Since the existing anti-jamming methods, including intelligent methods, have difficulty against high-speed reactive jamming, we studied a new methodology for jamming utilization instead of avoiding jamming. Different from the existing jamming utilization techniques that harvest energy from the jamming signal as a power supply, our proposed method can take the jamming signal as a favorable factor for frequency detection. Specifically, we design an intelligent differential frequency hopping communication framework (IDFH), which contains two stages of training and communication. We first adopt supervised learning to get the jamming rule during the training stage when the synchronizing sequence is sent. And then, we utilize the jamming rule to improve the frequency detection during the communication stage when the real payload is sent. Simulation results show that the proposed method successfully combated high-speed reactive jamming with different parameters. And the communication performance increases as the power of the jamming signal increase, hence the jamming signal can help users communicate in a low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) environment.

In this paper, an effective repeat-back jamming (RBJ) mitigation scheme known assuccessive repeat-back jamming cancellation (SRC) is proposed for the utilization of the successive interference cancellation (SIC) algorithm which is used to mitigate the near-far effect and the multiple-access interference for code division multiple-access communication systems. The proposed scheme uses a combined pseudo-random noise (C-PRN) signal from the estimated major parameters of RBJ signals. To evaluate the performance of the proposed scheme, the root mean squared (RMS) code tracking errors are shown according to the standard deviation of the parameter estimation errors of an RBJ signal, and using the well-known major parameters estimation schemes with a C-PRN signal through Monte-Carlo simulation.
In this paper, we analyze the tracking errors of monopulse radar according to the JSR of retrodirective cross-eye and radar skin return signals. The cross-eye jammer gain(Gc) is used to calculate the radar tracking errors, and the relationship between the jammer gain and the JSR is represented mathematically. We analyze the radar tracking errors by varying the tracking angle and JSR. Analysis results of the phase difference(ϕ) and amplitude ratio(a) between the two jammer signals and the changing JSR show that the closer the phase difference of the two jammer signals is to 180, the greater the tracking error and it shows that if the JSR is above 20dB, the tracking errors no longer increase. This work presents an effective utilization of retrodirective cross-eye jammers through various tracking error analyses based on the JSR, tracking angles, two-jammer phase differences and amplitude ratios of two-jammer signals.

A bandwidth and power efficient high speed ubiquitous sensor network(USN) for realizing a ubiquitous society is a great challenge for researcher community. In this paper we incorporate a cooperative transmission protocol within a special type of multi-code modulation to meet these requirements. Multi-code(Mc) modulation has been developed for high-speed data transmission over wireless channels. We proposed a new class of orthogonal codes for multi-code modulation which is an orthogonal subset of orthogonal codes(OSOC). Our proposed OSOC structure allows us to use only one relay to cooperate M nodes that effectively reduces the bandwidth and power requirement. This protocol is similar to spread-spectrum(SS) technique that can reduce both broad and narrow band jamming.
Recently, the dual-polarized antenna array has drawn attention due to the dependency of its signal processing gain on the signal polarization. Even though this polarization dependency makes it possible to mitigate a non-right-hand circularly polarized (non-RHCP) jamming signal from the same direction as a GPS signal, the dual-polarized antennas are not yet widely used for various applications. This study suggests a method that can acquire the polarization dependency of the signal-processing gain by intentionally misaligning antenna elements in a single-polarized antenna array. The simulation results show that the proposed method can successfully mitigate a non-RHCP jammer from the same direction as a GPS signal as if a dual-polarized antenna array does and provide comparable signal-to-jammer-plus-noise ratio (SJNR) performance with a completely aligned single-polarized antenna array and a dual-polarized antenna array.

OSPF is the optimized routing protocol in wired network and considered as a tactical routing protocol in wireless tactical communication network. However because it is designed basically based on wired environment, it runs inadequately in wireless tactical environment: noise and jamming signal. So, we proposed new OSPF cost function to develop active routing protocol in wireless tactical communication network. In redefined cost function, there are four parameters that are relative transmission speed, link weight, router utilization, link average BER(Bit Error Rate). These parameters reflect wireless tactical characters. Also, we remodel the option field in Hello packet. It can help user to periodically check the link state. From the simulation result, it is shown that proposed OSPF is better than OSPF in jamming situation and has accumulative delay gain with dispersion of traffic load in entire network.

Satellite communications consist of communications between base stations of the ground and satellites. For efficient satellite communications, ground networks should be organically utilized. Grid networks are frequently used in and outside the country for wireless communications. The performance of wireless communications is determined by mobility, topography, and jamming signals. Therefore, continuous studies of grid networks are necessary for the utilization of next period satellite networks. Since military communications are used based on wireless systems, they can be considered as a sample of utilization of grid networks. Therefore, this paper presented the results of simulations conducted for the improvement of the performance of the grid networks used in military communications that employing the OSPF, a popular routing protocol for military applications. First we investigate the effects of changing the bit error rate (BER) and number of routers. Then we discuss the effects of maximum segment size (MSS) on network behavior and stability. In this way, we can determine the appropriate MSS for a grid network under various values of BER and number of routers. Such results can be also applied to commercial grid network evaluations.

Recently, in accordance with the commercialization of novel radio frequency utilization technologies, the radiated power must be rigorously limited for the purpose of protection of wireless facilities against frequency jamming or interference and for maintaining the quality of communication service. At present, the output power is measured from the conducted power for the domestic measurement criterion but is not a real radiated power and inaccurate. So, it is peformed to survey the more precisely accurate measurement scheme and analyze its criterion and methodology in comparison with foreign one. As a result of surveying and analyzing, it is concluded that the U.S. and E.U. is actually using the measurement method in consideration of terms of the Equivalent Isotropic Radiated Power(EIRP) and Effective Radiated power(ERP). In case of the frequency below 1 GHz, the half wave-length dipole antenna is used to measure the ERP and above 1 GHz the horn antenna as a reference antenna is used to measure the EIRP. Therefore, for the domestic purpose it is also necessary to take EIRP and ERP into consideration as a measurement criterion in order to make an accurate measurement and regulation.
In this paper, the possibility and necessity of the digital broadcasting propulsion in AM and FM is presented based on DRM and DRM+ transmission modes, They are the members of series technological family in digital radio development. As the frequency utilization, the application of DRM+ is flexible in any mode such as IN-BAND or OUT-OF-BAND. When the digital audio broadcasting is planned at LOW-VHF bandwidth such as TV channel No.5 and NO.6 being adjacent to FM band and OUT-Of-BAND DRM+ technology is applied, there is no collision and jamming. Particularly, in the IN-BAND Hybrid mode, it is mentioned that there was the difficulty problem for multiple SFN transmitters uses. Not like the IN-BAND mode the OUT-OF-BAND mode lets multiple transmitters, because neighbor transmitters do not interfere each other. Digital transmitter can be combined with the existing FM transmitter. The intensity of power and size of area can be easily determined according to local broadcasters' condition. And the OUT-OF-BAND mode is advantageous for AM/FM integration in digital radio receiver manufacturing, which makes the conversion schedule much shorter.

A baggage handling system (BHS) in airport is an unified system for moving the passengers' baggage in designated time. Input baggage from the check-in counter travels to the baggage claim area or cargo handling terminal through this system. In particular, entryway BHS consists of conveyors, X-ray and sorters such as tilt-tray to send the baggage to departing airplane and it could have various problems for handling certain amount of baggage in restricted time such as baggage jamming at certain merge point. This causes systemic error such as delay of the time, omissions of the baggage and even breakdown of the equipment and inefficiency. Also the increasing maximum time of the baggage passing through the BHS could delay the flight schedule and finally decrease the service level. Thus, the algorithm for controlling the flow of the merge is essential to the system. The window reservation algorithm is the one of the most frequently used methods to control the merge configuration. Above all, the reserve location, so called reserve ahead point, that allocates the window is important for the performance of the algorithm. We propose the modified window reservation algorithm and the best reserve locations by changing the reserve ahead point in the induction conveyors. The effect of various reserve ahead points such as the capacity and utility of the system were analyzed and the most effective reserve ahead point combination was found. The total baggage processing time and the utilization of the tilt-tray are properly considered when choosing the optimal Reserve ahead point combination. In the layout of this study, the configuration of four conveyors merged into one tilt-tray is studied and simulation analysis is done by AutoMod(R), 3D simulation software. Through the simulation, the window reservation algorithm is effectively operated with the best combination of reserve ahead point which reduces the maximum baggage travel time.
