Objectives : The purpose of this report is to know the effect of Korean medical treatments on pemphigus vulgaris with generalized pruritus. Methods : We treated a 44-years-old woman patient with pemphigus vulgaris on the whole body with Korean medicine. After Korean medical treatment for 17 weeks, we measured the extinction of blisters and decrease of pruritus. We recorded pictures of changes on symptoms. Results & Conclusions : The symptoms of pemphigus vulgaris were significantly improved. The blisters and itching were decreased and skin damages were almost recovered. Thus Korean medical treatments are effective on pemphigus vulgaris.

This report deals with the relations between the vibration restraint and the stress-strain properties of the stretch fabrics. For this purpose, a survey was carried out about the preferences in sports-brassiere. Six experimental sports-brassieres of an equal design, but of different materials were tested for vibration using an accelerometer and a motion analyzer while the subject is jogging. 1. The results of the survey on sports-brassiere preferences are as follows; Preferable factors are simple design, shield and close adhesion of sports brassiere. Dissatisfied factors on the sports-brassiere are drooping, vibrating of the breast, itching and wetting. The B-cup-size group perceive the bigger vibration and drooping than A-cup-size. 2. The results of the wearing tests are as follow; This experiment shows the vibration restraint effects on different stretch fabrics, such as hard, medium and soft nature. There was a linear relationship between the vibration restraint and combination of different types of stretch fabrics. Among different brassiere types, the 2-layered brassiere (inner layer of high tension fabric and outer layer of lower stretch fabric) showed the least vibration. In the case of 2-lay brassiere, the wearing comfort rate was highest.

Progressive pigmented purpuric dermatosis(Schamberg's disease, purpura simplex) is an uncommon eruption characterized by petechiae and patches of brownish pigmentation, particularly on the lower extremities. Lesions remain for months or years and present only a cosmetic problem. there is no hematologic disease, venous insufficiency, or associated internal disease. The most characteristic feature is orange brown, pinhead-sized "cayenne pepper" spots. It is hard to find similar disease in Oriental Medicine, however it could be though related with 瘀血. We observed and treated a 25 old female with progressive pigmented purpuric dermatosis on her lower extremities, without pain and itching sign. About 1 year after our treatment, herb-medication. acupuncture treatment, negative therapy and applied aroma oil in order to remove the 瘀血(a kind of congestion) & inner heat and promote the circulation of her blood, the area of pigmented purpuric dermatosis was decreased remarkably and the colour was lighter. She is been treated continuously now and satisfied with the efficacy of treatment.

Background: Infantile atopic dermatitis involves the face, with erythematous weepy patches. This weeping eczema has severe itching and causes eczema secondarily. Also it has a profound effect on the quality of life. Many infantile AD patient and parent suffer troubles because of weeping eczema. Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of Gyejigahwanggitang(桂枝加黃？湯) in infantile AD patient with weeping eczema. Method: I treated them with Gyejigahwanggitang(桂枝加黃？湯) for balancing YoungWi(調和榮衛). I also used acupuncture therapy.

A female sixty years old visited the Dept. of Oriental Medical Ophthalmology & Otolaryngology & Dermatology Hospital, Dong-eui University with contact dermatitis. she was suffering from the topical itching, empalement, ruler, edema and vesicle etc in skin of the face and two dorsum manus. We treated a patient with only Oriental Medicine.(internal and external use of the herbal medicine and acupuncture) After two weeks or so, the symptom of the skin disease recovered remarkably, we think that this is good case to treat with Oriental Medicine.

Systemic lupus erythematosus is a disease of unknown etiology that affects many organ system and is characterized by the presence of multiple autoantibodies that participated in immunology mediated tissue injury. A 36 years-old female patient was admitted to ward due to high fever and erythematous rash on face and hole body. She exhibited itching sense, joint pain, nausea, fatigue, sensitivity to light. The homatologic finding revealed anemia, decrease of lymphocyte, low platelet count, but LE cell, Anti nuclear antibody(ANA) were negative. In the point of Differentiation of Syndrome(辨證), SLE can be thought to be a category of Seasonal febril disease(溫病). This subject diagnosed as Domination of intense evil heat(熱毒熾盛), and was administrated with Chungonpadocyem-gamibang(淸瘟敗毒飮加味方). The clinical and laboratory findings of our patient were improved by herb medication, acupuncture therapy and general supportive measure.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report the effect of Hwangryuhaedok-tang gagambang on seborrheic dermatitis. Methods : The clinical study was done on 3 cases of seborrheic dermatitis patients with symptoms of flare, scales, pricking and itching. An author prescribed Hwangryuhaedok-tang gagambang for these patients and checked VAS(Visual Analogue Scale) scores depending on the patient's evaluation. Photographies were taken before and after the treatment. Results : VAS scores of all patients decreased from 10 to 1,2. Judging by photographies, patients noticeably improved in facial skin. As a result of examining VAS scores and photographies, Hwangryuhaedok-tang gagambang was effective on seborrheic dermatitis. Conclusions : From these results, Hwangryuhaedok-tang gagambang may be considered as a basic prescription for seborrheic dermatitis. And an author consider that continuous clinical study will be needed in Korean medical dermatology.

Exfoliative dermatitis is a name of a group of symptoms which is characterized by red rash, itching and scale in almost whole body. The patients are suffered from hypoalbuminemia, general weakness and fever sign in addition to characteristic skin lesions. So in the treatment of this disease, adequate symptomatic treatment is important with adequate topical skin management. We experienced a 67 year old Korean male patient diagnosed as exfoliative dermatitis based on clinical symptoms. We concluded that the symptoms of this patient are Sun-symptoms(癬症) and gave him Sunpunghwangi-san(宣風換肌散) and Chungdae-san(靑黛散). After taking herbal medicine, clinical improvement was noticed. Based on this experience, both internal and external use of oriental medicine have a good effect on exfoliative dermatitis.

A human case of the tick bite on the back of 36-year-old man was found in September 1995. On admission he complained of itching sensation and pain at the site. The removed tick was identified morphologically as fxones nipponensis.

Background: Atopic dermatitis is chronic eczematous dermatosis characterized by severe itching, localized eruption and chronic relapsing progress and has family history of atopic diseases and hereditary disposition. This Study is attempted in order to estimate the efficacy of herb medication treatment on atopic dermatitis. Objective: We studied 35 patients with atopic dermatitis from October 2001 to September 2002. Methods: We treated them with herb-medication and used the SCORAD index to assess the severity of atopic dermatitis. Results: Of the 35 patients that were treated, the SCORAD index was lowered to $30.5{\pm}20(3.5-94)$ than before of which the SCORAD index was $46.8{\pm}18.1(14.9-97.5)$. Conclusion: On the basis of this study, It should be considered that treatment of atopic dermatitis should be focused on the gastrointestinal system. Moreover a balanced diet should be considered
