  • Preconditioned compressible Navier-Stokes equations are solved for almost incompressible flows. Unstructured meshes are utilized for spatial discretization of complex flow domain. Effectiveness of the current preconditioning algorithm, with respect to various Reynolds numbers and Mach numbers, is demonstrated by the solution of canonical problems for incompressible flows, e.g. driven cavity flows.

  • The implicit discontinuous Galerkin method for the two-dimensional Euler equations was developed on unstructured triangular meshes, which can achieve higher-order accuracy by wing hierachical basis functions based on Legendre polynomials. Numerical tests were conducted to estimate the convergence order of numerical solutions to the Ringleb flow and the supersonic vortex flow for which analytic solutions are available. And, the flows around a circle and a NACA0012 airfoil was also numerically simulated. Numerical results show that the implicit discontinuous Galerkin methods with higher-order representation of curved solid boundaries can be an efficient higher-order method to obtain very accurate numerical solutions on unstructured meshes.

  • Magnetic levitation system is nonlinear and inherently unstable, so it is difficult to control. Analog control circuit was widly used as the controller of magnetic levitation system, but digital controller is now substituted for analog controller according to development of digital electronics. In this study, Atmel AVR series, ATmega 128 which is a kind of $\mu$-processor for digital controller is used because the chip is cheap and popular. We designed and made ATmega 128 one-board controller and aimed to verify validity through the experiance of levitation response.

  • For the evaluation of the normalized impact sound pressure level, the reverberation time of the receiving room should be measured. This paper deals with the effect of the time constant of FFT analyzer and the measuring points on reverberation time. It is found that the time constant should be in the range between 10 ms and 35 ms. While the effect of measuring points on the reverberation time is significant when the bandwidth is narrow it is negligible in the evaluation of the normalized impact sound pressure level.

  • In this paper, we propose an output feedback controller for a chain of integrators system compensating measurement noise of feedback sensor. Measurement noise makes feedback signals distorted, and results in performance degradation or even system failure. Therefore, we need to design a robust controller to accommodate the possible measurement noise in the feedback information. Our controller is equipped with a gain-scaling factor to reject or minimize the effect of measurement noise in output feedback information. We give a theoretical analysis of the controlled system and illustrate the improved control performance via an example.

  • Power system analysis is generally based on computer simulation and time-domain simulation is used to assess it's dynamic performance. This paper deals with the selection of proper integration engine for large-scale power system dynamic simulation. Simulation results obtained from the selected algorithm are compared to those of commercial program.

  • Laminar film condensation of a saturated vapor in forced flow over a flat plate is analyzed by using integral method. Laminar condensate film is so thin that the inertia and thermal convection terms in liquid flow can be neglected. Approximate solutions for water are presented and well agreed with the similarity solutions over the wide range of physical parameter, Cp1(Ts-Tw)/Pr.hfg. For the strong condensation case, it is found that magnitude of the interfacial shear stress at the liquid-vapor interphase boundary is approximately equal to the momentum transferred by condensation, i.e., ${\tau}_i{\simeq}\dot{m}(U_O-U_i)$.

  • This paper describes the control charcteristics of thermal/flow systems. In thermal/flow systems, the transport lag plays as a dead time causing a deterioration of the controllability. Besides this, such many parameters including the temperature, pressure, and flow rate affect the system response that a control scheme which can deal with multi-input is required. Particularly in a refrigerant compressor test facility, the evaporator and condenser interact each other so that the change in the evaporator pressure cause the condenser pressure to change or vice versa. Therefore, to control the evaporator pressure, not only the cooling water flow rate in the evaporator but also the coolant flow rate in the condenser is considered. Meanwhile, the conventional PID controllers, which is suitable for a single input system, shows a large overshoot for a disturbance input. In this work, the predictive control scheme is introduced and its applicability is discussed for thermal/flow systems.

  • 지금까지 변전소나 개폐소에서 전류, 전압을 계측하는 수단으로서 주로 철심과 권선으로 구성되어진 변류기(CT), 계기용 변압기(PT, PD)가 사용되어져 왔다. 최근, 2차측의 계측기나 보호 Relay의 Digital화가 진전되어, 또한 이것을 Digital Network으로 총합한 Intelligent 변전소의 구축이 검토되어짐에 따라, Digital Network에 대응한 신형 CT, VD가 요구되어지고 있다. 상기와 같은 요구로 인해 당사에서는 CT는 검출부에 Rogowski Coil을 적용하며 그 후단에 적분기를 설치하였으며, VD는 검출부에 중간 전극을 이용해서 분압하는 방식인 Capacitive Voltage Divider를 사용하고 증폭기를 삽입하여, 각각 요구되는 전압 신호를 얻었다. 이러한 신형 CT/VD의 적용으로 종래의 CT/PT가 차지하는 공간이 필요 없게 되어 컴팩트한 GIS의 구조가 가능하게 되어 있다.

The Potential Energy Recovery and Thermal Degradation of Used Tire Using TGA (열분석법을 이용한 사용후 타이어의 열적 특성과 포텐셜 에너지의 회수)

  • The thermal degradation kinetics of SBR and tire were studied using a conventional thermogravimetric analysis in the stream nitrogen at a heating rate of 5, 10, 15, $20^{\circ}C/min$, respectively. Thermogravimetric curves and their derivatives were analyzed using various analytical methods to determine the kinetic parameters. The degradation of the SBR and tire was found to be a complex process which has multi-stages. The Friedman method gave average activation energies for the SBR and tire of 247.53kJ/mol and 230.00kJ/mol, respectively. Mean-while, the Ozawa method Eave 254.80kJ/mol and 215.76kJ/mol. It would appear that either. Friedman's differential method or Ozawa's integral method provided satisfactory mathematical approaches to determine the kinetic parameters for the degradation of the SBR and tire. Approximately 86% and 55% of oil products were obtained at a final temperature of $700^{\circ}C$ and a heating rate of $20^{\circ}C/min$ for the SBR and tire respectively.
