제주도 성산유역의 저투수층 구조에 따른 지하수 흐름 분석 (Analysis on Groundwater Flow According to Low Permeable Layer Structure over Seongsan Watershed of Jeju Island)

  • The depth of low permeable layer in Jeju Island was analyzed using the geologic columnar section data. The highest low permeable layer was found in center of Mt. Halla and the deepest area was in eastern part of Jeju Island. The study area, Seongsan watershed, is located in the eastern part of Jeju where the low permeable layer showing deep in a northward direction. Based on this analysis, the MODFLOW modeling was performed for groundwater flow of Seongsan watershed. The boundary of Seongsan watershed was set up as a no-flow and the modeling result showed the difference -0.26~0.62 m compared to the observed groundwater level. Meanwhile, MODFLOW model results considering low permeable layer showed -0.26~0.36 m differences compared to groundwater level and indicated more accurate than no-flow method result. Therefore, to interpret the groundwater flow over Seongsan watershed, comprehensive consideration including the low permeable layer distribution below the basalt layer is needed.

측정-상관-예측법을 이용한 장기간 풍속 및 설비이용률의 예측 (Prediction of long-term wind speed and capacity factor using Measure-Correlate-Predict method)

  • Long-term variations in wind speed and capacity factor(CF) on Seongsan wind farm of Jeju Island, South Korea were derived statistically. The selected areas for this study were Subji, having a year wind data at 30m above ground level, Sinsan, having 30-year wind data at 10m above ground level and Seongsan wind farm, where long-term CF was predicted. The Measure-Correlate-Predict module of WindPRO was used to predict long-tem wind characteristics at Seongsan wind farm. Eachyear's CF was derived from the estimated 30-year time series wind data by running WAsP module. As a result, for the 30-year CFs, Seongsan wind farm was estimated to have 8.3% for the coefficien to fvariation, CV, and-16.5% ~ 13.2% for the range of variation, RV. It was predicted that the annual CF at Seongsan wind farm varied within about ${\pm}4%$.

성산 풍력발전단지의 연간발전량 예측 정확도 평가 (Accuracy Assessment of Annual Energy Production Estimated for Seongsan Wind Farm)

  • In order to examine how accurately the wind farm design software, WindPRO and Meteodyn WT, predict annual energy production (AEP), an investigation was carried out for Seongsan wind farm of Jeju Island. The one-year wind data was measured from wind sensors on met masts of Susan and Sumang which are 2.3 km, and 18 km away from Seongsan wind farm, respectively. MERRA (Modern-Era Retrospective Analysis for Research and Applications) reanalysis data was also analyzed for the same period of time. The real AEP data came from SCADA system of Seongsan wind farm, which was compare with AEP data predicted by WindPRO and Meteodyn WT. As a result, AEP predicted by Meteodyn WT was lower than that by WindPRO. The analysis of using wind data from met masts led to the conclusion that AEP prediction by CFD software, Meteodyn WT, is not always more accurate than that by linear program software, WindPRO. However, when MERRA reanalysis data was used, Meteodyn WT predicted AEP more accurately than WindPRO.

지하수 개발 및 양수기간에 따른 수위 변동특성 분석 (Analysis of Water Level Fluctuations according to Groundwater Development and Pumping Duration)

  • This study analyzed fluctuations of ground water level of ground water wells developed in Seongsan watershed of Jeju Island until 2013 using MODFLOW, a numerical analysis model. Ground water level shows greater fluctuations from increase of pump capacity compared to the number of ground water wells. The development of ground water at the top of watershed was found to have direct influence on ground water level. Ground water wells developed until 2013 were used to continue pumping for 50 days, and ground water level of coastal region was reduced below 50% compared to the standard water level. In addition, the range of fluctuation of water level was large in the east coast region, which represents the direction of flow of ground water.

제주연안 갯녹음(백화) 지역의 해수에 분포하는 세균군의 분자생물학적 분석 (Molecular Analysis of Bacterial Communities Distributed in Sea Water of Whitening Areas of Jeju Coast)

  • 본 연구에서는 갯녹음(백화)현상이 세균생태계와 어떤 관련 이 있는 지에 대한 기초자료 및 정보를 얻기 위하여 갯녹음 현상이 일어난 제주도 성산과 강정지역 연안의 해수에 존재하는 세균군을 16S rRNA중폭기법을 이용하여 조사하였다. 강정지 역에서는 Alcanivorax, Paracoccus, Damselae, Pseudomonas, Rhodovulum, Silicibacter, Sulfitobacter, Roseobacter등 다양한 종류의 세균이 분포되어 있었으며, Alcanivorax가 20%의 빈도로 가장 많이 나타났다. 반면, 성산 지역에서는 Pseudomonas속 균주가 우점종으로서 존재하였으며, Pseudomonas tolaasii (혹은 Pseudomonas corrugata)와 유연관계가 가까운 세균은 44%, Pseudamonas mandeli와 가까운 세균이 24%, Verrucomicrobiales와 가까운 세균은 4%,기타 동정되지 알은 세균은 세 group으로 구분되었으며, 각각 8%,8%, 12%를 차지하여, 두곳에 분포되어 있는 세균군상이 상당한 차이점 이 있음을 확인하였다. 갯녹음 지역인 강정과 성산 해수의 8월(표품 채집시기)의 수온은 $27^{\circ}C$~$27.4^{\circ}C$, 염분의 농도는 30.24-30.60%, pH는 8.23~8.36,용존산소량(DO)은 각각 7.20~7.28로, 두지역에서 매우 비슷한 것으로 조사된 바 있는 데, 이는 수온이나 염분의 농도, 또는 pH보다는 다른 원인에 의하여 두 갯녹음 지역에 분포하는 세균군의 차이를 가져왔음을 제시해 주었다.

제주도 성산일출봉 일대 현무암에 대한 암석학적 연구 (Petrology of the Basalts in the Seongsan-Ilchulbong area, Jeju Island)

  • 제주도 동부 성산 일출봉 일대 현무암류에 대한 암석기재, 암석화학적 특징 및 마그마 성인에 대하여 연구하였다. 본 지역의 지질은 층서적으로 최하부에 표선리현무암이 놓이며, 그 위에 성산리현무암이 분포하는데, 이는 라필리스톤층 및 고토양층에 의해 하부용암류와 상부용암류로 구분된다. 본 지역에서 산출되는 용암류는 반정 광물의 종류 및 조직에 따라 크게 침상장석 감람석 현무암과 비현정질 현무암으로 구분할 수 있다. 본 지역의 화산암류는 TAS분류도에서 알칼리계열 현무암과 비알칼리계열 현무암으로 분류되며, 비알칼리 계열 현무암은 쏠리아이트암으로 분류된다. 쏠리아이트 현무암은 알칼리현무암에 비하여 $SiO_2,\;FeO^T$, CaO 함량이 높고, $TiO_2,\;K_2O,\;P_2O_5$ 함량과 다른 불호정성원소 함량의 낮은 값을 가지는 특징을 보인다. MgO 함량 변화에 따른 미량 원소 변화에서 호정성 미량 원소의 변화 경향은 대체로 정(+)의 상관 관계를 나타내고, Th을 마그마 분화 척도로 사용한 불호정성 미량 원소의 변화 경향도 정(+)의 상관 관계를 나타낸다. 암석화학적 고찰 결과는 본 지역의 암석이 동질기원 마그마 물질의 부분용융의 차이에 의해 생성되었음을 지시한다.

Systemic Candidiasis of a Wild Slaty-Backed Gull (Larus schistisagus) in Jeju, Korea

  • A young slaty-backed gull was found dead nearby Seongsan harbor, Seogwipo-si, Jeju. Grossly, focal ulceration and a protuberant nodule were observed in intermediated zone between proventriculus and gizzard. Numerous discrete or confluent white-yellowish nodules were scattered on the surface of liver. Caudal portion of left kidney was replaced by a white-yellowish nodule. Three raised masses were observed in the spleen. Histologically, there were severe ulceration with hemorrhage in the gizzard and multifocal granulomatous inflammations in liver, kidney, spleen, and lungs. Pink to dark-red, round to oval fungal spores and pseudohyphae in granulomatous lesions were confirmed by periodic acid-Schiff stain. Candida albicans were isolated from the lesions of liver, kidney, spleen and gizzard using fungal culture and confirmed by VITEK 2 system. Based on the gross, histopathological findings, and fungal examination, this case was diagnosed as systemic candidiasis of a wild slaty-backed gull. In our best knowledge, this is the first report for systemic candidiasis characterized by multifocal granulomatous lesions in internal organs of a wild gull in Korea.

A New Record and Redescription of Zygophylax (Hydrozoa: Leptothecata: Zygophylacidae) from Korea

  • A taxonomic examination of Zygophylax species collected from the subtidal zone of Seongsan Ilchulbong in the east of Jeju Island and a reexamination of the voucher specimens previously described as Z. biarmata were conducted. Through this study, the species previously reported as Z. biarmata in Korea was redescribed as Z. pacifica, and the specimens from Seongsan Ilchulbong were confirmed to be Z. biarmata. Zygophylax biarmata has two nematothecae on the apophysis of the hydrotheca, a clear distinction between the apophysis and the pedicel of the hydrotheca, and much smaller hydrothecae, whereas Z. pacifica has a single nematotheca on the apophysis of the hydrotheca, no distinction between the apophysis and the pedicel of the hydrotheca, and much larger hydrothecae. As a result of this study, a total of two species belonging to genus Zygophylax have been reported in the hydrozoan fauna of Korea to date.

외국인 관광객의 관광지 이미지가 만족도와 재방문의도에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구: 성산일출봉 방문 중국인 관광객을 중심으로 (A Research on Effects of the Satisfaction and Revisiting Intension by Image of Tourist Destination: Focus on Chinese Tourist of Seongsan Sunrise Peak)

  • 본 연구에서는 외국인 관광객의 관광지 이미지가 만족과 재방문의도에 미치는 영향에 대해 조사하였다. 방한 외국인 관광객 중 많은 수를 차지하고 있는 중국인 관광객을 대상으로 조사하였고, 제주특별자치도의 관광지 중 대표적인 성산일출봉을 대상지로 선정하여 조사하였다. 조사 결과 관광지 이미지 중 일부 요소만이 관광 만족도에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 관광지 이미지가 재방문 의도에도 일부 요소만이 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 관광지 만족은 재방문의도에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 인지적 이미지에서는 성산일출봉의 환경요인과 매력요인이 가장 중요한 요인으로 파악되었고, 정서적 이미지에서는 흥미요인, 안락요인, 쾌적요인이 만족에 영향을 주는 중요 요인으로 나타났다.

제주와 강원 지역의 낙뢰특성 및 풍력발전기의 낙뢰피해 비교 연구 (A Comparative Study on Lightning Characteristics and Lightning Damage to Wind Turbines of Jeju and Gangwon Region)

  • An investigation on lightning characteristics and damage to wind turbines was performed on Jeju and Gangwon regions. The lightning data from January 2010 to September 2013 detected by IMPACT ESP were collected and analyzed in detail. Hangyeong and Seongsan wind farms of Jeju province and Taebaek, Changjuk, Taegisan and Gangwon wind farms of Gangwon province were selected for this study. Lightning rates and lightning damage events at the six wind farms were compared with each other. Lightning maps for the two regions were drawn using lightning frequency data. As a result, lightning frequency of Gangwon region was higher than that of Jeju region, while lightning strength of Gangwon was weaker than that of Jeju. Lightning rates were assessed to be good for all of the six wind farms. No lightning damage to wind turbines occurred at the two wind farms of Jeju, while some lightning damage to wind turbines took place at the four wind farms of Gangwon.
