  • In this paper, a low-area symbol timing offset synchronization structure for WLAN Modem is proposed. Using CSD(Canonic Signed Digit) coefficients and CSS(Common Sub-expression Sharing) technique for the filter implementation, efficient structure for multiplication block can be obtained. Function simulation for proposed structure is done by using the preamble with timing offset. Through Verilog-HDL coding and synthesis, it is shown that the proposed symbol timing offset synchronization structure can be implemented with low-area semiconductor.

A Research on the Actual Conditions of the Electric Shock Hazard of a Guard Lamp (보안등의 감전 위험성에 관한 실태조사)

  • In this paper, guard lamps at three areas have been investigated to understand the actual conditions of the electric shock hazard of the guard lamps. Upon the basis of the obtained data, the actual conditions of the guard lamps were precisely analyzed in terms of the electric shock hazard. As a result of the investigation, it was turned out that many guard lamps were not installed in organized ways due to the lack of legal regulations, resulting in the increase of electric shock hazard. Therefore, it is necessary, from a point of electric shock protection view, to establish the regulations of equipment installation and management, which can be specifically applied to guard lamps.

  • Rapid turning and accelerated movement of a rotorcraft leads to the slosh and vibration effect of fuel in the fuel tank. Due to the slosh load, the internal component of a fuel tank can be broken and fuel tank skin can be damaged. This is directly related to human survivability. Military specification(MIL-DTL-27422D) requires the verification of the stability of aircraft fuel tank and internal component against slosh & vibration load through the qualification test. This report shows the establishment of slosh and vibration test facility and KUH fuel tank qualification test result.

주기적으로 극성이 반전된 ZnO 구조의 형성 및 응용

  • ZnO 직접 천이형의 와이드밴드갭 화합물 반도체로써 높은 엑시톤 결합 에너지를 가짐으로 해서 광전자나 광학디바이스로의 넓은 응용범위를 갖고 있다. 최근들어 ZnO의 비선형 광학 특성이 보고 됨으로써 새로운 광학 재료로서의 연구도 기대되고 있다. 본연구에서는 새로운 주기적 반전 구조를 제안함으로 해서 극성을 가지는 화합물 반도체의 비선형 광학 디바이스로의 응용 범위를 넓히고자 한다. ZnO는 Wurtzite 구조를 가짐으로 해서 성장 방향으로 Zn-극성 및 O-극성을 가지게 된다. 이런 자연 발생적인 극성에 의해 물리적, 화학적, 광학적 특성들이 바뀌게 됨으로, 극성의 제어는 재료의 특성을 극대화 시키기 위해 아주 중요한 항목이 되어 있습니다. 본 연구에서는 손쉽고 재현성이 확보되는 방법으로써, CrN 와 Cr2O 3의 완충층을 제안하여 ZnO 극성의 제어를 이루었고, 제안된 극성 제어 방식을 이용하여 주기적으로 Zn-극성과 O-극성이 배열된 구조(PPI 구조)를 형성 하였다. 패터닝과 재성장 방법을 통해서 다양한 구조와 사이즈의 1D, 2D PPI ZnO를 제작하는데 성공하였다. 주기적인 반전구조의 제작을 확인하기 위해 PRM(piezo response miscosocpy)이라는 방법을 통하여 주기적 극성 선택성을 확인하였으며, TEM과 PL 분석법을 통하여 구조적 광학적 특성을 분석하였다. 새롭게 제안된 극성 제어 방식을 이용하여 제작된 PPI 구조를 이용하여 비선형 광학소자로의 응용성을 확인하였다. 본발표에서는 PPI ZnO 구조의 형성방법, 분석 및 응용에 대한 제안과 결과가 논의될 것이다.

Determination of Organic Acids in Tobacco Leaves by HPLC (HPLC를 이용한 잎담배 중 유기산 함량 분석)

  • This study was carried out to improve the analytical methods for determination of organic acids in tobacco leaf by HPLC. The samples for HPLC analysis were pre-treated by means of SPE. The calibration curve for each acid was linear and $R^2$ values ranged from 0.9990 to 1.0000. The limit of detection were obtained from the calibration curves and their values were between 1.39 to $4.87{\mu}g/mL$. Recovery rates of organic acids were between 88.6 % to 98.5 %. The concentrations of organic acids among the various tobacco leaves were compared to the concentration of organic acids, were in the order oriental, burley, flue-cured tobacco. In the case of flue-cured and oriental tobacco leaves, the order of concentration of organic acids was malic acid, oxalic acid, citric acid. But in the case of burley tobacco leaves, the order of concentration of organic acids was citric acid, oxalic acid, malic acid.

  • Combustion characteristics of synthetic gas from flame pyrolysis gasification of polymetric wastes are reported and the applicability of synthetic gas from flame pyrolysis gasification to a gas engine system is presented. Engine power is easily predicted by the volume percentage of the synthetic gas. Measurements have been made to obtain the range of flame existence in the function of volume percentage of CO and $H_2$ gases in the synthetic gas. In order to clarify the emission of the flames, NOx measurements by chemiluminescent analyser are taken in flames with different equivalent ratios. From the results of the engine performance data we also have demonstrated that the output of the gas engine modified from a LPG engine is about 5 ps at normal rating. We conclude that synthetic gas from flame pyrolysis gasification of polymetric wastes is applicable to a gas engine system.

  • We have developed a large area ion shower doping system with an RF plasma ion source. The ion current density (i.e., doping concentration) increases with RF power and acceleration voltage. Using this technique, we investigated the optimum condition for ion doping of phosphorus in a-Si:H and poly-Si films. The optimum acceleration voltage and doping time are 6KV and 90sec, respectively, in a-Si:H films. Under this condition the electrical conductivity of ion-doped a-Si:H film is obtained ~10$^{-3}$/cm at room temperature. The sheet resistance decreases witnh acceleration voltage in ion-doped poly-Si, and a heavily-doped layer with a sheet resistance of 920$\Omega$/ㅁ is obtained by using ion doping and subsequent activation.

  • Generally wave buoy and visual observation are used to measure sea waves. But the wave buoy cannot be applicable for the ship moving in deep sea. So the visual observation has been used for it. But it has several defects and limitation related to environmental condition and observer. To overcome this problem, various wave measurement systems have been suggested. Recently, the wave measurement systems using nautical X-band radar have been developed and extended its application area. In this report, we introduce the wave measurement system, WaveFinder, developed by authors. The system was calibrated and verified with the measurement results of wave buoy. The system was adopted to measure wave condition during sea trials. The system will be a device to support safe navigation in ship's voyage.

Structural design optimization of racing motor boat based on nonlinear finite element analysis

  • Since 1980's, optimum design techniques for ship structural design have been developed to the preliminary design which aims at minimum weight or minimum cost design of mid-ship section based on analytic structural analysis. But the optimum structural design researches about the application for the detail design of local structure based on FEA have been still insufficient. This paper presents optimization technique for the detail design of a racing motor boat. To improve the performance and reduce the damage of a real existing racing boat, direct structural analyses; static and non-linear transient dynamic analyses, were carried out to check the constraints of minimum weight design. As a result, it is shown that the optimum structural design of a racing boat has to be focused on reducing impulse response from pitching motion than static response because the dynamic effect is more dominant. Optimum design algorithm based on nonlinear finite element analysis for a racing motor boat was developed and coded to ANSYS, and its applicability for actual structural design was verifed.
