On May in 2008, mortality of anadromous Ayu Plecoglossus altivelis was observed on the Gangjeong river in Jeju. Major symptoms of the infected fish were mouth rot and skin ulcer. The causative agent was suspected as gliding bacteria. After culture on Shu-Shott and R2A media, we isolated bacterium belonging to the Flavobacterium from ayu with symptoms. As a result, the bacterium was identified as Flavobacterium succinicans JMFL55 by 16S rDNA sequence alignment with F. succinicans DSM 4002(98.27% similarity, GenBank accession NO. AM230492).

Ground seawater in the east area of the volcanic Jeju Island contains abundant minerals. We investigated the metabolic activity of electrodialyzed, desalted ground seawater (EDSW) from Jeju in both cultured cells and animals. The addition of EDSW to the culture medium (up to 20%, v/v) reduced the leakage of lactate dehydrogenase and increased MTT activity in CHO-IR cells. EDSW (10%) promoted insulin-induced glucose consumption in L6 muscle cells as well as the activities of the liver ethanol-metabolizing enzymes, alcohol dehydrogenase and aldehyde dehydrogenase. Moreover, EDSW suppressed palmitate-induced intracellular fat accumulation in human hepatoma $HepG_2$ cells. Activities of AMP-stimulated protein kinase and acetyl CoA carboxylase, enzymes that modulate fat metabolism, were altered by EDSW in $HepG_2$ cells toward the suppression of intracellular lipid accumulation. EDSW also suppressed hepatic fat accumulation induced by a high-fat diet in mice. Taken together, EDSW showed beneficial metabolic effects, including the enhancement of ethanol metabolism and insulin-induced glucose consumption, and the suppression of intrahepatic fat accumulation.

Rhizomes of Acorus gramineus Soland have been used as sedatives, analgesics, and stomachics in Korean medicine. Even though A. gramineus produced in Korea is known as having better efficacy of a remedy than that in China, its cultivation area has not increased because of the lack of seedlings. To solve this problem, seed propagation method was tested. Seeds were harvested and sowed three times in June, 2005. The best results showed at greenish yellow seed stage harvested in mid June, and its germination ratio was 90.7%. Seeds were well stored at $5^{\circ}C$ for 30 days. As for in vitro culture, multiple shoots were induced first in MS basal medium supplemented with $2.0mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ NAA plus $0.1mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ BA, and then roots were induced in MS basal medium containing $0.1mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ BA or $0.5mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ NAA plus $1.0mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ BA. Growth of A. gramineus seedlings in Wonyesangto, potting material sold in markets for horticultural plants, was superior to vermiculite.

The smart tourism service provides services such as travel planning and tour guides to tourists using key technologies of the 4th industrial revolution, such as the Internet of Things, communication infrastructure, big data, artificial intelligence, AR/VR, and drones. We are developing smart tourism services such as recommended travel products, my travel itinerary, tourism information, and chatbots for tourists through the smart tourism app. In this paper, we develop a smart tourism service system that provides real-time location-based tourism information and weather information to tourists. The smart tourism service system consists of a smart tourism app, a smart tourism information system, and an IoT data collection device. The smart tourism information system receives weather information from the IoT data collection device installed in the tourist destination. The location-based smart tourism service is provided as a smart tourism app in the smart tourism information system according to the Beacon's UUID in the IoT data collection device. The smart tourism information system stores the Beacon's UUIDs received from tourists and provides a safe hiking service for tourists.

The smart tourism service provides tourists with personal travel planner services and context-awareness-based tour guide services. In this paper, we propose the personal travel planner service that creates my travel itinerary using the smart tourism app and the travel planner system. The smart tourism app provides recommended travel products and POI tourist information used to create my travel itinerary. The smart tourism app also provides the smart tourism chatbot service that allows users to select POI tourist information easily and conveniently. The travel planner system consists of the smart tourism information system and the smart tourism chatbot system. The smart tourism information system provides users with travel planner services, recommended travel products, and POI tourism information through the smart tourism app. The smart tourism chatbot system consists of named entity recognition (NER), dialogue state tracking (DST), and Neo4J servers, and provides chatbot services as a smart tourism app. Users can create their own travel itinerary, modify the travel itinerary while traveling, and then register it as a recommended travel product to users, including acquaintances.

This study was conducted to dentify the optimum plantlet type of 'Solara' potatoes (Solanum tuberosum L.) for growth in an aeroponics system. Plantlets of 'Solara' were transplanted on March 16, 2015 in a greenhouse, and growth and yield characteristics were investigated at 70 and 78 days after transplanting, respectively. Stem length was shorter in plantlet of 15-day-old stem cuttings and acclimatization of culture, and the stem length of plantlets of stem cuttings tended to increase with increasing stem cutting age. The fresh weight of plants was the highest in the plantlets of 40-day-old stem cuttings and the lowest in non-rooted stem cuttings and acclimatization of culture. The highest number of first stolons was obtained in 35-day-old stem cuttings. The number of second stolons was the highest in plantlets of 35-day-old stem cuttings, acclimatization of culture, and 30- day-old stem cuttings. The total number of tubers was higher in plantlets of 35-day-old stem cuttings and acclimatization of culture, and the number of tubers above 3 g was the highest in plantlets of 35-day-old stem cuttings. The weight of tubers above 3 g was the heaviest in plantlets of 35-day-old stem cuttings(1,947 g per 10 plants), followed by plantlets of 30-day-old stem cuttings. These results indicate that plantlets of 30 to 35-day-old stem cuttings could be the best for production of 'Solara' potato tubers in an aeroponics system.

좁은 국토와 한정된 자원, 주변 국가와의 외래 관광객 유치 경쟁의 심화 등의 이유로 관광산업의 지속적인 발전이 힘들다는 전망이 대두되고 있다. 따라서 날로 다양해지는 관광소비자의 욕구를 정확하게 분석하고, 국내외 관광시장의 흐름을 파악해야 하며, 이러한 관점에서 분석한 결과, 국내 관광지에는 관광객을 유혹할만한 정보를 얻기 힘들고, 이미 통용되고 있는 관광정보 또한 기본적이고 단순한 정보에 지나지 않음을 알 수 있었다. 이에 본 연구는 이야기가 있는 관광지의 정보를 제공하여 보다 흥미 있는 관광정보를 제공하고, 여행자 개개인의 적극적 참여를 유도하기 위해 콘텐츠에 이야기, 애니메이션 및 게임을 제공하고, 주변상점과의 제휴를 통해 상호작용이 가능한 콘텐츠를 개발하였다. 또한 모바일 기기를 기반으로 하여 칼라코드, SMS등의 이용으로 보다 흥미롭고 사용이 편리한 콘텐츠를 개발하고자 노력하였으며, 캐릭터를 개발하여 과학적인 마케팅 전략의 수립으로 지속적인 제주관광발전을 도모하고자 하였다.

Purpose: This study was done to identify the factors affecting the perception of patient-safety-culture and the level of safety-care-activity among nurses in small-medium sized general hospitals. Method: Data were collected during April and May 2011, from 241 nurses of five hospitals. A hospital survey questionnaire on patient-safety-culture and safety-care-activity was used. Collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe test and multiple-regression. Results: There were significant differences in the level of perception of patient-safety-culture according to the nurses' age, type of hospital, position, work department, and knowing whether there was a Patient-Safety committee in their hospitals. Nurses with higher perceived level of the patient-safety-culture performed more safety-care-activities. Factors influencing on the safety-care-activities were general patient safety, having had safety-education, patient-to-nurse ratio, employment status, and the level of reporting medical errors. These factors explained 22.9% of the safety-care-activity. Conclusions: The study findings suggest that in order to improve the nurses' perceived level of patient-safety-culture and safety-care-activity, the hospitals need to establish patient-safety committees and communication systems, and openness to reporting medical errors are needed. Better work conditions to ensure appropriate work time, regulate patient-to-nurse ratio, and nursing education standards and criteria, are also required.

The apparent soil resistivity is used for estimating multilayer soil parameters, such as, layer's depth and soil resistivity. The soil parameters are estimated by continuously revising those parameters until the error between the measured and calculated apparent soil resistivity reaches to allowable level. The equation for calculating the apparent soil resistivity is complicated and time consumed, because it is composed of an infinite integral which includes a zero order Bessel's function of the first kind. In this paper, a fast algorithm for calculating the apparent soil resistivity of horizontal multilayer earth structure is proposed using exponential sampling method.

Neural networks have been reborn as a Deep Learning thanks to big data, improved processor, and some modification of training methods. Neural networks used to initialize weights in a stupid way, and to choose wrong type activation functions of non-linearity. Weight initialization contributes as a significant factor on the final quality of a network as well as its convergence rate. This paper discusses different approaches to weight initialization. MNIST dataset is used for experiments for comparing their results to find out the best technique that can be employed to achieve higher accuracy in relatively lower duration.
