The model of an isolated organ system has been developed to simulate the kinetic behavior of drug levels in an acting organ or site. The model is developed from basic considerations of drug distribution with hemodynamical and pharmacokinetical meanings. Model: It is considered a situation in which non-metabolic drug substance is injected into the arterial inflow of an isolated organ at constant rate. The volume of distribution and the concentration of drug in the venous outflow can be mathematically expressed as a function of time.

This paper presents practical details about control-loop design and dynamic analysis for a voltage-mode controlled isolated double step-down DC-DC converter. Graphical loop gain method is used to design the feedback compensation and analyze the closed-loop performance of isolated double step-down DC-DC converter. The results of the control design and closed-loop analysis are validated by experiments on a prototype converter.

Isolated stenotic lesion located at the ostium of the left main coronary artery associated with Takayasu`s aortitis is quite rare. This report herein described a case of 25 year old woman with isolated ostial stenosis of the left main coronary artery underwent pericardial patch [fixed with 0.6 % glutaraldehyde] angioplasty. An anterior approach was used and postoperative coronary angiogram of the patient showed normal coronary ostial contour with normal runoff.

Tumor-inducing (Ti) plasmid which may be used in genetic engineering of higher plants, was isolated from Agrobacterium tumefaciens in Korea. Among the 7 strains of A. tumefaciens isolated from various regions in Korea, KU12, KU13, KU14, and KU49 strains were confirmed to contain plasmid. The isolated Ti plasmids were digested with 4 kinds of restriction enzymes, respectively. According to the result of the cleavage patterns, we confirmed that these plasmids in the KU12, KU13, KU14 and KU49 strains are different.

A known flavonoid compound, $apigenin-7-O-{\beta}-D-glucuronide$, was isolated from the flowers of Chrysanthemum morifolium. Isolated compound, $apigenin-7-O-{\beta}-D-glucuronide$ showed strong anti-ulceric activity in rats.

The effects of partial replacement of flour with isolated soy protein (ISP) on sponge cake quality were investigated. The replacement did not cause any significant changes in physical characteristics of sponge cakes including specific gravity, specific volume and expansion ratio. As the level of ISP replacement increased, the sponge cakes were darker in color, harder, chewier and drier than control groups. The textural characteristics (hardness, cohesiveness, springiness, gumminess and chewiness) of the sponge cakes also increased as the level of flour replacement increased. Up to 15％ of the flour could be replaced by ISP without diminishing the sponge cake quality.

Four compounds were isolated from 90% ethanol extract of the stem of Clematis heracleifolia. On the basis of spectral data, the structure of isolated compounds were identified as sitosterone (1), β-sitosterol (2), scoparone (3) and octadecanoyl caffeate (4), respectively. Sitosterone (1) and octadecanoyl caffeate (4) are isolated from this plant for the first time.

Isolated tubal torsion is an uncommon cause of acute abdomen in pregnancy. Tubal torsion may occur in the absence of adnexal disease. Diagnosing tubal torsion is especially difficult in pregnancy because no precise preoperative radiological and biochemical investigations have been conducted. Most patients are diagnosed during surgery. Here, I present a case of isolated tubal torsion in a pregnant woman at 35 weeks and 6 days of gestation that was managed with salpingectomy and cesarean section simultaneously.

The predissociating resonances are treated for the SH molecule by quantal method. The isolated resonances (N'=0, v' = 0-6) are predicted to be highly Lorentzian. The widths and positions of the isolated resonances are computed as functions of v'. The magnitudes and signs of the widths and the shifts as functions of v' are discussed in terms of the distance of the resonance from the crossing points between the bound state (A 2Σ+ ) and the repulsive states ( 4Σ- , 2Σ- and 4Π).

In order to investigate the pathogenic genes and genetic relationships of Y. pseudotuberculosis, we isolated 9 strains of Y. pseudotuberculosis from about 380 spring water sites in Seoul and carried out antibiotic susceptibility test, biological test and molecular typing. All isolated strains were distributed throughout the northeast area in Seoul (Mt. Bookhan, Mt. Soorak, Mt. Boolam and etc...).Antibiotic susceptibility test revealed that all the strains were susceptible to chloramphenicol, gentamicin, neomycin and amoxicillin/clavulanic acid, but were resistant to novobiocin and vancomycin.
