from whom they get stress in the work field; how they are affected by the stressful situation; and how they cope with this stress. All the interviews were recorded and transcribed. The collected data was analyzed using a consistent comparative data analysis method. Results: Job stress of head nurse was formed by 3 axis; causes, reactions, and coping strategies in complicated situational context such as human relationship, culture of hospital, individual characteristics, social support. Conclusion: The results of this study yields very useful information for nursing mangers to identify, by stages, the demands of the head nurses in their role adaptation process. The findings of this study contributes to developing programs and supportive policies that palliates the head nurses' job stress.
This study identifies the impact of celebrity stylists' individual psychographic characteristics, including their lifestyle, and social characteristics, including person-environment fit on their job commitment and satisfaction. A survey was conducted with currently working celebrity stylists, and a total of 203 responses were analyzed using descriptive analysis, factor analysis, reliability test, and multiple regression analysis. The results of this study were as follows: 1) The results of the factor analysis and reliability test on celebrity stylists' lifestyle and person-environment fit clearly revealed factorial structures, respectively. 2) Regarding the results of the influences of celebrity stylists' lifestyle on their job commitment and satisfaction, respondents who had higher new information-oriented, success-oriented, and conservation-oriented, but lower outdoor activity-oriented lifestyle tended to show higher job commitment and role satisfaction of job satisfaction. 3) Respondents who had higher person-job fit, person-organization fit, person-celebrity fit, and person-coworker fit tended to demonstrate a higher level of job commitment and role satisfaction of job satisfaction. Both celebrity stylists' lifestyle and person-environment, which revealed to have a significant relationship to their job commitment and satisfaction, could be used as an index to evaluate potential employees' job attitudes for recruiting celebrity stylist.
Objectives : The purpose of this study is to identify relationships between turnover intention and variable factors among dental hygienists. Methods : Each factor of validity and reliability were investigated using factor analysis and Cronbach's ${\alpha}$. The hypothesis of the data was proven and analyzed using the pearson correlation, regression analysis, and analysis of variance (ANOVA). Results : The independent variables were based on self-efficacy, the dependent variables were based on job satisfaction. The results of the regression analysis were that self-efficacy is as high as job satisfaction. Independent variables based on self-efficacy and job satisfaction. The dependent variable is organizational commitment multiple regression analysis was used. The results showed that self-efficacy and job satisfaction are as high as organizational commitment. Independent variables based on organizational commitment. The dependent variable is the turnover-intention. Simple regression analysis showed that organizational commitment is as low as turnover-intention. Self-efficacy, job satisfaction and organizational commitment are different depending on individual traits and personal characteristics. Self-efficacy has been shown to have a positive relationship with job experiences, public work and turnover intention. Organizational commitment is also related with job experiences. However, there was no significant difference between job satisfaction, turnover intention and personal characteristics. Conclusions : According to the factor analysis of turnover intention, self-efficacy, job satisfaction, organizational commitment and turnover intention were correlated to each other. Self-efficacy, job satisfaction, and organizational commitment has a negative association with turnover intention.
Objectives: Stressors in nursing put high demands on cognitive control and, therefore, may increase the risk of cognitive failures that put patients at risk. Task-related stressors were expected to be positively associated with cognitive failure at work and job control was expected to be negatively associated with cognitive failure at work. Methods: Ninety-six registered nurses from 11 Swiss hospitals were investigated (89 women, 7 men, mean age = 36 years, standard deviation = 12 years, 80% supervisors, response rate 48%). A new German version of the Workplace Cognitive Failure Scale (WCFS) was employed to assess failure in memory function, failure in attention regulation, and failure in action exertion. In linear regression analyses, WCFS was related to work characteristics, neuroticism, and conscientiousness. Results: The German WCFS was valid and reliable. The factorial structure of the original WCF could be replicated. Multilevel regression task-related stressors and conscientiousness were significantly related to attention control and action exertion. Conclusion: The study sheds light on the association between job characteristics and work-related cognitive failure. These associations were unique, i.e. associations were shown even when individual differences in conscientiousness and neuroticism were controlled for. A job redesign in nursing should address task stressors.
This study analyzed the relationships between home environment, child characteristics and school readiness. In particular, it examined the influence of home environment and child characteristics upon children's school readiness with a focus on attitudes towards and other socio-emotional aspects. 57 children's characteristics, including such items as IQ performance and demographic variables were obtained by means of both individual testing of the child and through a questionnaire given to their parents. Relative levels of school readiness were then rated by teachers. Pearson correlations, and a multiple regression analysis were carried out using the SPSS Win 12.0 program. Our results indicated that (1) school readiness was positively related with mother's job, HOME, the ages of the children, Performance IQ, and Total IQ. (2) The level of the other's education, her job and the child's age was found to significantly predict the level of school readiness.

The purpose of this study was to examine the impacts of individual factors, such as demographic characteristics, personality types and cognitive styles, on job satisfaction of university librarians. The study further investigated the relationships and interaction effects among those factors. Three independent variables examined were demographic characteristics (sex, age, year at work, and position), personality types (Type A and Type B), and cognitive styles (Held-dependence and Held-independence). The dependent varilable was the level of job satisfaction. five factors that affect the level of job satisfaction were the nature of work, salary level promotion practices, supervision style, and the relationships with co-wokers. The number of subjects participated in the study was 166 university librarians working in Pusan area. The SPSSWIN package was used for statistical analysis.
Purpose: The purpose was to investigate the relations among job stress, depression, social support, and coping strategies of nurses. Method: The data were collected from 362 nurses. A self-administered questionnaire was used to assess general characteristics, job stress, depression, social support and coping strategies. Results: The prevalence of depression was 41.7%. Scores of job demand and insecurity, and organizational climate were very high. Logistic regressions showed that nurses, who were single, their 20s, had less than a career year, or working in private hospitals, associated with an increased risk of depression. The sub-scales of job stress except interpersonal conflict and lack of autonomy contributed to an increased risk of depression (lower group; OR=0.248, 95% CI:0.14-0.43). Also individual and organizational support and control coping strategies were associated with depression(lower group: OR=2.993, 95% CI: 2.11-6.30; OR=2.993, 95% CI: 1.51-5.65; OR=2.372, 95% CI=1.43-3.93). Conclusion: These findings indicated that the job stress, especially organizational climate, insecurity of job, lack of reward, individual and organizational support, and control coping strategies contributed to a risk of depression. In order to prevent the depression, the organizational support and strategies will be needed. The depression in specific context and organizational climate should be considered in future studies.
