This paper presents a systematic approach for estimating material performance of concrete mixture design based on satisfaction curves developed from statistical evaluation of existing or newly obtained material property related data. In performance based material design (PBMD) method, concrete material used for construction of a structure is designed considering a structure's specified performance requirements based on its usage and characteristics such as environmental conditions, structure types, expected design life, etc.Satisfaction curves express the probabilities that one component of substrates (i.e., aggregate size, cement content, etc) of concrete mixture will sustain different criterion value for a given concrete mixture design. This study presents a statistical analysis method for setting up concrete material parameter versus concrete criterion relationships in the form of satisfaction curves and for estimating confidence bounds on these satisfaction curves. This paper also presents an analysis method to combine multiple satisfaction curves to form one unique satisfaction curve that can relate the performance of concrete to a single evaluating value. Based on several evaluated mixture design examples for various material properties, the validity of the proposed method is discussed in detail.

The first purpose of this paper is to develop the sensorless drive at adjustable speed without any mechanical position or speed sensor. For this, this research analyzes terminal voltage, finds the rotor position information and makes the source of commutations of phase current. The second purpose is to propose the sensing method of initial rotor position without instantaneous rotating. Experimental results show the validity and practical use of the proposed sensing method.

Currently, the environmental certification such as BREEAM and LEED has been improved for the sustainable development and related research is conducted continuously. Especially, in the respect of economy, it is reported that the construction costs of the certified buildings are more increased than non-certified buildings. However, the report has not focused on the educational building but the residential and commercial buildings. Therefore, the objective of this study is to analyze the difference of construction costs between LEED and Non-LEED educational buildings. To achieve the objective, the buildings data are collected in 21 universities then T-test is used for examining the construction costs. As a result, it shows that the construction costs of LEED buildings are increased by 3.8% comparing with non-LEED buildings.

고발포 소화약제의 발포력은 화재시 포소화약제의 성능을 검증하는데에 중요한 요소이다. 이러한 발포력 검증은 한국소방산업기술원의 "포소화약제의 형식승인 및 검정기술기준(KOFEIS 0103)"에서 제시하고 있는 표준발포기를 이용한 측정법을 통해 검증한다. 본 연구에서는 기존 방법의 제작 비용 및 측정의 번거로움을 보완하기 위한 약제 개발단계에서의 포소화약제 발포력 검증을 위한 실험실적인 측정법을 고안하여 적용성을 분석한다. 측정은 1000ml 시험관내에 3%의 수용액 $100m{\ell}$를 첨가하여 수용액 내부에 정량펌프를 통해 일정한 기포량 및 기포크기로 분사하여 발포시켰으며, 기포의 노즐은 거품의 정확도를 향상시키기 위해 마이크로 피펫팁 $0.2m{\ell}$ 용량을 사용하여 적용성을 분석하였다.

Polyaniline (PANI) nanospheres, 4 run in diameter, were fabricated by the microemulsion polymerization of octyltrimethyl ammonium bromide (OTAB). The size of the PANI nanoparticles could be controlled as functions of the surfactant concentration, surfactant spacer length and polymerization temperature. The diameter of the PANI nanospheres decreased with increasing surfactant concentration and decreasing temperature. The PANI nanoparticles revealed enhanced conductivity compared to conventional bulk PANIs. In addition, the PANI nanoparticles could be applied as optically transparent conducting materials due to their high conductivity and the nanosize effect. With 9 wt% PANI in the PC matrix, the PANI/PC film exhibited a conductivity of $8.9\times10^{-3}S/cm$ and transparency exceeding 95% over the entire visible light range.

Soil Moisture Experiment(SMEX)는 2002년부터 2005년까지 해마다 실측치, 항공기 및 원격탐사를 이용하여 토양수분을 관측 및 평가하고 지표와 대기의 수문학적 연구를 위해 기초가 되는 토양수분 자료를 제공한다. 우리나라도 토양수분에 관한 연구가 있지만 원격탐사를 이용한 접근은 적다. 본 연구에서는 SMEX02의 Polarimetric Scanning Radiometer(PSR) 데이터와 In-situ 데이터를 사용가능한 4개 지점에 대하여 비교 분석을 실시하였다. C-band의 토양수분은 10cm 깊이에서 유의함을 보여 주고, 검정을 통하여 토양수분의 분포형은 정규분포 보다 대수정규분포와 Gumbel 분포가 더 유의함을 알 수 있었다.
